:I think 2003 reimagining should remain, and fix the other article so there is less repetition, instead have them refer to 2003 article. I also think a 1978 article should be written as the complement to the 2003 article, and similarly fix the movie, original TV series and 1980 articles. images

There are currently several BSG images listed on User:Matthew's talk page that are tagged by BetaCommandbot. Since Matthew is no longer active on Wikipedia, i thought I would notify the project, perhaps you guys can take care of them. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 18:15, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded some replacement images so far only for the humanoid cylons. Hopefully these are not removed. Canez (talk) 17:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colonial Viper

I'm cleaning up the Colonial Viper page and I need a bit of help. It's long and has lots of technical details but is short on sourcing. Any help would be appreciated. --Sharkface217 02:56, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Downloaded"

Hi. I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Does anyone want a go at rewriting the article Downloaded (Battlestar Galactica) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)? It's part of an idea I've had to get all of the 2007 Hugo Award for Dramatic Presentation, Short Form nominees in a featured topic - it doesn't need to be an FA, just a GA (two of the episodes for that award are doing well at FAC right now). Thanks, Will (talk) 20:16, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Centralized TV Episode Discussion

Over the past months, TV episodes have been redirected by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. Even if you have not, other opinions are needed because this issue is affecting all TV episodes in Wikipedia. --Maniwar (talk) 03:05, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

character images

Did anyone notice that the character images are being sent for deletion, due to bad fair-use rationales? 132.205.44.5 (talk) 01:27, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Guidelines

WP:FICT has been revised

WP:FICT, the notability guideline for elements within a work of fiction (characters, places, elements, etc) has a new proposal/revision that is now live [2] Everyone is encouraged to leave feedback on the talk page. Ned Scott 22:12, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Notability (serial works)

There is a proposal to split WP:EPISODE into a more general notability guideline, Wikipedia:Notability (serial works), and make the rest of WP:EPISODE just a MOS guideline. Please join in at WT:EPISODE#Proposed split of EPISODE and/or Wikipedia talk:Notability (serial works). -- Ned Scott 22:12, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An article from this project, Downloaded (Battlestar Galactica) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), is part of a featured topic nomination for the 2007 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Horm. Feel free to leave comments. Will (talk) 01:13, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And, as it's wholly relevant, Downloaded (Battlestar Galactica) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is a GA, the first BSG one, I think. Will (talk) 11:44, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Boxey merges

There are currently 3 versions of Boxey out there Boxey, Boxey (Battlestar Galactica) and Captain Troy all started in Nov. '06 with in a few days/hours of each other. I currently have nominated Boxey and Boxey (BSG) to be merged together, as the pages redupe info and the are both stubs. I would encourage a full Boxey merge to help the character to still have a page, as currently there is a wave of AfD for the fictional genres. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 03:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC).[reply]

The BSG copy is a dab page. Merge the TOS Boxey page into a list of minor characters, which we currently don't have for TOS or 1980. We also are missing Lt. Dillon, a main character from 1980... 70.55.84.89 (talk) 05:28, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Diana Seelix nominated for deletion

Cylon characters

I've noticed that in the humanoid cylon articles, each is referred to differently. For instance Number Six is referred to as Number Six while Number Five is referred to as Aaron Doral. Since the articles are about each model of cylon should we be referring to them as their official model number (where applicable)? I say this because particularly in the case of Aaron Doral, he is only one copy of that particular model yet the article kinda assumes each copy is named Doral. It's possible that that may be the case but we haven't had any information to date which confirms or denies this and, like the other models, shouldn't we assume that various copies would have different names? Such as the case with Number Six. Simply for the sake of consistency across those particular articles. Canez (talk) 00:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Battlestar Wiki aritlce has been nominated for deletion for the third time. Feel free to add your comments to the corresponding discussion.--DrWho42 (talk) 18:00, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The result was delete. If the matter is closed, shouldn't such should be reflected here? -- Harshael (talk) 23:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, right now the old page merely redirects to the External links section of the Battlestar Galactica article. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Mail Me 01:45, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: Challenge to Episode Guide Notability

Just as an FYI, Talk:Guess What's Coming to Dinner? has a tag up for notability. When I checked to see the rationale, they basically took the position that episode guides in general are inappropriate. So presumably if they can get this one deleted then they will attempt to delete more episodes. I'm not in this wikiproject, but I think this is relevant to the entire project (and presumably projects for other shows as well). Wellspring (talk) 13:06, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was toying around with an idea. Getting the List of BSG episodes up to GA quality, and then making the argument that each episode is a breakout article of that main article. Just a strategy that popped into my mind. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 03:31, 17 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]

WikiProject Media franchises

Dear WikiProject Battlestar Galactica participants...WikiProject Media franchises needs some help from other projects which are similar. Media franchises' scope deals primarily with the coordination of articles within the hundreds if not thousands of media franchises which exist. Sometimes a franchise might just need color coordination of the various templates used; it could mean creating an article for the franchise as a jump off point for the children of it; or the creation of a new templating system for media franchise articles. The project primarily focuses on multimedia franchises. It would be great if some of this project's participants would come over and help the project get back on solid footing. Also, if you know of similar projects which have not received this, let Lady Aleena (talk · contribs) know. Please come and take a look at the project and see if you wish to lend a hand. You can sign up here if you wish. Thank you. LA @ 05:01, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Franchise naming convention discussion at WikiProject Media franchises

Dear WikiProject Battlestar Galactica participants...WikiProject Media franchises is currently discussing a naming convention for franchise articles. Since this may affect one or more articles in your project, we would like to get the opinions of all related projects before implimenting any sweeping changes. Please come and help us decide. Thanks! Re-direct move request at Talk:Sine Qua Non

quick question

Does this WikiProject have an SOP dictating the miniseries to be an episode of the 2004 re-imagined TV series? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 01:21, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major spoiling of character development

I wanted to check a character but had not yet seen Season 3. Simply by navigating wikipedia, I could not avoid learning who the final five cylons are. That was quite a thing to disclose and finding out about this major plot twist it somewhat spoilt Season 3. It is usual that there is a spoiler alert. These should be added. Secondly, the characters do not need to be divided up into human and cylons in the navigation bar. That should be changed. --Lawe (talk) 06:15, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It hasn't been "usual" to add spoiler alerts to WP articles for a long time now. That said, it should probably be rewritten to avoid disclosing this information unless the reader willfully looks for it. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 10:14, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...is in bad need of an update. Its talk page wasn't even tagged with the project banner until I got there just now. Hasn't been updated to even include the already-released webisodes. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 10:12, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Triad/Pyramid

Triad (sport)/Pyramid (sport) is up for deletion at AfD 76.66.198.171 (talk) 04:25, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've started a discussion on creating articles for the individual seasons of BSG (i.e. Stargate SG-1 (season 1), The Wire (season 1)). You can comment on it here.--Marcus Brute (talk) 01:37, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since I don't actually have a wikipedia username, I'm not going to edit this bit myself, but I couldn't help notice that everytime Bill Adama is mentioned, the author of the article refers to him as Commander Adama. Now unless I've missed an episode, and he was stripped of rank, he's still an Admiral. I'm fairly certain that it would still link back to his page even if it said his proper rank instead of Commander.

A Few Proposals

I've recently returned to editing Wikipedia and have found a few things that I think need to be mentioned about articles to do with the new series. First, why is there a page on the 2003 Reimagining when it contains infomation similar to that on the main BSG page, the reimagining article should be merged with the main page and the miniseries page, as there is alot of duplicate information on those pages.

Also I have noticed that a lot of the BSG episode articles are up for notability guidelines, because of this I think we should do what has been done with the Stargate SG-1 season articles, and have a basic episode list and then a seperate page for each season of BSG with production and reception details, whislt selecting the more notable episodes to have seperate articles.

I won't go ahead with these changes until I hear from some people on this project and if you have any different ideas. So post your opinions, if I don't receive any I will assume your agreement and go ahead with my ideas. --Mollsmolyneux (talk) 17:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
