:{{re|Space772} Hi there! Whenever I get the chance I'll take a look at the concrete case and see if I'd suggest anything. But ideally you'll raise the topic in both talk pages and wait for a couple of weeks to see what others comment. You can also use the tags <nowiki>{{Merge to}} and {{Merge from}}</nowiki> to make sure people see what you're suggesting. So if I understood correctly you'd "merge from" the current article, taking the banner's contents to the existing article (if it's not there yet) and once that's done you'll create the "new" article where the previous one existed. Does that make sense? [[User:Rkieferbaum|Rkieferbaum]] ([[User talk:Rkieferbaum#top|talk]]) 15:08, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Sam120570 (18:06, 24 October 2023)

I want to create my own Wikipedia page. How do I do this? --Sam120570 (talk) 18:06, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sam120570: hi there! Wikipedia is not a place for you to write your own autobipgraphy. Is that what you were looking for? Cheers! Rkieferbaum (talk) 19:50, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Rkieferbaum, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 18:51, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Rkieferbaum:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2500 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Language and literature

Lyric poetry genre FIONA WILFRED (talk) 09:16, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from FIONA WILFRED on Poetry (09:17, 9 November 2023)

Hi Can you help me with the full article of the Lyric poetry in the form of literature please. --FIONA WILFRED (talk) 09:17, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@FIONA WILFRED: Hi there! How are you doing? Sure, I'll be happy to help you with that. I'm not quite sure, though, whether the topic you're proposing merits a standalone article or if it could be a section in an existing article. Would you like to use your Sandbox (see the link to it on the top of your screen) to propose a first draft and let me know wnen you're done so that I can take a look and we can discuss it further? Question from Bob Flesher Uke on Talk:Uke, Nigeria (16:40, 12 November 2023)

Hello, Uke is a home of hospitality for all and sundry. This popular saying is well understood by Ndi Uke Nile..(onye amuro uke, Uke eke eh ya.) --Bob Flesher Uke (talk) 16:40, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Bob Flesher Uke: Hello there! I'm very glad to hear. I'll try to add some information to that article. Would you like some help to try and edit it yourself as well? I'm happy to help! All the best. Rkieferbaum (talk) 00:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Hayini (20:24, 17 November 2023)

can i right down a story about my life experience?? --Hayini (talk) 20:24, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Hayini: no, Wikipedia isn't social media if that's what you're looking for. Wikipedia is for organizing and summarizing relevant information that has been published elsewhere. Does that answer your question or did you have anything specific in mind? Rkieferbaum (talk) 20:38, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Marcus6276 (04:29, 18 November 2023)

Hey, at what point is an article no longer a stub? I've been editing an article a lot recently to the point where I don't think the stub label fits anymore. What do I do next? --Marcus6276 (talk) 04:29, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from CelticBlue2u (09:36, 18 November 2023)

Hello, I have been battling to get this page up and running about an author. I seem to have run afoul of the system and failed. I am exhausted. Any productive help would be appreciated. Cheers. --CelticBlue2u (talk) 09:36, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@CelticBlue2u: his there! Do you mean Rick Treon? It seems you copied parts of the text from their website, which is not acceptable (it violates copyright). Copyrighted material should be replaced with direct or indirect quoting or paraphrasing, depending on the context. The text also reads as advertising and isn't neutral (which is natural since it was taken from the author's own website, apparently. I'll be glad to help you with any of that, but I need some indication from you that you're willing to work on those points. Cheers. Rkieferbaum (talk) 14:08, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from HEMANT AASHIQ (17:21, 19 November 2023)

I live at Bihar (Nawada) --HEMANT AASHIQ (talk) 17:21, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@HEMANT AASHIQ: that's interesting! Are you interested in contributing to Wikipedia? Rkieferbaum (talk) 14:09, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Montaigneux (12:28, 20 November 2023)

Hello Sir,

Thank you very much, I have merely suggested the removal of a no longer required cleanup-tag. That was not difficult but sensible, as it might have created an awkward and unwarranted suspicion concerning the content of the well written and fully referenced article. When I shall wish to do something more complicated I will gratefully take your offer. Best wishes, Danyel --Montaigneux (talk) 12:28, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Montaigneux: that is reasonable. Please let me know if I can help you with anything at all. Cheers. Rkieferbaum (talk) 14:10, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiExplorerAbhi: hi there. By title mistakes do you mean articles that are incorrectly titled? Of course we should fix that. Can you give me a few examples so that I can examine the issue? Rkieferbaum (talk) 17:48, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jason Bekiaris (19:26, 29 November 2023)

Hi there, I just created a page for Canadian musician Jason Bekiaris. It says it's in Draft mode, how do I make it live and get permanent url? --Jason Bekiaris (talk) 19:26, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jason Bekiaris: hi there! I have added a template at the top of your draft that allows you to submit it for review. Please take a look at it and let me know if I can help you any further. Cheers! Rkieferbaum (talk) 02:15, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Elusivefella (05:25, 11 December 2023)

What should I be reading to get proficient? Or should I just try things out and have some fun? --Elusivefella (talk) 05:25, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Elusivefella: hi there! I assume you mean you'd like to become proficient at editing Wikipedia articles, right? Although it varies a little bit from person to person, to me the best way to start is to make small edits and make them gradually more complex as you feel confident. For instance, you could start by reviewing grammar and spelling mistakes or by improving confusing or ambiguous sentences. As your edits become more complex you might feel the need to check Wikipedia guidelines that can be found at WP:MOS, a neatly organized Manual of Style for articles. Feel free to contact me whenever I can be of any help. I'll keep an eye on your edits for the next few days and be sure to drop you a note with suggestions. Cheers! Drafts for Review

Hi Rkierferbaum can you review my articles and see if they are worthy to be included in Wikipedia. These articles meet all general notability requirements for inclusion in Wikipedia and that they are separate languages with their Iso codes and reference codes and names. Here they are. They are also not redirects as Anomie bot and Rober Mclennon only added redirects based on similar names but they are totally different language articles that I have created with information verified and reliable. Here they are.[[1]], [[2]], [[3]], [[4]], [[5]], [[6]], [[7]], [[8]], [[9]] 2600:1700:2F01:CDC0:CDB:CEB6:91A7:23BB (talk) 15:35, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Space772 (18:44, 29 December 2023)

Hey so I was wondering if I would be allowed to translate an article to English with a translator. The article I want to translate is https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felice_Cascione am I allowed to do that? --Space772 (talk) 18:44, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Space772: Hi there! How are you doing? The translate tool to English can only be used by extended confirmed users, that is, users with more than 500 edits. This is because it has been often misused in the past, with inadequate translations and use of modules and templates. This is becasue each Wikipedia has different rules and guidelines. You can still translate the article manually and create it as a new article here, ideally using the Draft space so that I and other experienced users can take a look to see if the English Wikipedia guidlines are being followed. Feel free to ping me to take a look if you do that. Does that asnwer your question? Cheers! Rkieferbaum (talk) 12:50, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Space772 (05:34, 1 January 2024)

I'm not sure how to fix the date on this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longplayer# It has a box that displays the length of time that it has been playing in years months and days but I think the code is broken or something. --Space772 (talk) 05:34, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Space772: Hi there! I was only able to look at it today. It seems like it's working fine (I can read "Longplayer has been playing for 24 years and 2 days" right below the infobox. Is that what you were referring to? Rkieferbaum (talk) 18:14, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
yes that is what I was referring to I guess it just wasn't updated yet when I was looking at it Space772 (talk) 05:03, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Space772: it will sometimes lag a little bit due to cache and optimizations and whatnot... depending on what device I'm on it gives slightly different times. But I guess that's fine for the purpose of this particular article. Cheers! Rkieferbaum (talk) 12:44, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MAB Consultants (18:03, 8 January 2024)

dear i want to publish an article about the company MAB Consultants and MAB Solutions --MAB Consultants (talk) 18:03, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MAB Consultants: hi there. Even though I believe you have good intentions, it is extremely unadvisable that you create an article about the company you own/work for. This would be a strong conflict of interest and against Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Besides that, I'm afraid your account name is not permitted as per Wikipedia's username policies. Please let me know if I can be of any further help. Rkieferbaum (talk) 19:12, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Space772 (04:19, 17 January 2024)

Where would I go to talk about merging a article because this page should be about Japanese joinery but is instead about a banner that there is already a page for this comment sums up the situation well https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sashimono#%E6%8C%87%E3%81%97%E7%89%A9_=_Cabinetmaking? --Space772 (talk) 04:19, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I want to write an article about my employer, which does not have a page. It looks like I am discouraged from doing so. Is there a site to recommend an article for another editor to cover? --551.JMR (talk) 15:15, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@551.JMR: Hi there! That is correct. I'm sure you realize why and I appreciate your attention to Wikipedia's recommendations. If you're sure your employer meets the general and/or specific notability guidelines, feel free to suggest its article for creating in Wikipedia:Requested articles.
