Shinji Hosoe (細江慎治, Hosoe Shinji, born February 28, 1967), also known as MEGATEN and SamplingMasters MEGA,[1] is a Japanese video game composer and musician most famous for scoring Ridge Racer, Keyboardmania 3rd mix and many early 1990s Namco arcade games.[2] He also created the in-game music for Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse. He was assisted by Yuki Kajiura on the project, though he did not return as a composer for Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra. He also runs the VGM company Super Sweep Records, along with long-time collaborator Ayako Saso. He was also a member of "Oriental Magnetic Yellow" (OMY), a music band parodying electronic music group Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), producing parody cover versions of their music.[3]
