LaLa Ri is the stage name of LaRico Potts (born 1990), an Atlanta, Georgia based drag queen and dancer, best known for placing 10th in the thirteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race where she was also voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
Career
LaLa Ri was previously a backup dancer in Atlanta clubs, but began her drag career between 2017 and 2018 after being put in drag by fellow season 13 contestant, and drag mother Tamisha Iman, making them the first drag mother and daughter pair to compete on the same season of RuPaul's Drag Race.[1]
Potts describes her drag style for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, saying "I’m a showgirl. I love to dance. I love to entertain. I have a little sex appeal... I love to show off my legs. I work hard for my padded [butt]. I am a girl of many talents... I am everybody’s favorite homegirl. I’m very relatable. I have style. I have grace.”[2]
Potts competed in the thirteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, being eliminated in episode 7 and placing 10th. She received the Golden Boot award for her look during season 13's "Bag Ball," and was voted as Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.[3]
In April 2021, at the season 13 reunion, LaLa Ri premiered a music video for her first single, "Bad Bitch Tip", featuring Ocean Kelly.[3]
