Animal is an upcoming 2023 Indian Hindi language action thriller film written, edited and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios.[2][3] The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri.[4]

Animal is scheduled to be released on 1 December 2023.[5]

Premise

A gangster drama that revolves around the troubled father-son relationship set in the backdrop of extreme bloodshed of the underworld which eventually leads to the protagonist becoming a psychopath.[6]

Development and casting

Animal was officially announced by T-Series on January 1, 2021 with an announcement video with actors Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Parineeti Chopra as cast and Sandeep Reddy Vanga as the director.[7] A few days later, Tripti Dimri was also reported to star in the movie.[8] In March 2022 it was reported that Rashmika Mandanna replaced Chopra.[9][10]

Filming

Principal photography began in Manali in April 2022.[11][12] The second schedule was in Mumbai in May 2022 and filming was held at Pataudi Palace in July 2022.[13] The next schedules were held in Delhi and Punjab.[14][15] The Indian shooting was wrapped up in mid-March and from first week of April and the filming of foreign locations like England and Scotland started with a schedule of 20-25 days.[16]

Music

Hindi soundtrack is composed by Manan Bhardwaj, Sachet–Parampara, Mithoon, Amaal Mallik and Vishal Mishra. Film score is given by Harshwardhan Rameshwar. [17]

Release

The official announcement of the film was released in YouTube on 1 January 2021 with information related to star-cast was also announced in it. The first poster of the film was released on 1 January 2023, while the pre-teaser was released on 11 June 2023. [18][19][20] The film was set to release on 11 August 2023 but was postponed due to heavy VFX and Dubbing works. The film is now scheduled to release on 1 December 2023 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages.[21][22]
