Hello Ukexpat. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of :Nhs Alliance, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This was a reasonable tag, as the article does not assert significance or importance, but a Google search suggests that this is in fact probably notable. Consider PROD or AfD, but give some time for the article to be sourced and expanded. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 21:47, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Dear Ukexpat, I believe you helped add a logo in the infobox of the article about Movie Review Intelligence. I am the editor and publisher of that web site. Is it possible to change he logo to something a bit more legible? I have something that would work better, something similar to what I've seen in other articles. If so, how would I get it to you? I would prefer to email it as an attachment. Is that possible? Any help would be appreciated. Best regards, David A. Gross, Editor & Publisher, Movie Review Intelligence Dagrossla (talk) 23:44, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

The Guild of Copy-Editors – September 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive

The Wikipedia Guild of Copy-Editors invite you to participate in the September 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive, a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy-editing. The drive will begin on 1 September at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on 30 September at 23:59 (UTC). The goals for this drive are to eliminate 2008 from the queue and to reduce the backlog to fewer than 5,000 articles.

Sign-up has already begun at the September drive page, and will be open throughout the drive. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message on the drive's talk page.

Before you begin copy-editing, please carefully read the instructions on the main drive page. Please make sure that you know how to copy-edit, and be familiar with the Wikipedia Manual of Style.

Awards and barnstars
A range of barnstars will be awarded to active participants. Some are exclusive to GoCE drives. More information on awards can be found on the main drive page.

Thank you; we look forward to meeting you on the drive!

Files for upload

Hi, thanks for helping review some requests earlier. If you decline a request, could you section them off (if not already in a separate section) and collapse it using at the top and at the bottom, to save space and so the bot can archive each individual section? I know FFU is constantly backlogged, but this will help in organization at least somewhat. Thanks! fetch·comms 21:49, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Russian Airplay Chart

By removing the links, you destroyed the easiest method of removing all the references to the Russian airplay chart. Any way to fire up Twinkle to either undo what you have done, or to finish the job by actually removing all the chart entries? Now that it's listed on WP:BADCHARTS, it has to be removed from all the song articles that reference it.—Kww(talk) 15:37, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing it. You aren't the first. When the "Arc Top 40" was removed, an editor went through with AWB and removed the phrase "Arc Top 40" wherever it appeared: in the middle of chart entries, in the middle of sentences, in the middle of headers. It took months to fix that up.—Kww(talk) 16:00, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ukexpat, there is a discussion going on about the accuracy of this article, This article startted as Thothaal/Thathaal, you had "(moved Thothaal/Thathaal to Thothaal: more appropriate - will create a redirect for the other spelling)" 28th feburary 2008, (I have copied this from the View History of the article). This article started as about the Rajput people, but later the article was hijacked by some who removed all those and made the article into about Jatt clan, the title got changed from Thothaal to Thathaal. According to my knowledge the name of the group is Thothal/Thothaal, and this group is Rajput and not Jatts. Since you once changed the title of the article, I wonder if you have some knowledge about the topic. If so, I would like to invite you to contribute in the discussion which is going in the discussion page. RegardsJogibaba (talk) 18:35, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hackney (2)

You don't happen to have a RS that says where Jeffrey Hackney was educated, do you? I see he has a BCL and an MA, but from which college? BencherliteTalk 22:30, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both at Wadham - he was a student of Peter Carter. Unfortunately I don't have an RS, but let me see if I can find one. He was also Vinerian Scholar and did his pupillage with Nicholas Browne-Wilkinson - will look for sources for those too. – ukexpat (talk) 01:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cycling shoe edit

Hi,

I am curious why you edited the cycling shoe reference and without comment. I recently put in quite a few updates and changes to the entry and had plans to do additional edits to that entry and also the bicycle pedal entry and probably some others. The information in both was and is quite old and out of date. I'm new at this so I did a poor job with my references and I hope to improve.

The biggest thing I think you changed about the cycling shoe entry was the links to companies selling shoes. Was including those a Wikipedia foul? I think it's helpful for people reading to see there are a lot of options in cycling shoes, especially custom brands and lesser known brands. Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Mildly interesting, but a complete spamfest and rightly deleted from the article several times. – ukexpat (talk) 19:38, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More on the cycling shoe edit

Hi again,

Thanks for the reply. I would argue that since nearly every shoe cycling shoe company was listed, though I had thought of others that should have been added after you deleted the list, it was a resource to a reader rather than spam. Is it against the WP rules to have such a list?

Can you tell me how to fix the references area so that they show up correctly?

Thanks again, Bill QBill (talk) 22:33, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Still cycling shoes

Hi yet again,

Thanks for the explanation. I totally agree about Crank Brothers. They should certainly be a big part of MTB clipless pedals.

Did not know about a manufacturers listing. Can we put the link in here to the list of manufacturers or is it too generic?

I have no connection to D2 (the custom cycling shoe maker) but hardly anyone knows about custom shoes. What about a link to them?

I think you must have done something to tune up the references on the page. They look a lot cleaner.
