Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 20:14, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Why does there need to be a gay icon category? There is not a heterosexual icon category. It's just superfluous categorization.--Filthy swine 18:15, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
'Gay Icon' is a commonly used term. And besides, you might not like it, but in our society if something's different we do label it. Like, in an article about someone, it would always say if someone was gay or something, but hardly ever if they were straight. I accosiate myself with the GLBT community and I don't really mind. I certainly don't mind there being a section called 'gay icon'.

Galanis Case

What about mentioning the Galanis case, Campbell's voilent and abusive behavior toward her assistant, and her coccaine addiction?

>>>After reading about the 'cell phone', the 'blackberry' and the other 'jewel encrusted cell phone' assaults, I think someone should start a page labeled "Personal Consumer Electronics as Weapons"

Jehovah's Witness

As far as I know, she is not one of Jehovha's Witnesses. Her mother is one, but that is not making her one. Summer Song 08:35, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Piers Morgan quote

Italic textMirror editor Piers Morgan said at the time "This is a very good day for lying drug-abusing prima donnas who want to have their cake with the media, and the right to then shamelessly guzzle it with their Cristal champagne. Five senior judges found for the Mirror throughout the various hearings in this case, four for Naomi Campbell. Yet she wins. If ever there was a less deserving case for creating what is effectively a back door privacy law it would be Ms Campbell, but that's showbiz."Italic text

The inclusion of this statement seems to prejudice the reader against Naomi Campbell (whom personally I can't stand) and hence violate NPOV. 24.215.179.72 03:01, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it violates WP:NPOV, since it is a direct quote attributed to someone whose anti-Campbell bias is made obvious in the article. It would be nice, however, if it were balanced by a relevant quote from, say, Campbell or her legal representation. Also, the quote needs a source so that it can be verified. (I'll add a {{fact}} tag to indicate this.) dbtfztalk 03:20, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are those quotes really true??If they are they make Naoimi seem like areal loser24.66.94.140 22:04, 13 July 2006 (UTC)hope.[reply]

Can someone change his heading?

I called it "Legal Troubles", but i don't like it. My original choice was "encounters with the law", but that doesn't easily include the newspaper case. Amo 01:21, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

what's wrong with it? i think it works fine. Joeyramoney 23:46, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

Parts of the article read like a fan gushing over her. "To date she is among the most covered models ever and the most covered Black Star ever" in bold is not what I call neutral, especially not backed up with any soft of statistics.

I have just undertaken a re-deit, although the article is still a bit "gushy" and mainly unreferenced -0 there's lot more on her early career that needs to be added, and the topline is tosh. Will look at further, but at present keep the POV tag. Rgds, - Trident13 10:44, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Magazine cover

Let's just hope this edition was not just intended as a way for lately adding a (non notable) magazine cover image to depict Ms. Campbell. --Abu Badali 14:42, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Earnings

A while ago, there was posted, her $28,000,000 reportedly earned from her modelling career, which I think should be reposted.

Also, why does Wikipedia remove the photos? I mean, isn't the entire idea of a supermodel mean your career revolves around photos being taken of you? I'm positive it isn't too hard to find an appropriate photograph for the article.

It needs to be freely-licensed. It seems we found one that was. Daniel Case

Stranded

I just read on Attack of the Show's Feed that Campbell's assistant was also stranded in Morrocco after Naomi ripped up her passport, is that true? --D-hyo 16:26, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image!!

How can there be no picture for Naomi Campbell? It makes no sense!

Maybe you can take one for us. Kaldari 06:00, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'mixed race'

Why refer to her as 'dark'? or Mixed race? She as well as the rest of the planet see her as being black, bias? whitewashing her 'blackness'? I reverted the original text. On the intro it says that she's 25% Asian, I left that in, but the other sections referencing her 'darkness' is out.

orry in advance, i do not know how to sign my comments. but how can she be half 'african-american' when she was born in england?! and she is only about 1/8th chinese, just like 80% of the caribbean is mixed. most of us would just consider that black, but apparently someone dug up her ancestry to make her seem more exotic. anyway, maybe i'm wrong, maybe she is proud of her chinese heritage...so i'm gonna change it to 1/8th chinese but i'm removing the african american thing cause that's just silly. (edit: actually, someone changed it before i did, so i'm leaving it like it is) 24.208.190.20Entropy9

Temper tantrums

Clearly the girl has trouble keeping her temper in check, but let's not be harsher on her than the facts warrant. The "no show" thing is especially serious, because it implies deliberate and premeditated evasion of the law (not just a momentary lapse).

The story I read just before coming here was that her attorney had already worked out a deal with the prosecutor. [1] --Uncle Ed 14:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Has had over 50 abortions"

Is this true? That's shocking.

I find it hard to believe. There is no source.

Music

The music section seems a bit biased. It doesn't say anything about how her solo album was rated one of the worst albums of all time, I think by Q magazine, and it was totally panned by critics upon it's release. 80.41.114.64 19:40, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool as Ice

After watching the video for "Cool as Ice (Everybody Get Loose)" from the Vanilla Ice movie she was in - I noticed she sang the chorus ... did she sing it in real life or was she just lip syncing for the video?

Is she actually a racing car

It seems Naomi has been linked to racing driver Lewis Hamilton. Just wondering how many drivers and team bosses has she had now. Mind you I suppose it gives them something to talk about at after race parties. I wonder if they all gather round over a beer and discuss Naomi's "telemetry" and the best way to drive her. ROFL

If it was her, shouldn't it be added to the music section of her bio? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.2.175.134 (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
