Military History Project?

Just wondering how the EC145 figures into Military History? (Born2flie 13:55, 1 October 2006 (UTC))[reply]

See below: The EC-145 is the basis for the US Army UH-72A Lakota, which was a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) acquisition program. Jjvcfi 22:09, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, built solely for missions which any other commercial aircraft can be used for. I don't recall the Bell 206 being tagged by WP:MILHIST. Perhaps it is because the military variant of the Bell 206, the OH-58 has its own article, much like the UH-72 has. --Born2flie 02:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was there was no consensus. --Born2flie 03:25, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Recommendation

  • Oppose - There is enough info in the other article to keep on its own. And why should the non-continuation of a product have anything to do with whether an article will be extended? MadMaxDog 08:03, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Cruise/ Maximum Speed

This doesn't make sense

Never exceed speed: 278 km/h (150 kts) Maximum speed: 278 km/h (150 kts) Cruise speed: 280 km/h (151 kts)

How can the cruise speed exceed the maximum speed? Doyley 22:24, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps because VNE is specified as IAS in the manual, while cruise speeds are specified as TAS? Ojw (talk) 18:29, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A rate of climb of more tahn 10 m/s seems pretty unrealistic - someone pls check the value of 14... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.156.47.238 (talk) 12:55, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

unit descrepancy

is there a particular reason why cubic meters are equated to square feet?

Operators

The presence of EC145 like air ambulance in Tuscany is a fact, and the photo is a primary source because it is not a manipulated image. Add "citation needed" is better than revert a fact if not enought referenced. When information is unsourced, and it is doubtful any sources are available for the information, it can be boldly removed. If you think a source can be found, but you do not wish to supply one yourself, you can add the template [citation needed] ([citation needed] will also work) after the statement, which will add [citation needed]. This will encourage someone, often the editor who initially added the statement, to add a citation for the information. Assianir (talk) 18:03, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We can not use Wikipedia as a source, as per WP:CIRCULAR - FOX 52 (talk) 19:18, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In this case wikipedia it isn't used like a source. The source is a photograph and it is a primary source. I found this links too http://www.sicurezzaesoccorso.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=11607&fullsize=1 http://www.sicurezzaesoccorso.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=17331&fullsize=1 but for copyright reasons we cannot use them. Not always revert is the best option sometime think to use [citation needed]. Assianir (talk) 22:53, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with an image by itself is that it leaves open to a whole lot of interpretations. Who operates the aircraft? You have Navy on the stabilizer fin, Pegaso 1 on the engine cowling, and Regione Toscana on the door. You have no way to verify the information. Metadata must at the very least accompany the picture.FOX 52 (talk) 23:25, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries define primary sources as providing "an inside view of a particular event". They offer as examples: original documents, such as autobiographies, diaries, e-mail, interviews, letters, minutes, news film footage, official records, photographs, raw research data, and speeches; creative works, such as art, drama, films, music, novels, poetry; and relics or artifacts, such as buildings, clothing, DNA, furniture, jewelry, pottery. Assianir (talk) 00:07, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Regione (Regions are autonomous entities or Administrative districts with powers - region-based healthcare system) Toscana means Tuscany. The emergency medical service in Italy are free of charge for everybody. The service is paid by regions with taxes. The air ambulance is a service performed by a international company - contractor: www.inaer.com; I-NAVY is just a code. In Tuscany are operating 3 AA EMS: Pegaso 1, Pegaso 2 and Pegaso 3 (AgustaWestland AW139 id code I-EITD) http://www.sicurezzaesoccorso.com/gallery/index.php?cat=291Assianir (talk) 23:48, 29 March 2013 (UTC).[reply]
No matter what the University of Nevada says, here on Wikipedia we have a list of reliable sources, that should be closely followed. Unfortunately this is not a reliable source as it is a self-published page WP:SPS - FOX 52 (talk) 01:47, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Have to agree with FOX 52 an image is not a reliable source particularly in this case as we still do not know who owns or operates I-NAVY (which is not a code but its aircraft registration. Google search doesnt come up with anything other than more images of I-NAVY and I-JUNO. Not sure with an aircraft like the EC145 that individual EMS type operators are actually that notable to the type, perhaps the government operators sections should be just those operated by the state. MilborneOne (talk) 15:36, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also not sure that the related image File:Elisoccorso Toscana pegaso.jpeg is actually good enough for the article, it appears out of focus and cluttered and doesnt really show us anything about the helicopter that is not in the other images. MilborneOne (talk) 15:38, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I do not agree with your way of doing things (remove any line without source) and to argue but at this point I think it is useless to continue. Remove quietly what suits you, and I will avoid re-enter itAssianir (talk) 21:05, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:V, unsourced text can be removed at anytime, including right away. If you want the text to be retained then please cite a reliable source. - Ahunt (talk) 21:37, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
