Brigadier General (Retd.) Abu Sultan Muhammad Hannan Shah is a Bangladeshi politician. A senior member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and former Minister of Bangladesh, he is a former Advisor to former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia (Former First Lady). He was arrested along with his son in 2007.[1]

Biography

After the assassination of Ziaur Rahman in 1981, he was removed from the Bangladesh Army by General Hussain Muhammad Ershad.

In 2012, his residence was searched by the Bangladesh Police but nothing suspicious was found.[2]

Family

He has two sons and a daughter with wife Nahid Hannan. Shah Rezaul Hannan is the firs born, a graduate of Dhaka University followed by Riadul Hannan who earned his Bachelors degree from Turkey. Hannan Shah’s daughter Sharmeen Hannan earned her BBA degree from Dhaka University and taught college courses in Canada. She is married to Imtiaz Ibne Sattar.[3]
