Capitalization

It seems that the draft for the correct capitalization, Draft:Lil Tay has been indefinitely set to requiring administrator privileges to create. Due to the recent news, should this be lifted to allow for this page to be moved to its correct capitalization? Is this page allowed to be created at all, or is it considered a bypass of the administrator lock? Hopefully an administrator can look into this ASAP and see what can be done from here. It seems early to be jumping to the conclusion that she is dead, agreed

The author of the Time magazine article headlines that her family announces her death, but has no more evidence than a post on her account, which combined with multiple reports of her father denying any knowledge of this - rather more specific than "her family", - is consistent with the hypothesis, for example, that her ig account could have been hacked, say. The article from CTV News Vancouver said that they’ve contacted the police departments in the Vancouver area, with no reports of any deaths with Tay’s name. If that’s the case, it’s either she died somewhere else or she didn’t die at all. Either way, it seems very suspicious. CommanderJänsen (talk) 05:51, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

It is definitely too early. The only source we have is an Instagram post, far from a reliable source. I'm honestly shocked at how many media outlets have pronounced her dead just off this information alone, especially as there's been no reports from the Vancouver Police Department about her death or an investigation into it. Snopes issues correction

Well, it seems even Snopes jumped the gun on this. While researching this topic yesterday, I encountered their article titled "Yes, Child Rapper Lil Tay Has Died", though I chose not to include this information due to the previous reports of false allegations and hoax reports. It seems that Snopes issued a correction today, placing a new title; "Child Rapper Lil Tay Has Died, According to an Instagram Post". Happy to see that they were prompt with their correction, though it shows that even fact-checking websites can get caught in the media frenzy as well.--WMrapids (talk) 17:46, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Misleading article

Who is the moron that changed the page to say that Variety received a phone call from the manager? The article they cited does not state this anywhere, and beyond the instagram post, there is NO confirmation. I'm still new so this might be wrong, I've checked WP:RSP and it seems like 'The Cut' is reliable. It mentions here that her mother is Chinese, so would that not make her of Chinese descent/have Chinese Ancestry?
