The Simpsons' twenty-second season is expected to start airing on Fox during Autumn 2010 and is expected to end in Spring 2011. The Simpsons was renewed for at least two additional seasons during the twentieth season leading up to this season.[1]

Known plots and guest stars
- In the episode "The Fight Before Christmas" “Marge Simpson receives a nighttime visit from the most powerful force in the universe who teaches her the true meaning of Christmas: Martha Stewart. The episode will be Dan Castellaneta and Deb Lacusta first writing credit since "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore" which was written four years ago.[7]
- Maggie goes missing again.[9]
- Homer becomes a hairdresser.[9]
- Moe Syzlak turns his bar into an ultra-trendy bar.[9]
- "Treehouse of Horror XXI", to air in 2010 as part of season 22, will feature a segment that parodies the Twilight novel and film series. Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter film series, will guest star in the segment.[10] Hugh Laurie will guest star in a segment that parodies Dead Calm.[11]
- Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley, Mark Zuckerberg, Mike Scioscia, Martha Stewart and Alyson Hannigan are slated to guest star during the season.[9]
