Deepali Sathe is an Indian playback singer and composer,[1] known for songs from movies like Ankur Arora Murder Case, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Hamari Adhuri Kahani.[2]
Early life and background
Sathe hails from Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. Born on August 13, she started singing Bhajans at Shri Satya Sai Seva Samiti, Dewas at the age of three. She learned Hindustani singing first from Geeta Dandekar and then from Lalita Shankar Pandit, who was a disciple of Ustad Rajab Ali Khan. In 2008, she participated in the Zee TV reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009, in which she was a finalist.
Singing career
After Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Deepali started singing jingles and doing voice-overs. Later, she sang for movies such as Jodhaa Akbar, Ankur Arora Murder Case, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Hamari Adhuri Kahani. She has sung in many languages, including regional languages such as Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, and Telugu.[3]
