Brendan Brown (born 20 August 1989) is a United States real estate agent focusing on the Los Angeles and New York markets. He joined Tal and Oren Alexander's brokerage OFFICIAL in late 2023[1]. In December 2023, he was announced as Official's first PRODIGY,[2] being the first agent to launch the program on the West Coast.

A statement from Official describes Prodigy "as an artificial intelligence-driven program that evaluates an agent’s potential to be a future top producer. Brendan Brown is the first West Coast-based agent who was invited to participate in Prodigy. The program includes mentoring from the Alexander brothers.[3]

Early life

Brendan Brown was born and raised in Newport Beach, CA. He is the oldest of three boys, Blaine Brown an attorney, and Barrett Brown a firefighter. He attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where he played water polo and swam. He graduated magna cum laude from Chapman University with a BA in finance and business administration in 2011.

He started his real estate career at 18, and Brendan co-founded his own boutique real estate brokerage Bespoke Realty, at age 23, in Newport Beach, CA.[4]

He relocated to New York City in 2017 to elevate his career, where he began to work on both coasts and abroad. Brendan returned to California in 2020 after getting sober.

Brendan Brown co-founded Bespoke Realty in 2012.

Upon relocating to New York City in 2017, Brendan moved into the Soho Grand Hotel before moving into his apartment at the Hadid Building, located on the High Line at 520 W 28th. Shortly after arriving, Brendan Brown signed with Douglas Elliman and Knight Frank[5] working out of the Flatiron Building.

During his time in New York, he made multiple media appearances on multiple episodes of Million Dollar Listing New York, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and Public Figure.[6] In May 2018, Brendan Brown signed with Waxman Leavell Literary Agency to publish an autobiographical book.[7]

After relocating to Los Angeles in 2021, he joined Kurt Rappaport at Westside Estate Agency and resumed his career in California.[8] He continued to garner media recognition in relation to his real estate career, clients, and non-stop social life. He once again appearing on Bravo’s tv Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.[9]

In December 2023, he was invited to join Official and launch Prodigy in Los Angeles, catapulting his career. “We warmly welcome Brendan Brown to OFFICIAL and the PRODIGY program. In January 2024, he was named by Elite Traveler as Luxury Real Estate's NEXT Billion dollar agent.[10]

Media

2023 saw an increase in media recognition for Brendan Brown, his clients, and the properties he represented.[11] He represented a $16.5 million Bel Air mansion inspired by Hypercars[12], and a Malibu lot that once complete would list for $40 million dollars.[13] The tour of the Malibu lot with Duke and Duchess of Sussexx garnered 200 media articles around the world in less than 30 minutes.[14]

After sales in the summer of 2023 included media personality Adin Ross,[15] Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Nate Pearson, and royals; Prince Harry[16] and Meghan Markle[17]. The media interest in Brendan continued to grow.[18]

Media, Fashion, Art

Brendan Brown launched a men's fashion and lifestyle blog, Mr. BGB, in late 2016[19]. That same month, he launched his personal contributor panel with Huffington Post[20]. He has written for esteemed publications like GQ, HYPEBEAST, Mr. Porter, and Men’s Fashion Post, with his insights and perspectives garnering widespread acclaim. He is counted among the exclusive GQ, Mr. Porter, and Travel + Leisure Insiders.

His collaborations with various fashion and lifestyle brands have further cemented his reputation as one of New York City’s distinguished Men About Town, as he was dubbed by Page Six in 2019.[21]

During New York Fashion Week in 2017, he served as the creative director for artist Domingo Zapata's first fashion show, LOVEXFASHIONXART.[22]

Brendan previously resided at the Chateau Marmont hotel multiple times throughout the years, in 2012, 2016, & 2017.[23]

In 2016, Brendan was in a relationship with English actor Jonathan Bailey. As of 2019, Brendan Brown has remained sober after battles with alcohol.[24]

Brendan Brown married David Vrbecky at the Chateau Marmont and Sunset Tower Hotel on December 16th, 2023.[25] He currently resides in Los Angeles with his husband David and their goldendoodle Harry.

Philanthropy

Brendan has volunteered with wild lions at the African Wild Lion Conservation Project in South Africa since 2011, visiting South Africa 8 times to do so.[26]

In 2018, Brendan was one of four of the founding members of the Young Professionals Committee of the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research[27]. In 2023, he co-chaired the foundation's Angel Ball and raised $2.8 million dollars.
