Yasmeen Tahir is a Pakistani actress, radio artist, host and writer. She worked for Radio Pakistan for more than three decades.[2]
Early life and education
In an interview, she said that She used to go to All India Radio (AIR) when she was a little girl and her house was near the home of radio artist Mohini Hameed: the latter used to take her to AIR after the Partition of India before she migrated with her parents to Pakistan and settled at Lahore.[3] She and her husband Naeem Tahir[4] moved to America. Yasmeen settled in California and she studied theater at the University of California.[3]
Career
Yasmeen Tahir joined the Pakistan Radio in 1958 also she first hosted a show about western music and worked there for 37 years.[5]
In 1970 she interview ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan on Radio Pakistan and she asked about his entry in the music industry.[6]
In 2015 she was honored by the Government of Pakistan with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for her role as radio talk show host.[7]
In 2018 she was in the cast in the drama Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderellayain along with Shabnam, Naeem Tahir, Faryal Gohar and Usama Khan.[8]
