Bart K. Palaszewski (born May 30, 1983) is a Polish-American professional mixed martial artist. He fought for the Quad City Silverbacks of the now defunct International Fight League. Following the UFC/WEC merger, Palaszewski is now under contract with the UFC.

Mixed martial arts career

After immigrating to the United States from Poland with his family, Palaszewski was unsure about what he wanted to do in life. He trained whilst working as a photographer and graphic designer and holding other computer-related jobs. Then, after seeing his first MMA event at a show in McHenry, Illinois, Palaszewski was hooked.[1] He lost his first four professional fights.

World Extreme Cagefighting

Bart Palaszewski defeated Anthony Pettis on December 19, 2009 at WEC 45.[2]

Palaszewski defeated Karen Darabedyan via first round submission at WEC 47[3]

Palaszewski defeated Zach Micklewright via second round TKO at WEC 50.[4]

Bart Palaszewski was expected to face Kamal Shalorus on November 11, 2010 at WEC 52.,[5] but the bout was moved to WEC 53 after Shalorus suffered a hand injury.[6] Palaszewski lost to Shalorus via a split decision.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

In October 2010, World Extreme Cagefighting merged with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As part of the merger, most WEC fighters were transferred to the UFC.[7]

Personal life

Bart and his girlfriend Jen were married on November 15, 2008.[8] The couple have a daughter named Natalia who was born in August 2007.[9]
