== Who are you ==

why do you wanna delete my page

Revision as of 03:41, 9 October 2010

Not clear how to go about editing the post to improve its documentation and delete stuff that isn't documented. I guess the article will disappear and I can start over? K Weaver Kathleenweaver (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:09, 30 September 2010 (UTC).[reply]

The issue stems from the lack of unsupported statements and lack of notability. See reliable sources for what constitutes a valid reference and notability for what is needed for an article. ttonyb (talk) 00:12, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Shotokan Karate Coalition

Hi there. I note you have included a request to speedy delete this article. Can you please see DMacks rquest also together with my explanation. I am trying to update this now but I have the note you have placed on there and cannot remove it. Can you please confirm? Thanks Kiwi Karateka (talk) 01:17, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I saw DMacks' statement and I waited 2 days before placing a CSD tag on it. BTW - you should not have removed the tag. ttonyb (talk) 04:12, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tonyb1. Please accept my apologies. This is/was my first article and I was trying to put the hang on tag as I wanted clarification but clearly I must have removed the tag. Please be assured that this was wholly unintentional. If this has caused inconvenience or otherwise then I apologise. I had exchanged correspondence with DMacks and believed that whilst this was work in progress, the further details I had added would be sufficient as I was aware of the time pressures I was under from DMacks. I now note that the page has been deleted again. I am at a loss now and am looking for guidance as I believed in my earlier exchange that the information was of a sufficient standard to warrant inclusion. I have also seen other similar karate organisations pages and see little difference in them. Any pointers or help would be really appreciated as I am not sure what to do now. Sorry. Kind regards Kiwi Karateka (talk) 07:41, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References got deleted of worry of copyright infringement however "Administrators should take care not to speedy delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. If a page has survived a prior deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations. Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:CSD#A7 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wexgal (talkcontribs) 11:49, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ttonyb, I declined the speedy on this article in reaction to Opposes 12, 20, and 22 at my failed AfD. I'd like to get your reaction. (There's also a discussion going on about this at User_talk:SoWhy#Query, but I don't want to be accused of canvassing, and I've already probably invited too many people to that party, so I'd appreciate it if you'd answer here, not there. You're a very active non-sysop CSD'er and I'd like to get your view. I'm watching this page. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 15:30, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
TransporterMan, I need to logout for a while, but I'll review when I return. Thanks... ttonyb (talk) 15:47, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Myself, I think a statement that a press has published multiple famous authors is very unmistakably a statement at least asserting importance , and your speedy was therefore not really correct. But I do know if the press is actually notable , and I advised the author to show that more clearly before trying to restore an article. DGG ( talk )

Thanks for the heads-up; however, I don't think I marked it. I now see it as of September 5th. ttonyb (talk) 16:53, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You suggested that Natasha Bedingfield was a copyright violation of [1]. But isn't it more likely that it's the other way around? See Talk:Natasha Bedingfield#Copyright claim for details. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:23, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and sorry for the trouble. ttonyb (talk) 14:15, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Crowd size controversies

Could you hold off for a day or two? There is a huge edit war going on at the Restoring Honor Rally crowd size section resulting in it's second block. nd if sensible heads prevail, the crowd size section at the Restoring Honor Rally will be much more brief, stating the range of estimates, the methods of arrriving at them and a little about the controversy, which one source noted ended up in gaining as much notoriety as the event itself. I currently has a kitchen sink approach, with too much given to the CBS scientific numbers, and too much weight given to dubious misreported estimate. This article is intended to be much different. Speedy deletion of K.L. Misra

(munnanmisra (talk) 07:25, 7 October 2010 (UTC))I had started writing this page which has been removed as it has been assumed that it was a case of copyright violation from http://klmisra.blogspot.com/. Since that article has been written by me about Pt. K.L. Misra and I operate that blog (http://klmisra.blogspot.com/), I fail to understand how can it be a possible case of copyright violation. Further Pt. K.L. Misra has expired in 1975. If it is acceptable I would appreciate if the speedy deletion could be undone. Thanks.[reply]

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Until such time, the article is considered a copyright violation. As for the fact the individual has died, that has no bearing on the validity of the article and does not absolve the copyright issue. ttonyb (talk) 15:10, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
