Reduced Thumbnail Sizes

Who did that? Who reduced the pictures of her previous albums and her films to a smaller than thumbnail size? It would look great if it was a bit bigger.Acerious (talk) 22:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biggie

Was she really in Born Again? The oldest I know is the get out one, if she was born in 1990, this means she was only 9.. So is it true that someone that Younf sang w/ Biggie? Even if it was an album w/ old clips, thats amazing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.153.204.116 (talkcontribs)

No, that was not this JoJo. It was Jo-Jo from K-Ci and JoJo. Funk Junkie 19:39, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In the 2Pac song Thug N Me Thug N you [and the remix] there is a JoJo, it says something about K-Ci, so its different JoJo??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.153.204.116 (talkcontribs)
Yes, this 2Pac song features the duo K-Ci and JoJo. Also, JoJo is not the kind of artist who collaborates with these hardcore rappers. *lol* Funk Junkie 22:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why did disney ask her?

the 1st person disney asked to be hannah montana was jojo. why would they ask her? why dont they include this in the ariticle? jojo thought she was to good for disney, so she refused. and when they gave the part to miley cyrus, jojo got mad and, according to an itunes review, spread a terrible rumor that miley was pregnant.

Encyclopedic nature of a description of her favorite underwear?

Is it really encyclopedic to discuss the favortie underwear of a juvenile popstar? Youngamerican 18:44, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, its good to see that it has been removed. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 18:26, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It wouldn't neccessarily be unencyclopedic, if it was sourced. But it wasn't. Alex43223 Talk | Contribs | E-mail | C 06:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vocal Profile

It seems somewhat...inaccurate. JoJo, for one, is not a soprano to begin with. And the highest/lowest notes should be verified. Additionally, I suppose the structure of that section could be laid out in a more coherent manner. Highconclave 04:18, 7 February 2006 (UTC) Can she really hit the whistle registry? I have to agree with highconclave, is she even a soprano? 2pweety4u 08:05 26 October 2006 (UTC) She hits whistle registry at the ned of 'Too Lttle Too Late'. 80.43.9.157 12:41, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No she cant hit notes in the whistle register. Her highest note is Eb6 in The High Road. In order to be included in the whistle register category the artist must be able to hit E6 and above. Citation is also needed for this. There is no citation for her Eb6 or any of her high notes that I have found, so I have removed her. DO NOT READD HER. Snail2 07:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have read on musesmuse that she is a mezzo-soprano which would kinda fit considering she can reach some higher notes, but the majority of her range is very much alto I think with a spinto/lyric quality to it.82.27.237.104 14:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

She really isn't lesbian, I don't hear anything in that song what would make her a lesbian. And she had a boyfriend, Freddy Adu, but that's over now Ajox 19:22, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um I appreciate the effort there, jt_200075, but you're both wrong. The song is like instructions for a GUY on how to touch a girl's HEART. And the IP- address kid above you is completely wrong and probably hadn't even heard the song. --I'm Kinda Awesome... 14:42, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Footnotes

I don't know what the problem is, so I can't fix it myself, but the footnotes are definitely weird. It goes 1-2, with 1 being blank, and then 1-2 again with the same info, just in a bigger font. - JNighthawk 04:12, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quit hating on her!! you know shes a great singer so shut up!

Jojo or Levesque?

I have noticed that throughout the article, JoJo is referred to as "JoJo." In articles like Fergie (singer), Fergie is referred to as "Fergie" briefly, and then it switches to "Ferguson." Shouldn't this article refer to JoJo as Levesque? JoJo, like Fergie, is technically a stage name. I'd like to have a consensus before doing a major edit like this. Acalamari 19:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, actually Levesque is her last name-Jojo's real first name is Joanna(Jojo is her nickname!), whereas Fergie is a nickname shortening her LAST name!!!

Actually, "Fergie" is not a shortening of "Ferguson," it is actually a nickname. This is why I asked this question, but no one has responded to it except you. Until I gain consensus, I will not do this major edit to the article. Acalamari 21:28, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JoJo is a nickname of Joanna. Levesque is her last name. I don't know if you still need imput on that, but that's true. JoJo is a nickname from her real name Joanna. SIDE NOTE: Also there is no way she can be 15 and born in 1990. It's not possible. Considering I was born in 90 myself and I turned 17 this year. Her site says she is 15 unless I am missing something. Ourdestiny 12:17, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

To start with, please refrain from using talk pages to launch personal attacks on the subjects of articles. Wikipedia policy clearly condemns such attacks. And, more to the point, the title of this article is "JoJo." So if you do a search for "JoJo," you'll come straight to this page anyway, without any redirection. If you're looking for something other than JoJo the singer, be more specific with your search queries. The tag at the top of the page provides a link to a disambiguation page, which lists other articles that are somehow related to the term "JoJo."--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 02:39, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor vandilism

There has been a minor vandalism in the Personal Life section of JoJo's article by "217.43.175.65"

"JoJo also thinks that Stephanie of JoJoFanBoards is a big piece of sexual milk chocolate. Thats right."

I have removed that line from the article

Another vandalism removed on 31st Jan 2008, from her personal life section.

"She was seen on two adverts for an unknown footwear company after her bare feet were spotted by a photographer, the pictures showed her bare feet." [spaced[spacedImage:Jojosfeet.JPG|right|thumb|Jojo's bare feet]!]

Seriously, i think we have got to request another protection level to JoJo's page if stuff keeps happening —Preceding unsigned comment added by Acerious (talkcontribs) 04:40, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

JoJo is a niece of WWE wrestler Triple H...? HAHAHA I don't think so. Just because they share the same last name, doesn't mean they're related to stupid wiki spammers. Removed as of 28th April 08. Acerious (talk) 22:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading statements

Previously, this article stated that her birth name was "Blagden" and provided a source at Ancestry.com. Now it says in the infobox that her birth name was "Levesque", but in the introduction it says she changed her name from "Blagden". Can anyone find a reliable source for this? Also, the last one was removed despite the fact that it was valid. Alex43223 T | C | E 03:43, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It says on her IMDb biography that Blagden is her mother's last name, and the one she was born with, but she changed it to Levesque, her father's last name. Eliz81 19:24, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well Wikipedia Admins remove valid facts all the time. True anyone can edit wikipedia, but Admins can block people, entire entries and basically do whatever they want. Try to make a 100% verifiable factual entry on something they don't like and it will be removed and you may even be banned. I did just that with an entry on encyclopediadramatic.com I have no idea what stupid petty fight some wikipedia admins must have had with the encyclopediadramatica.com folks but you cant make a NPOV verifiable factual page on them. I've had 3 Admins refuse to tell me why they act contrary to the Wikipedia's own rules. Thats why I quit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.130.84 (talk)

Jojo cover of sean kingston song

jojo has done a cover of his song, but some people say she did the song first but then didnt want it so they gave it to sean..i dont which is true but should it be added in her Discography that she has done this song? heres the URL from youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuTyyoZb2es

The song is called "Beautiful Girls Reply" so you probably should. Unless she did do the song and didn't want it and gave it to Sean and wanted it again so she did a reply. But still you should. --Blackleopard11 00:41, 14 August 2007 (UTC) (Talk to me!)[reply]

JoJo was born in 1990 and that terror train movie was released in 1980-so why does the article say that she was in the movie and anyways she like singing more than acting.

Whistle Register

this needs citation before adding to this category. simply stating it or using a tuner is not enough. PLEASE DO NOT READD THIS ARTICLE UNTIL A VALID REFENCE IS FOUND. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Snail2 (talkcontribs) 07:57, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

uhhhh...helllo!!!! this page was cited for this back in 2006! If everyone would take the damn time to actually read the page you guys might have seen it for yourself! It's under "high road" sub section, I'm tired of people deleting crap without making even the slightest effort to check the page first...it even has a blue link embedded in the article that says "whistle register" so that the citation following it should be easy to find. Sorry if I seem more than a little perturbed, but I'm tired of re-adding this page everyother day because no one wants to read through it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by AquaMaree (talkcontribs) 03:46, 20 November 2007 (UTC) Here is the section if you don not wish to look for it: This song has been JoJo's most successful single in the U.S. so far. It also showcases that JoJo is capable of hitting notes in the whistle register. The October 27, 2006 issue of Entertainment Weekly refers to JoJo in the review for her latest album as "a vocal phenomenon, capable of Mariah Carey-style upper register flourishes". —Preceding unsigned comment added by AquaMaree (talkcontribs) 03:50, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't cite that she is a whistle register singer. The cite claims that she can use "upper register flourishes" which is not the same as being able to consistently sing in the whistle register. I'll change the text so it does not state "whistle register" to prevent further confusion. --Yamla (talk) 16:45, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, now I am thoroughly confused. Is the ability to add "upper register flourishes", perhaps through Protools, the same as generally being able to sing in the whistle register? I thought not but I personally can't sing in any register. Comments? --Yamla (talk) 16:49, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to re add her because this has already been discussed 8000 times on the whistle cat's page! The term Whistle register was practically coined by wikipedeans and is not a standard term used by music journalists or vocal teachers alike; which is why it was decided that references to Mariah or Minnie would be considered acceptable because they are both known for using this register, and due to the "no original research clause" wikipedia has, it is not up to you or anyone else to second guess a proffesional source's(such as entertainment weekly's music editor) judgement that the vocal is or is not truly a "whistle". Based on that logic, if a journalist or other proffesional source makes a statement we are to treat it as fact and therefore I feel it is acceptable to re-add JoJo to the category in question. Anyone looking for more info should take the time to actually read the whistle cat disscusion page, it is all there. ("See jojo edits" sub section for full discussion) —Preceding unsigned comment added by AquaMaree (talkcontribs) 07:29, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is correct if and only if the citation states that she is a whistle register singer. If it does not, it is original research for us to claim she is. The source does not seem to do so. Given that you believe "whistle register singer" was coined by Wikipedia, though, you should probably consider nominating that page and category for deletion. --Yamla (talk) 15:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you even read the disscusion? All of reasoning is there, and by the way on my user page you said the source was okay about a year ago, and now you are going back on your word, so my question is, why was it up to your standards then, but not now? Furthermore, why aren't you attacking every other page in that category...not one single article (save for Mariahs)contains a citation that specifically says "Whistle Register"! Why? Because it is a new term not commonly used in music journalism, as most proffesionals still use the terms "Falsetto" or "upper register" when describing a female who sings in the soprano high C. The questionable term "Dog Whistle" is as close as it gets when it comes to music reviews and bios pertaining to a particular artist which is why an accomodation had to be made, otherwise we'd be leading all of America to believe that Mariah Carey is the only person in the world who can sing in this register ...which is obviously not true and all because we have chosen to focus all of our attentions on a WORD rather than it's MEANING. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AquaMaree (talkcontribs) 03:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs a significant overhaul to maintain it's GA statues. All the fact tags need replacing with reliable sources and these sources need formatting correctly. The article needs a huge expansion in regards to the artistry of this young lady. The article simply isn't broad enough. Thirdly, it needs a huge MoS and language clean up. — Realist2 21:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
