• Comment: On the basis of the number of views his YouTube video Shangri-La has received I have to believe there are, somewhere, sufficient WP:RS for Ian Erix to pass either the WP:GNG or the WP:MUSICBIO. However, as of now, they are not in this article. The bulk of the references are to unreliable sources such as kworb.net, a press release on broadwayworld.com, etc. Those that are RS are fleeting references that do not establish substantial biographical data. • Comment: Hi ::@MadeYouReadThis: - Thank you for your review but it does not seem fair at all for you to decline this submission with having admittedly just reviewed 5 out of the 43 citations. I waited for nearly 2 months after submitting this draft to have it looked at for approval and it is simply not right to have it declined after all of this time for not meeting notability guidelines when the vast majority of sources were not even checked, as you yourself have stated. It is true that you state that the Vanity Fair article does not mention Erix directly, but that particular reference was specifically included only to back up the claims that were written about Pearlman in this article. Pearlman was mentioned since his professional relationship is relevant to Erix's career and references to this were also cited. In regard to Broadway World, All Music, Daily Star and Talent Monthly, in my opinion, these references do seem to clearly support the claims in the article and the notability of the subject. Nevertheless, if you for some reason feel differently, there are 38 other cited sources that also seem to clearly establish notability of the subject in my opinion as per the notability guidelines that you cited as part of WP:MUSICBIO . Erix specifically meets the Criteria for musicians by matching the following 8 out of 12 Criteria for musicians and ensembles listed in the Wikipeida guidelines for what constitutes notable musicians. I copied the 8 criteria he matches below.
  1-He has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable and independent of the musician himself.
  2-Has had a single on a country's national music chart.
  3-Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.
  4-Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.
  5-Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels.
  10-Has performed music for a work of media that is notable
  11-Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network.
  12-Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.
  With the above in mind, I kindly ask that you reconsider the decline and review this article again more thoroughly if you have the time or alternately please ask another Wikipedian to take a look at the article as I have spent a lot of time trying to perfect this and follow Wikipedia's guidelines. I do believe it should be passed through based on it's merits and the fact that it does meet all the applicable thresholds.

• Comment: I admit I haven't checked all 43 citations, but none of the first 5 I checked (broadwayworld, allmusic, talent monthly, daily star, vanity fair)
  supported claims in the article, some were of unclear reliability, and none support notability of the subject (i.e. directories).
  The Vanity Fair article doesn't even mention Erix, though would be a good source to establish notability of Pearlman. But that doesn't help here.

Ian Erix is an American pop singer, songwriter, TV presenter, and social media personality. He has released two albums and multiple singles under the banners of Nordican Music Group, Warner Music and Universal Music Group. In 2013, he was signed to Ultra Music and Sony Entertainment.

Early life

Erix was raised on Long Island, New York. He began performing professionally as a DJ/Emcee at age nine and signed his first management and recording contract as a pop singer while in his early teens with Louis J. Pearlman, the boyband mogul behind Orlando based Transcontinental Records.

Career

After Pearlman's arrest for embezzlement etc., Erix signed a record deal with I.D Music in Denmark and Warner/Chappell Music Scandinavia. Songs from his album "For Conformity" amassed millions of online streams and received airplay on international media networks such as MTV Japan and MNET South Africa before landing Ian's single, "Confessions Of A Killer" in the top 10 in Asia.

In 2010, Erix released the EP "So Scene, So See Through". The lead single, which was titled "So Scene, So See Through (A Song For Mutts)" has been credited for then playing a key role in growing Ian's fanbase and the lyrical content of the song inspired the name of his fandom and social justice movement, the "Mutt Army". During this time, Ian was invited to perform the song on MTV UK in a live session at their London studios. "The Human Race", a song Erix wrote and recorded in 2011 was featured in the hit television series 90210.

In 2012, Erix began creating more pop and dance style music. He had a breakthrough on Ultra Music in 2013 when he released his single "Sex, Dance and Rock & Roll (Lose It)" and appeared on stage at Réveillon in Brazil with David Guetta in front of a live crowd estimated at over 2 million people on New Years Eve.

In 2014, Ian recorded "Shangri-la" (also known as "Rannalle"), a song he wrote with Finnish boy band TCT and producer Erik Nyholm. The Scandinavian version of the song was nominated for the biggest hit of summer 2014 by radio station The Voice. It was originally ranked second but eventually won the vote to be named "Best Song of the Summer". The track climbed to the top of the single charts for several consecutive weeks reaching number 3 on national radio charts. Overall, the song was the fourth most played radio song in Finland in 2014 and on 24 July 2014, it was announced to have sold enough copies to be awarded gold record status.

In 2015, Erix released the English language version of "Shangri-La".The Guardian, one of the UK's largest newspapers, heavily criticized the music-video.

In 2016, Erix put out an EP called "Graffiti On My Heart" along with a 4 part music video film based off his personal life experiences including childhood abuse and the alleged homicide of his grandfather in addition to the tragic death of his dad.

Erix's single, "Footprints In The Sand", an EDM based pop track, was released in 2017 and peaked at #5 during the week of August 25 on dance radio in Japan. In the United States, the song received airplay nationally across iHeart Radio. It was voted top new song for 4 weeks in a row on iHeart's Kiss FM station in Memphis landing Ian a permanent spot in their "Newbee Hall Of Fame". The song went to #29 on the national music chart of Bulgaria on the week of September 3, 2017.

Erix continues to tour internationally as both a performer and presenter and has appeared at some of the worlds most famed music festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival, Europe. At the Paradise Music Festival in the Philippines, he hosted an MTV segment with pop star Austin Mahone On his 2017 UK tour with renowned XFactor boyband Union J, Erix performed songs from his yet to be released junior album. He spent much of 2017 on the road abroad from New Zealand to Indonesia to Japan, etc. In May 2017, he performed and presented at the red carpet pre-show for Justin Bieber's Purpose tour in Mumbai, India.

Erix kicked off 2018, in the United Arab Erimates where he appeared as celebrity ambassador at several events with pop stars such as Katy Perry, Akon and Hardwell. He presented the Red Diamond Award to the emirate of Dubai for the World's Greatest New Year's Eve Celebration and Erix's song, "Footprints In The Sand", was named the official theme for UAE New Year's 2018.
