Narcissism
I'm a history, geography, current events, and political news junkie. I need rehab for this addiction. (I won't go, go, go .) I spend way too much time photographing and researching the history of random buildings in Washington, D.C. , aka Porkville .
Random fact #1 : I've discovered my home is a former embassy and that two people died on the second floor over 100 years ago. ("Carol Anne !")
I'm the son of a fundamentalist , Baptist preacher. I attended private, Christian schools my entire life and somehow survived four years at one of the most fundamental, conservative , Christian colleges in the nation. During my junior year, I began questioning many areas of my life: religion, sexuality, politics, etc. Fast forward a few years and you have an agnostic theist who is openly gay, pro-life , non-interventionist , and libertarian . In case you're wondering, no, I don't hate evangelicals or Republicans . (even though most of them think I'm a liberal , godless sodomite )
Random fact #2 : I love creative YouTube videos .
I spent most of my life in North Carolina , but have also lived in Tennessee , South Carolina , and Florida . I currently reside in the Dupont Circle gayborhood of Washington, D.C. (you know, "The Real World ") I wish he lived here as well. [smiles ] Apparently, my friends and neighbors think I'm a conservative. Definition of a Dupont Circle conservative: One who opposes government-funded abortions , pathetic attempts at redistribution of income via alarmist rhetoric, illegal restrictions on a constitutional right , and the National Education Association . (not all teachers shit gold and diamonds; on a related note, shit = United Federation of Teachers )
Random fact #3 : Five things I miss about living in North Cackalacky: Banker horses , spending weekends in Asheville and the surrounding area , hiking up to one of the state's waterfalls , driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway , and visiting every lighthouse on the Outer Banks .
I love free speech (something the far left and religious right hate ). I detest most political correctness . It's just a way to control the words and thoughts of people. (or as Orwell would say, thoughtcrime ) Big Brother just wants what is best for you. Obey, goddammit!
Random fact #4 : I eat croutons for brain food while editing this site. Oh yes, and I eat lots of Ben & Jerry's . (Suck it, Slim Fast . I'm still skinny.)
I leave you with the following quote:
"Republicans want the government to be your daddy.
Democrats want the government to be your mommy.
Libertarians want the government to treat you like an adult."
