The Suite Life on Deck is a spin-off of the Disney Channel Original Series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. It follows brothers Zack and Cody Martin and hotel heiress London Tipton moving to a new home, The S.S. Tipton, where they attend classes, make new friends and get into mischief.[2] The show's premiere on the Disney Channel drew 5.7 million viewers,[3] and it became the most-watched series premiere on Canada's Family channel.[4] The show was also TV's No. 1 scripted series in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 in 2008, outpacing veteran series Hannah Montana and The Wizards of Waverly Place in the ratings.[5]
The show was created by Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan. Returning stars for the series are Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse, Brenda Song, and Phill Lewis.[2] Newcomers for the series includes Debby Ryan, Matthew Timmons, and Erin Cardillo.[6][7][8]
The premiere episode aired in the UK on September 19, 2008, and in US markets on September 26, 2008.[7] The series is shot at Hollywood Center Studios in Los Angeles. The pilot was available as a free download on the American iTunes store starting on September 9, 2008, but later moved to the regular price of $1.99.
Premise
According to show creators and producers, the choice of setting was made to appeal to an international audience with different ports-of-call. An on-board theater features as an "organic" set-up for musical numbers.[2]
Maddie, who played the Candy Counter girl is now a visitor on the S.S Tipton. An episode will be aired on Friday, January 16, 2009 of her coming onto the cruise.

Characters
Zack and Cody Martin
The Martin twins are on the luxury passenger cruise liner The S.S. Tipton where they attend classes at Seven Seas High, but still get into mischief. Zack Martin (Dylan Sprouse) is typically the unstudious, outgoing twin and runs the juice bar on the ship.[9] His brother Cody Martin (Cole Sprouse) is the erudite, mature, and sensitive twin who is a straight-A student. He often plays along with his brother's crazy schemes. He shows less interest in girls than his brother until he meets Bailey, though his "sensitivity" usually gets him the girls. Zack usually picks on his brother a lot, but becomes very protective of him when someone else does. Cody has a crush on Bailey. On the ship Cody is the towel boy.[9]
London Tipton
London Tipton (Brenda Song) is the daughter of a wealthy man named Wilfred Tipton, the owner of the Tipton Hotel and the S.S. Tipton. She is a dim-witted, spoiled, rich, and an often airheaded teenager. When she is happy, she usually claps her hands repeatedly while saying her catchphrase, "Yay me!". Though it seems like London may lead the ultimate rich-girl life, her childhood was not perfect. Constantly her parents were away running the hotel in different areas of the world. On the S.S. Tipton, London reluctantly agrees to accept Bailey Pickett (Debby Ryan) as her new roommate. The two later become friends.
Bailey Pickett
Bailey Pickett (Debby Ryan) is a 15 year old small town girl from KettleCorn, a fictional town in Kansas. She shares a room with London Tipton. Bailey is a student at Seven Seas High and attends classes with new friends Zack, Cody, London and Woody. She came on the ship to leave the farm because she hates the fact that the town is so small. She pretends to be a boy in the premiere in order to get a room. Eventually, she moves in with London when people find out she is a girl. During the show they make many cracks about Kansas as a unsophisticated farmland where everyone has animals. In the beginning of the second episode, Zack and Cody were both fighting over Bailey since they both seemed to have a crush on her. But in the end, when they knew more about Bailey's life and her ex boyfriend, Zack lets Cody have Bailey claiming that Bailey was carrying too much baggage and that he liked girls with just carry-ons.
Marion Moseby
Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis), formerly the uptight and serious manager of the Boston Tipton Hotel in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, is now the chaperone and manager on the S.S. Tipton. He was hoping to take a break from the boys (Zack and Cody) for a while, but that all ended when he first saw them come aboard the ship in the first episode: The Suite Life Set's Sail. Several times during the show Zack and Cody have attempted to set him up with their teacher, but so far their attempts have been unsuccessful.
