Draft:Gianfranco Iannuzzi
Hi I've been declined with my draft for the artist and art director "Gianfranco Iannuzzi" and I've received this message:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
I understand it, but I have a question about it: What kind of coverage do you need? Because the subject in question has his name mentioned in all of his works published, but all the interviews, articles and publications are mostly in papers and magazines. Online you can find a very little about it, only the "passing mentions" written above. I can have proofs, if are needed, scans of the articles, but online it is hard to find something long and useful all about the subject of the page, (not to mention an homonymous person). So, how many mentions do we need to validate the page? Or how much internet coverage?
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Immersivearteditor (talk • contribs) 14:47, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sources don't have to be online you can just use the title, publisher date etc of any offline source. Theroadislong (talk) 15:11, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Second Draft Review Request
Good afternoon! I'm wondering if it would be possible for you to take another peek at my submitted draft here. You declined it back on December 1, and I've since made changes to it and resubmitted for review. Thank you for any feedback - I appreciate your help! --Jcollinsycc (talk) 18:21, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- My initial comments still apply, there is still unsourced content there which needs to be addressed and please remove all instances of "Dr" they are not required. I will leave it for another reviewer to decide. Theroadislong (talk) 18:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

George Gadson Article - For Review
Hi Theroadislong,
I am enquiring about the Approval of Article for Creation "Artist George Gadson" (Submission at Articles for creation: George E. Gadson (September 5) Which was created as an article by Swan Communications, Inc.
I have created Articles for clients before and did not have to file a Disclosure. So I am curious if this is a new guideline, as well as there are many companies out there, that write Wikipedia articles for compensation.
I few points to note: I am Editing the Page now, however I did create it in the first place.
We are now seeking Approval for Publication and it has been in the works since September.
I don't want to say that I am being paid for this publication for financial stakes; as I am the Writer of this Article. I write all Mr. Gadson's work that requires Writing.
However, I don't feel that there is an undisclosed financial stake in promoting this subject, nor is the article promotional. It is a clear Wikipedia type review of this national artist's Life, and Work, with more than forty[five online sources and references. I don't consider this a promotional endeavor by any means. Mr. Gadson is a national artist with Encyclopedia worthiness and more than 20 year's in artworks, experience, market value. press and notoriety.
I would be thankful if you can let us know what necessary steps we can take soonest, to get this page published. It has been more than six months.
And also so that I may know if I am ever to write again for future clients, I can assess the pitfalls ahead of time.
Thank you so much, Swancomm13
- You say "We are now seeking Approval" Wikipedia accounts are very strictly for single person use, paid editing is allowed if grudgingly by some of us, undisclosed paid editing will almost always result in being blocked. Theroadislong (talk) 19:11, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
Malformed request?
This seems mal-formed.
Try again by expanding the "How to open an investigation [show]" line here and filling it out. You may need to have the original deleted for the fill-in-form to work right though. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 19:32, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

I disclosed to you about my other Writing for Wikipedia, and instead of helping me you Flagged and Rejected my Article? Why? I am trying to do the right thing, not HIDE a CRIME.
What can I do to save the Article George Gadson, that has more than forty-five references, yet you say it is not noteworthy?

George Gadson Article - For Review
I said We, because I am his Writer. So single person use means that every Wikipedia item is written by the Subject? Presidents, Artists, Businesses, all write their own Wikipedia Entries? This is where I am confused.
There are a multitude of companies selling Wikipedia Article Submission. Do they all work for Wikipedia?
I have no problem Disclosing my Paid Writing. I write his words.
It is not an advertorial, which is usually where a journalistic conflict of interest arises. Hence my confusion.
I disclosed in earnest, not by Accident.
It is not a journalistic conflict of interest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SwanComm13 (talk • contribs) 20:16, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- It appears you have entirely miss-understood how Wikipedia works you say "single person use means that every Wikipedia item is written by the Subject?" Virtually nobody writes their own Wikipedia article, people completely unconnected write the articles, we have zero interest in what the articles subject wants to say about themselves. User accounts are for single person use only, they are not to be shared with anyone else including the article's subject. You have conntinued to edit Wikipedia here without first making the required declaration on your user page, you are also abusing the system by editing with other accounts or whilst logged out. Editing While Logged Out
Ok, I need you to stop being RUDE and treating me like a criminal.
1. I didn't know that leaving messages in Talk was an Edit, because that is the only "Editing" I am doing!
2. I am trying to decide, by talking to Wiki Editors, whether it is worth it for me to continue to get this page Published, as it is Rejected and we are assessing the subject's Notability.
3. Sometimes when you note comes in, I may answer from my email, forgetting that I am not logged in, and then Log In.
That is the only interaction I am having with Wikipedia! I am not EDITING!
And why do you continue to NOT help and talk to me like a dog! How were you raised?!
I am not doing anything belligerently or criminally. I may make mistakes from not knowing, but I am trying to educate myself so that I can stay on track. And to do that, I have to talk to people who can help me, which many Wiki Editors who have now become involved are doing. Except YOU.
You continue to be Rude, no information to help, accusative and suspicious.
What is wrong with you?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by SwanComm13 (talk • contribs) 11:12, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Mother Teresa: The Saint and Her Nation
Thank you very much for reading the draft page. Mother Teresa: The Saint and Her Nation
Please note that all the information is correct and comes from the book published by Bloomsbury Academic in 2020: https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/Mother_Teresa/0aL8DwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=alpion&printsec=frontcover
As you correctly note the information also available from Bloomsbury website: https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/mother-teresa-9789389165067/
However, I though it would be better if I referenced the google book website mentioned above.
Happy to take on board advice how to resolve this issue.

Thank you. This could have been easily rectified. The issue is can the draft page be retrieved so I can edit it accordingly. The excerpts from quotes were taken from the book and they were duly referenced. Request on 22:04:28, 7 January 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Madbradaustin
Thank you for your feedback on my submission. For a recording artist (music) most of the secondary sources will be music based such as biographical interviews, music profiles on music platforms, etc. Can you give an example or two that I can source for a suitable second source for this type of individual that IS acceptable? I've linked website articles, video and print interviews, news recaps of events, etc. I'm struggling to identify what that secondary source would be. Would it be safe to assume most of what I've added already is more a Primary source versus a secondary source based on this page? --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_original_research#Primary,_secondary_and_tertiary_sources
Thank you greatly for your time and feedback Madbradaustin (talk)Madbradaustin
Madbradaustin (talk) 22:04, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think probably all your sources would be considered primary, independent reviews in the music press would be useful if you can find any. Theroadislong (talk) 22:14, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

hi, I just realised the sample text I put in sounds more like an advert than a history narrative! I have no experience at this, so might need some help to link in to other pages etc... I would like it to end up something like the British Kendo association page, and also add some documents (as pdf's?) that people can read... I want to be able to link to Muso jikiden eishin ryu, but even the help page is a bit beyond what I understand about creating text on the web... any help appreciated...

Hello Theroadislong ... i got the comment you left on the article contribution [Dratf:Chigan Madu] and i noticed the article was not approved for being notable...i followed all the notability guidelines before creating the article and the sources are verified sources and not a press release !! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grhodig2017 (talk • contribs) 17:06, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- You will need to demonstrate that you pass the criteria at WP:GNG. Theroadislong (talk) 17:15, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Two of the three sources currently in the draft are in fact the same press release. The third source (Vanguard) reads exactly like a press release as well – even if it's not a PR, it is still not independent since it is entirely promotional in tone, and built around quotes from Madu himself. --bonadea contributions talk

Draft:Thomas Joseph Scanlon
Hi:
Thanks for your comments on my draft page about my deceased father.
I am not sure how to respond to comments, so I just left a message for Modussiccandi after he declined the draft page on Thomas Joseph Scanlon, who died in 2015.
As my father was recognized internationally for his lifetime contributions to the study of disasters, and a book he wrote (Catastrophe: Stories and Lessons from the Halifax Explosion) was just published, I thought he met the standard for a Wikipedia page.
I tried to keep the page objective and all of the information is drawn from indicated sources or from his own memoirs, which are not published (which I assume might be a problem).
The question I asked Modussiccandi is whether I should edit out the information I took from my father's memoirs and only cite available sources. I was under the impression it was okay to write about someone I knew if I kept the information objective.
Thanks for any feedback as I'm not clear how or if to proceed.
Sincerely

Draft: Tomos Roberts
Hello, Theroadislong... Thank you, kindly, for reviewing my draft in such a timely fashion. I appreciate your hard work and diligence.
When my draft was initially declined, it was due, in part, to the same reason you've provided (non-neutral POV, peacock terms, etc.). I worked diligently to correct this issue because, indeed, I had "editorialized" in some areas. I am fully prepared to better my draft, though I'm not entirely sure where I've erred in adopting a non-neutral POV. If possible, could you provide me with some examples?
Also, would you say that this issue is the final stumbling block to having my draft accepted?
Once again, thank you for the work you do! Much appreciated!
Ryan (Ryancoke2020 (talk) 14:20, 13 January 2021 (UTC))
Hello Theroadislong... I'm highly discouraged. I have about four different reviewers coming at me from seemingly various directions with diverging critiques. I'm basically stuck staring at my draft not knowing where to begin or whether it's even worth it (after ~6 months of hard work).
I'm simply looking to volunteer my time and abilities in helping the Wikipedia community, and I feel under attack and even mocked. This was supposed to be an enjoyable experience and it's now bordering on "nightmarish". I see all sorts of variations (re: structure, style) on numerous Wikipedia pages. I see links to YouTube (on Wikipedia) that are far more questionable than the links I've provided.
I'm working to reduce the number of references, I'm attempting to ensure that the article is presented with a neutral POV and I intend to continue reducing the amount of Wikipedia links (I've already removed a good number of them). That said, a few times now, I've been told that something is non-neutral, when, in fact, I'm simply paraphrasing a reputable article. If the Washington Post mentions that the theme of one of Tomos' compositions (poems) is hope and optimism, that's not my POV; that's what the WaPo reported. If I watch one of his video creations (spoken word poetry) and I mention, for example, the background setting or the topic in question, I don't believe that's my POV; it is what it is (for lack of a better expression). I'm definitely not trying to be a wise guy, but if the sky is blue, then it's blue... this is rather objective. If I state that the sky is beautiful, then I'm veering more into subjectivity. These are just examples... nothing specific per se.
Insofar as YouTube links, the ones I've employed aren't opinion pieces about that particular topic; they are links to the projects themselves (in this case, the spoken word poetry videos). This is integral to my draft in many cases.
Lastly (and I apologize for seemingly whining), every time my page is submitted anew, a different reviewer is "assigned" to me or, like today, I have 3-4 different reviewers coming at me. It's inconceivable to expect uniformity and exact consistency from one reviewer to the next, so the continual back-and-forth could carry on indefinitely - or nearly. That's a bit daunting. Is it possible to have one reviewer assigned to me?
Again, I apologize if it seems as though I'm complaining, but as I mentioned, I'm just really discouraged.
Any help / guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, kindly!
Ryan (Ryancoke2020 (talk) 00:29, 14 January 2021 (UTC))
- Creating an article is the most difficult task on Wikipedia and you have dived straight in. Once submitted anyone is free to edit a draft and as user Possibly has pointed out “A large draft such as the one you have created has zero chances of being published without help, as it contains literally hundreds of errors that are preventing that”
All the reviewers are saying the same things basically. You say that “If I watch one of his video creations (spoken word poetry) and I mention, for example, the background setting or the topic in question” no that is NOT allowed that is what we call original research. All of the links to Facebook need to be removed, likewise the YouTube links, we have no interest in them, Wikipedia only reports on what independent reliable sources say. The draft will not be accepted until it is hacked back to what is correctly sourced. You have reverted the most useful edits of User Possibly, so I’m not sure how I can help you? A single paragraph with three good sources would probably make an acceptable draft but not the current enormous tract. Theroadislong (talk) 08:45, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello Theroadislong... Thank you, once again! I've made many changes (including User Possibly's recommendations), though additional work still needs to be undertaken. I'm working to drastically pare down the content (of the draft), to eliminate superfluous and non-reliable references (I've removed nearly 50, I believe), to reduce Wikipedia links as well as to adopt, at all times, a neutral POV. I'm not done, but I've made steady progress - so far. I will continue abiding by your recommendations and by the recommendations of others. I do genuinely appreciate the help!

What does your subsequent review mean? Do I need to do anything, like re-submit the page? Do I keep waiting for more reviews? thanks for any help! MurphCooper (talk) 15:37, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- MurphCooper I have not made any edits to your draft or reviewed it? I may have marked the page as patrolled maybe that is what you saw? Theroadislong (talk) 15:53, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Theroadislong No edits have been made, but I definitely have a notification saying "The page Draft:Broadwick Live has been reviewed". And then your username is underneath..

Hello Theroadislong,
I saw your comment about having a neutral approach and theme throughout the article so I have made the changes and published them, they should be fixed now. Please let me know if you would like me to change anything else, I am finding your guidance very helpful as I am learning new things that I will use when I take on other articles😁.

Recent Article on Clarke Waggaman
Thank you for your feedback on my recent article. This is my first wikipedia submission, so I have been having difficulty contributing on this platform, but am enjoying the learning process. I recently rewrote the majority of the article so that direct quotes were removed to avoid any copyright infringements. I also added more citations and articles to help strengthen the article's integrity. If you could kindly review these changes, I'd love for this lost architect of DC to have a wikipedia page to get more people talking about his work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike0000145 (talk • contribs) 16:57, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Draft: Tomos Roberts
Hello Theroadislong... It's only been one day since the draft was last declined, but that said, I've already removed approx. 33 links/references and I've significantly reduced the content of the draft - with much more to go. I've also removed many Wiki links within the body of the text as well as an entire section (which didn't belong). Please keep in mind that I'm a first responder and it's a very busy & dangerous time, so I'm only afforded so much time in the course of a day or night to edit the draft. I will address the YouTube links shortly, but I'd kindly ask for your indulgence.
Thank you,
Ryan (Ryancoke2020 (talk) 18:13, 14 January 2021 (UTC))
Hello Theroadislong... Update: I've removed the vast majority of the YouTube links, as requested. That said, I've spared a few because I believe they may be legitimate sources.
- 14 - CNN (YouTube)
- 31 - Constellation Dreamers (YouTube) ... This one's questionable, but perhaps?
- 33 - BBC London (YouTube)
- 39 - Sofar Sounds (YouTube) ... Perhaps questionable, but Sofar Sounds does have a Wikipedia page
- 40 - Fuse TV Manchester - Manchester University (YouTube) ... Perhaps?
- 44 - Britain's Got Talent (YouTube)
- 45 - Good Morning Britain (YouTube)
At your convenience, please let me know if any of these YouTube links can be used as references. Thanks for your patience!
Ryan (Ryancoke2020 (talk) 20:27, 14 January 2021 (UTC))
- I would not use any personally, I tend to think that if the content can't be sourced somewhere else then it probably shouldn't be included at all, but it certainly isn't forbidden to use YouTube in certain cases. Theroadislong (talk) 21:21, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

DREXSPORT, Wild Whey, Wild Muscle
Hi
Thank you for taking the time to review my pages so quickly. I was not in any way trying to fraudulently post any articles. I receive no direct or indirect payment from DREXSPORT. I certainly don't have shares in the company since it is not public and just a small business.
As a freelance editor, I came across the DREXSPORT webpage, and I was impressed. I do a lot of copywriting for people on Amazon (where I found DREXSPORT), but DREXSPORT is not compensating me. I deal with many Amazon sellers who sell just junk and go from one product to another. Yes, I know the owner and worked with him in the past. He is not paying me to post on Wikipedia. He is in his early 30s and built DREXSPORT from scratch. This year his company, DREXSPORT, is sponsoring athletes who cannot afford protein powder by giving free protein powder to 10 Indian athletes for free--a roughly $7,000 value. I think that is notable and honorable. DREXSPORT (the owner always wants to remain anonymous) is a special company--it is helping people. The owner was broke eight years ago, and now he is successful. He is a minimally educated Indian man who grew up in rural India. That sounds like the American Dream to me. His company is based in Wyoming.
I believe it's pretty special for him to sponsor athletes. He is very generous and wants to give back to his country. I think he deserves a Wikipedia page. Period. He is not paying me to post on Wikipedia. Actually, it was going to be a surprise.
I can see how the Wild Whey and Wild Muscle read like sales copy, but not the DREXSPORT article. I will take out links to Amazon. I thought I looked at Wikipedia's TOS carefully. Apparently, I missed something. This is on me. My goal is to make people aware of a small business and owner who beat the odds and gives to his community.
Please tell me what I need to do to change the DREXSPORT article so Wikipedia will publish it. I will forget about the two product pages. I wrote the article myself. No plagiarism was involved, and my intention was not to advertise. Tell me what to do to correct the error.
Thank you,

- Notability of a topic is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources.
Novice editors are commonly advised to cite at least three independent, reliable, secondary sources containing significant coverage. Your drafts had zero reliable sources and were written like advertisements. They were rejected and will not be considered further, I think you may have miss-understood what Wikipedia is about. Theroadislong (talk) 09:22, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @LinneaReilly: I think you're putting the cart before the horse; Wikipedia articles do not exist to raise awareness of the subject, as you have hoped (
I think he deserves a Wikipedia page
), but only serve as a record of what makes subjects notable. No amount of editing can rescue a subject from a lack of notability. You may want to pursue alternative outlets to raise awareness, which could potentially have the side effect of reliable secondary sources writing about DREXSPORT. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 17:55, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi,
I am new at this.
I got a message that said the subject was not adequately references.
This is for a documentary that I made.

Please let me know why these are not adequate and what else I can do to satisfy the requirement.

- None of your sources on Draft:Bob Gomel : Eyewitness are reliable or independent. Theroadislong (talk) 22:23, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
I have links to 3 independent 3rd party reviews. There is a link to the actual movie. I also have links to the web page, FB, Twitter and IG accounts.
Also link to the iMDB listing of the movie that has been vetted and verified.
What other types of references will fit the requirement?
Or maybe I am misunderstanding the requirement. Are the references to verify that the movie exists?
Or am I formatting them incorrectly? I could not find a template that worked for specific references, so I added the review links manually.

Would like help in editing my draft CallRail @Theroadislong
Hey there!
Thank you for the quick review of my page. I also sent a note via the Teahouse, but not sure I did it right. I'm pretty new to Wikipedia editing and I'm still getting a hang from this.
Apart from that, my recent article submission, CallRail, was declined by you. I would like your help in understanding how I can improve this submission.
When creating the article, I used an existing Wikipedia page—HubSpot— as my guide. I studied their sources and how they framed up the topic with the hope that my post would not get flagged. Can you help me further understand and point me in the right direction? I can strip the copy down to sound more neutral but would like some guidance in terms of source finding, etc.

Hey, you have rejected my Article simply because a user had included my article in his article named Momo Challenge hoax. You know it's logically wrong to include an article in another article. You can't include Blue Whale (fish) article in Blue Whale challenge article. The user had to write about Momo Challenge hoax not on Mother Bird (sculpture). Yeah, he could write that the horror figure of Momo is derived from a sculpture called Mother Bird.

For Draft: Ben Hum
Hi theroadislong! :) I understand the reason was due to insufficient notability but I would like to clarify that in my country, said person is a singer-songwriter who has received media coverage from our local media news channel and even overseas news platforms. For Notability (music), I believe said artiste has fulfilled the following:
- Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself
- Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or television network.
- Has won first, second or third place in a major music competition.
Would like to seek some advice and would need some help right here on how you think I could improve on the article. Appreciate your kind assistance.

- Anything sourced to their own website or press releases like "LiquidCapital is one of the largest providers of branded financial services solutions in the South African automotive industry". Theroadislong (talk) 14:15, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- (by talk page stalker) Hi. Tianjnel! To expand what Theroadislong said above to a more general view, Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject wants or likes to tell about themselves, about their family, their friends, their employer, their business, their city, belief, society, school, political party, etc, etc – but only what other, unrelated people wrote about them. That's why we require independent, reliable sources, which present the importance of the subject, not just mention them. That also excludes promotional tone full of puffery mentioned by Theroadislong. Wikipedia article is meant to show what the subject is, not how wonderful it is. --CiaPan (talk) 16:24, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

- I was invited by an admin, I would imagine you would need many thousands more edits and rather more experience. Theroadislong (talk) 15:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Ohk thnx understood. Akshat2103 (talk) 15:07, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Can please send me link of talk page of any one admin? Akshat2103 (talk) 06:58, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
I will contact admins and ask them to make me a reviewer. Akshat2103 (talk) 08:13, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Akshat2103 You have been on Wikipedia 10 days and only made 11 edits to articles, I think you would not be considered yet. Theroadislong (talk) 08:34, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Still plz give me link, I know all policies and regulations on Wikipedia. I have enquired all my doubts regarding reviewing articles on #wikipedia-en-help and I am on Wikipedia since 2017. So give me link of talk page on an admin, plz.
I shall request him/her so that he/she approves.
Note: I will not make any mistake while reviewing. If I have any doubt, I shall ask you, sure!!!! Akshat2103 (talk) 08:44, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- You have zero experience, so it would be a waste of time, sorry. Theroadislong (talk) 09:06, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Okay👌fine!!! After how many edits are we permitted to do so? Akshat2103 (talk) 09:18, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
The submitter, Dankeshankar, stated, in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elgi Equipments: "So, as of my affiliation. I've no ties with the company nor I am getting paid to do this." So I have advised them to leave that draft alone and edit other articles that they are interested in. If they submit the current draft for review, you or I can decline it. (Actually, if it is submitted for review in its current state, I will reject it, because they have not made any improvements to it.) If they move it to article space, someone will nominate it for deletion, and it should be salted. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:30, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks I missed that. Theroadislong (talk) 17:46, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
CE and BCE vs BC AD
Dear contributor
Although its an interesting academic exercise to use BCE and CE the fact it that it will cause most readers that are not in academia to have to read additional articles on what the meaning is. The common jargon for dates is still BC and AD and anything else should be kept for theoretical articles that focus on this subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deanerasmus2006 (talk • contribs) 17:58, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Deanerasmus2006 Per WP:ERA an article's established era style should not be changed without reasons specific to its content; seek consensus on the talk page first, you are edit warring to get your preferred version, this will only lead to you being blocked.
