Hello, I'm FormalDude. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Singrauli State, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ––FormalDude talk 09:57, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gaj Singh into Draft:Bhuvaneshwar Prasad Singh. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:11, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Thank you
Thank you for making a lot of edits to Singrauli State and related topics. It is quite a bit of an improvement since I first created. I'd like to thank you, so here you go, I'll award you this:
Scratchinghead (talk) has given a plate of Channa masala! Channa masala is a culinary delicacy of India. It goes well with Roti. It spreads WikiLove and hopefully will make your day better, spicier and more flavourful.
Spread the delectability of the channa masala by adding {{subst:Channa_masala}} to someone's Talk page with a friendly message! Offer a plate of channa masala to someone you've had disagreements with in the past, or to a good friend.

Disambiguation link notification for March 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pashupati Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages GCB, GBE and Shree. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi
I am surprised by the amount of content you are able to share based on Singrauli. But, I have some questions regarding this.
1. Are you related to the Royal Family of Singrauli and so you are doing this? If so: a) License your images (the ones on Commons, such as the Raj Tilak image) b) You really shouldn't be editing the Wikipedia. Why? I personally have no objection, but after a long time, you'll be hunted down as having a "Conflict of Interest". You can, however, post information (only applies to text) on other websites.
2. Are you staying/have stayed at Singrauli Palace Heritage Hotel (IIf not haven't been there) and does it present these small slips of information in paper about the country?
3. If not, where do you get the content from?
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scratchinghead (talk • contribs) 09:37, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi,
- The reply to your first question:
- I used to live in Waidhan, Singrauli that is why I know this much. Secondly I am not related to the Royal Family.
- The reply to your second question:
- Yes, I have stayed at the Singrauli Palace Heritage Hotel and yes it does have the information about the photos underneath them.
- The reply to your second question:
- I have gotten all this information due to the fact that there are some books on the history of Singrauli etc and in the hotel there is information about Singrauli State.
- Thanks HistoricGeek2345 (talk) 17:49, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you! Scratchinghead (talk) 11:40, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- If any of the books are available in some database online-please provide the URLs, that would be a great help. Scratchinghead (talk) 11:41, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- Ok I will try to find and share with you!

Colonial India pages
Why are you changing the well-worn high-resolution maps on colonial India pages such as Presidencies and provinces of British India with copies of low-res maps such as in this edit? Please don't do this again, without a talk page discussion and a consensus achieved for your edit (which is not the same thing as making a perfunctory post on the talk page and proceeding with your edit.) The low-res maps have been available on DSAL University of Chicago for years. Please remove the map File:1909 Map of India.jpg, and other such maps you have added to Wikipedia; otherwise, I will request their deletion. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 15:30, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- Ok I will delete them. HistoricGeek2345 (talk) 18:40, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
singrauli maps
Please stop uploading these maps. For context, I will name each one that is not needed. File:1946 Political Subdivisions of India by the National Geographic.jpg File:India Political 1893 Constables Hand Atlas.jpg File:India in 1837 and 1857, showing East India Company-governed territories in pink.jpg File:Map of India 1857.jpg File:1837 Map of India.jpg File:1823 Map of India.jpg contains a secret singrauli in the form of a city. File:Indian Empire in 1893.jpg File:Political Map of India 1893.jpg also contains a secret singrauli in the form of a city. File:1909 Map of India.jpg File:Central India Agency Map.jpg - I reverted your change. Why? This is a historic map and should NOT be altered.
Comments
All of the above files have been tagged as inaccurate, and while you are welcome to contribute, altering a HISTORICAL map for the purposes of a Singrauli "pseudo-nationalism" isn't. If it happens, it will be labelled forgery. They have been removed from Presidencies and Provinces of British India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scratchinghead (talk • contribs) 04:44, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- I did not create The Central India Agency Map. I just edited it. I edited all of them as Singrauli was a princely state and it had more territory and a gun salute more than Rewah therefore I edited the maps.
- I am sorry HistoricGeek2345 (talk) 05:49, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- 1. No, I know you added text. If you created the map, then i would NOT have objected whatsoever.
- 2. The reason they shouldn't have Singraulis in them is because these are old maps, for example File:Map of America - by A. Arrowsmith, 1804; W. and G. Cooke sculpt.; engraved by W. West, the hills by H. Wilson. NYPL434545.tiff. Would you add the Arapaho Native American Tribe to it because "it was significant"? In the same way, you shouldn't add singrauli to these things. (Yes, it was significant, but changing something that was made quite a bit ago to suit "accuracy" isn't something well taken.) If you want, you can make "forgeries" for Personal Use Only.
- 3. it's okay, just halt any more of this. Scratchinghead (talk) 09:20, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- i want to apologize in indulging in a hoax ! Scratchinghead (talk) 14:39, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ok I understand thank you but I can make my own maps right and put it on the Singrauli State Wikipedia etc? One more thing, when I stayed in the Singrauli Palace Heritage Hotel I saw an old map in the hotel which was from approximately from 1909 to 1917; So if I can find it on the internet or something can I upload the original one on Singrauli State?
Thanks HistoricGeek2345 (talk) 10:03, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- 1. You CAN make your own maps. And you can put it here.
- 2. Yes. But- do you know how they can be used (copyright, etc.?) Scratchinghead (talk) 04:27, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Scratchinghead (talk) 04:27, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Scratchinghead and HistoricGeek2345: By the way, both of you do know that Singrauli was no princely state, let alone one with more "gun salutes than Rewa" as one of you said to me, but just a small zamindari estate, with a very dubious history, described in its single obscure mention in the Imperial Gazetteer of India in a section on the Benares zamindari. I'm busy right now, but will eventually pay attention. In the mean time, I request that you not add any more content and maps that you have added related to the Singrauli estate until it is determined how notable this enterprise is; as you know the person who added the maps--which were old wikipedia maps, altered to show singrauli, and then replaced with a new uploaders name--has been permabanned . - Well, your comment that Singrauli was a small zamindar is applicable to another zamindari estate, "Kantit-Mirzapur", also called "Singrauli". This is different-it is an actual princely states (one of three in its region, Sidhi and Singrauli district with one being yet another estate ruled by either the very same Mirzapur or another family of the same dynasty and the other being a state called Bardi-Khatai.) However, the claims made by the U. Babas will be removed. It can't be that important. Scratchinghead (talk) 12:11, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- Why is it not mentioned anywhere in the 25 volumes of the Imperial Gazetteer of India? Pataudi, a much smaller Zamindari estate (which was not a princely state) has its own page. Something is fishy here which I will eventually figure out when I have time. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 13:03, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- If you see the earlier versions of the U. Baba edits they are all unsourced. @Scratchinghead reverted the changes on the Singrauli District page as they were unsourced. So was Kantit-Mirzapur a princely state or zamindari? I think the article on which Singrauli State has been written about is a princely state and Kantit-Mirzapur is different.
- Thanks HistoricGeek2345 (talk) 13:52, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- 1. Kantit-Mirzapur is a zamindari.
- 2. No, Singrauli and Kantit-Mirzapur are ruled by different dynasties and are located in different places. What links them is that they are Rajput, and they share the name. (kantit Mirzapur is called Singrauli, that is the sole mention of Singrauli in the Imperial Gazetteer). Scratchinghead (talk) 14:02, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- Is this another mention I just found? Scratchinghead (talk) 14:10, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- When the much-larger Benares Estate, which has its own entry in the IGI, was just a zamindari, not a princely state, how did a Singrauli (which has no mention) become a princely state. As I said, I will get to the bottom of this, but prima facie, it seems like boosterism, with which a large number of Indian princely pages are infected, witness Benares State. Anyway, I will get to the bottom of this, but as yet I see nothing reliable that supports the designation "princely state" for Singrauli in any of its manifestations.
