Bim A.Ş. began in 1995 with 21 stores and by the end of 2015[1] had reached 4972 stores in Turkey, making Bim the country's leading food retailer.[2] Bim does not offer franchises, all stores are owned and operated by the company itself.[3] As well as Turkey there are 279 stores in Morocco[1] and 140 in Egypt[1]. In 2016 Bim A.Ş. is planning to open 600 new supermarkets in Turkey, 100 in Egypt and 80 in Morocco[4] where the group expects 2 billions dirhams sales during the same year[4]. In 2005 44.12% of its shares were offered to the public. [5]
