Qingyuan, Guangdong → Qingyuan – relisting to generate more discussion ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 04:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
1) A prefecture-level city, which is 2nd order, should be the primary topic over any county-level division, be it a county or district, which are 3rd order. See Administrative divisions of China for an overview.
2) Article traffic as of this post
- Qingyuan, Guangdong: 324
- Mount Qingyuan: 109
- Qingyuan County, Hebei: 78
- Qingyuan County, Zhejiang: 49
- Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County: 60
- Qingyuan District: 35
- Qingyuan, Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County: 23
- Qingyuan, Yizhou: 29
3) Searches on Google Books (quotation marks or no) for this Qingyuan under "Qingyuan City" and "Qingyuan Guangdong" yield a combined 5540 results. A search for "Qingyuan County", which gives results for all three counties named Qingyuan gives 2120 results. Split that number for each of the different counties, and that number declines. "Qingyuan District Ji'an" gives 199 results. For the mountain: "Mount Qingyuan", "Qingyuanshan", "Qingyuan Mountain" yield a combined 1374 results. I don't even have to mention the towns.
Clearly, nothing comes even close to Qingyuan City. Adding DAB-bing qualifiers to the titles of Jining (Shandong) and Ji'an (Jiangxi), and perhaps more cases, should never have happened for the same reasons listed as above. –HXL's Roundtable and Record 15:33, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
- Support. The logic here seeems sound. The disambiguation page that is currently at Qingyuan should be moved to Qingyuan (disambiguation) or something similar, and a hatnote placed at the top of this article after moving to direct readers to that disambiguation page.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Danaman5 (talk • contribs) 05:59, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Both sources and traffic indicate, and policy supports, that this prefecture-level city is the primary topic for Qingyuan. Quigley (talk) 20:15, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Support. All evidence above proves that this city is the primary topic. Jenks24 (talk) 12:09, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
