Currently it is under Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike(BBMP). There is a historic structure with 4 pillars on the eastern side of the lake built in stones. Lake area started shrinking due to urbanization and land encroachment. Residential and commercial activities in the area have resulted in increasing the silt deposition and have caused loss of underground water recharge and water holding capacity.[2]
