April (Korean: 에이프릴, stylized as APRIL) is a six-member K-pop girl group formed by DSP Media. The group's name means "girl you can't help but love" because “A” represents the best and “Pril” means a lovable girl. They will debut on August 24, 2015, with the mini-album Dreaming and the title track "Dream Candy." The members are Somin, Jinsol, Naeun, Chaewon, Hyunjoo and Yena.[1][2]
History
Pre-debut: Puretty and Kara Project
In 2012, Somin was a member of the now-defunct girl group effort Puretty. The group debuted in Japan with the song "Cheki☆Love" and disbanded in 2014 with plans to reform into other groups.[3] In mid-2014, Somin and Chaewon became contestants in Kara Project, in which seven trainees competed to become new members of KARA.[4]
2015: Debut with Dreaming
