# Caique is already listed as a notable practitioner on the following Wikipedia pages: [[Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ranking system]], [[Kevin Burns (fighter)]], [[Hélio Gracie]], and [[Gracie Humaitá]]. In particular, on the [[Gracie Humaitá]] page, please pay attention to how many of the other notable students of this academy have their own Wikipedia pages (and many of these subjects have lower rank than Caique). |

Contested deletion
This page should not be speedily deleted because it accurately describes Carlos "Caique" Elias, who is one of very few red and black belts in the world in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It follows the same format as similar pages like Rickson Gracie.
Clarification on nomination
I nominated the article for CSD as the now-blocked creator had the same username as Carlos "Caique" Elias' commercial website and I had the concern that the article was mainly to promote Elias' school and training programs. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 01:56, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
This article should be moved back to main space
The reasons I believe the page should be reinstated are:
- The subject of the article, Carlos "Caique" Elias, clearly meets the WP:IMPORTANCE guidelines. Caique is a notable "elder" in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, being one of only about 20 people in the world to achieve a rank of black and red belt. He is one of only 4 black and red belts in the entire United States. He trained directly under Helio Gracie, one of the founding fathers of BJJ.
- Caique is already listed as a notable practitioner on the following Wikipedia pages: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ranking system, Kevin Burns (fighter), Hélio Gracie, and Gracie Humaitá. In particular, on the Gracie Humaitá page, please pay attention to how many of the other notable students of this academy have their own Wikipedia pages (and many of these subjects have lower rank than Caique).
- The article is written in what I believe to be a NPOV manner. It is not promotional nor does it make any unsubstantiated claims. In fact, it is arguably more NPOV than articles about other BJJ practitioners.
