The discography of Lady Gaga, an American pop singer, consists of two studio albums, one compilation album, two extended plays, ten singles, six promotional singles and eleven music videos. At the age of seventeen, she studied music at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts,[1] before dropping out at nineteen.[2] She began her career performing in burlesque clubs and writing songs for artists such as Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block prior to releasing her debut album The Fame on August 19, 2008.[3]

The album topped many charts worldwide and peaked at number two in the United States. Its first singles, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", were international number one hits. They were followed by the successful singles "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" (released only in Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe), "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi". As of August 2010, The Fame has sold more than twelve million copies worldwide. Its success led to plans of a deluxe edition, The Fame Monster, which was ultimately released as her second album on November 18, 2009.[1]

The Fame Monster peaked at number one in Australia and reached number five in the US, where it has sold over one million copies. Its lead single "Bad Romance" was another international number one, and the succeeding singles, "Telephone" and "Alejandro", were top ten hits in several countries. "Dance in the Dark" has been released as the album's fourth single in Australia—where it has reached number 24 on the charts—and France. Gaga's first compilation, The Remix, was released on March 3, 2010. It peaked at number six in the US and reached the top five in Canada and the United Kingdom. The remix album has sold 500,000 copies worldwide. The singer's third studio album Born This Way is scheduled for release in 2011.[4] As of August 2010, Gaga has sold more than 51 million singles and 15 million albums worldwide.[5][6]
