Thanks Jim,

I was indeed working offline and I've now uploaded the content again. I've tried to keep it simple and straight to the facts, and also cited plenty of references to establish his notability (you can actually find him mentioned in a few pages already).

If you could cast your eye over it and let me know where improvements could be made I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again,
Dave

Hi Jim, I do not see anything on the page that you said you put my article on. Could you try putting it there again so I can get my code to re-write?

Hi Jim,

It seems that you deleted the draft page "Provoke Solutions" that was created because of unambiguous copyright infringement. Can you please reinstate the latest version of this in our draft page, in order for us to review, rewrite and submit based on the Wikipedia guidelines? Hi Jim,

It seems you have deleted the page "Art Everywhere US" due to copyrighting this document: http://www.lamar.com/GetInspired/CaseStudies/Art-Everywhere. I understand the links are very similar, but this case study was written by our organization, the Outdoor Advertising Association of America. Lamar Advertising is one of our members and re-posted our case study on their website. This material is original and was slightly altered to quote and link to direct news articles regarding our campaign on the Wikipedia page. Can you please provide me access to the latest draft for me to update and review with our staff to get this page posted? Thanks! YourOAAA (talk) 16:13, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim,

I see that you have deleted the page of Indian Painters citing no references. Please let me know what's required to create the page again. Here is the link to that page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_painters Shwela (talk) 08:03, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim,

I see that you have deleted the page of Research Institute for Geo-Hydrological Protection for Unambiguous advertising or promotion. This is strange in my opinion since the institute is not a company or a business agency but a research public institute so we really do not need to advertise anyone or to promote something. Our institute is like this: Istituto di scienza e tecnologie dell'informazione or like this: Institut de l'information scientifique et technique Our page is only more detailed. May I ask you to explain me why the page has to be deleted and and also how we can improve it in order to be more compliant with wikipedia? Moreover I do not have a local copy of the page and I would like to have back the text since it took me a lot of effort to prepare it and I would re-use part of the text. Can you kindly explain me how to retrieve the page content? Many Thanks --Marchesinivan (talk) 09:10, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Parish churches

Jim, I've had another look at St Helen's. I've struggled to find sources for parish churches - but only as part of village articles. The church which is 30 yards from where I'm sitting is here, the church in the next village is here, and the pair of churches in a Corsican village are here. I've just bought a second hand book online about another local village for which the Wiki article is at present just one line. I'm still working on the 5 species of frigatebirds. The species are so similar that most of the content could be identical for the five articles. Aa77zz (talk) 11:41, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jim, I've uploaded a new version with the shadows lightened. Do you think this is an improvement? This is a one click change in photoshop. When I have time I'll see whether I can darken some of the light areas in the bottom half of the picture. I have photoshop on my laptop but my editing skills are very limited. Aa77zz (talk)

Not suitable for rapid deletion.

  • A7 The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance
  • G11 An article about a company or a product which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion.

The article may be poor but the subject is important. Can we please reinstate it and improve it. EMIS carries the medical records of about 25 million people. They are all about to be given the right to access those records using EMIS software. There are four suppliers of Electronic health records for primary care in the UK. Emis is much the biggest. The picture I have been trying to build up of how the NHS works will be damaged without an article about this.Rathfelder (talk) 17:11, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I have had difficulty finding objective material but I'll have another look. The profile of this area will rise because there is a political imperative to make these records accessible to the patients in 2015.Rathfelder (talk) 09:40, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please make me understand why you deleted this page. Hi Jim, what gives? Did you delete that after I edited it (adding a source and cleaning it up) or did I "edit conflict" with your deletion? The company was founded in 1931 and there are more than a few books and articles with historical information. I've just left a message with the speedy deletion tagger about bitey speedy deletion tagging. Can you revert this one? Cheers, Stlwart111 07:37, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

yea it seems that the guy i met has had a series of trials and errors an I'm attempting to fix this so he can be properly credited for all he has done, he's an amazing teacher and grandfather so i would appreciate any help you may provide :) and thank you.

Deletion of page "Ronni Sanlo"

The original copyright concerns were addressed by myself and my Wiki students. Please let me know how to get this page back up. Many thanks. --Dalton D. Hird 10:48, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This page is being worked on by students in a university class as part of the Wiki Education Program. See the class Wiki page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_Program:California_State_University,_Fullerton/Gender_and_Technoculture_%28Fall_2014%29 My students were required to go through Wikipedia's training for students here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Training/For_students This training encourages students to "be bold," when editing and to start a page when they recognize a need for it. As part of Wiki project countering systemic bias, I feel this is particularly important when the page also contributes to correcting Wikipedia's well-documented bias in favor of white, Western, heterosexual, male points of view and experiences. When you take the page down without communicating directly with the students, you discourage them as editors and miss out on an important opportunity to help them learn. That is what has happened to my students; they are now uncomfortable working on the page and confused by its location (on my Talk page). As an alternative, I suggest that I put the "Ronni Sanlo" page back up as a stub (which is customary), and I and my students will continue developing it as part of our Wiki learning community project. I would like to do this in the next 48 hours so am hoping we can agree on this by then. Kind regards. --Dalton D. Hird 22:17, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the message. Please go through the links above so you will understand how the Wiki Education Program works. The Ronni Sanlo page is being developed by a group of students as part of this project. --Dalton D. Hird 19:03, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chakloo

Hi Jimfbleak. I have had a go at cleaning up Chakloo and I think I removed all of the promotional content, so I also removed the speedy tag. I'm going to see if I can find some references for it now. Feel free to tag it again if you still think it should be deleted. Sarahj2107 (talk) 11:25, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello my page was deleted stating that it was for advertisement. The article was for an class assignment from my University of North Dakota professor. She proof the article and deemed it appropriate for my assignment. I am unsure on your action and seek clarity. I am unsure of your comment "14:55, 11 December 2014 Jimfbleak (talk | contribs) deleted page User:Kea.arthur (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: misuse of user page for promotion of an organisation)." So how did you arrive at this conclusion? What organization am I promoting? What steps did you take to make this suggestion? Why was it not a chance to improve the article by a new user instead the assumption of what you provided? Peafowl articlenotice request

Ah, Jim! We meet again (though it has been some time, has it not?). I was recently doing some editing of the article on peafowl and noticed that there was some business going on with regard to variations in the spelling of the word "color/ colour". I did some reviewing of the MOS policy of such things, and it looks like the first non-stub version of any given article gets deemed the official one for deciding which national/ regional variant of English should be used throughout that article (per MOS:RETAIN. It seems that you yourself were involved early on in the editing of this very article (ring any bells) when the spelling of "colour" was in British style. I looked at your userpage and could not assess your own nationality, but am going to take a shot and guess you are British (?). In any case, I went ahead and made all instances of the word "color" in the article appear as "colour" for consistency, and placed a request for admin help on the talk page to put an edit notice on the article informing future editors that the article uses the British English variant. No admin has yet stepped in to formally place the notice, though I admit that I only placed it yesterday. Which brings me to my point: you are an admin, and you also are one of the earliest editors of the article in its British form: do you think that such an editnotice would be appropriate, and if so, would you mind placing it? Please consider the request. Thanks! KDS4444Talk 16:28, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

IDR Solutions restore request

Hi Jim, I authored in good faith the beginnings of an article about a UK software company that was deleted before it could be expanded upon. I dug up some references to support importance and notability, and User talk:Bazj suggested on my talk page that I ask you for a restore to my user area so it can be improved and submitted again. If this is possible that would great. Moggie2002 (talk) 22:06, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ewan McLennan

Hi Jim,

My original article on Ewan McLennan was deleted as I, perhaps too liberally, quoted text from his own 'About' page. I've revised my local copy of the page so as not to do this, and would like to resubmit it using my own words and phrasing. As I was about to do this, the message said that I should bounce it off you first as you had deleted the original version. Are you OK with me starting the cycle again?

Thanks, Dave (aka Naganata)

Disambiguation link notification for December 17

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited St Helen's Church, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Portrait Gallery. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Article "Doye Agama" (Deleted 15 Dec 2014)

Hello Jim. I'd like the opportunity to thoroughly re-write the article about Archbishop Agama, as a VERY MUCH briefer and simpler article, and more neutral point of view. Can the old article be reinstated for a week or two, to give me opportunity to work on it ? When I have done it, what's the best way of getting an independent view on whether it then meets the criteria or not ? -- Diakonias 10.50 am 17 Dec 2014 Diakonias (talk) 10:49, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jim for your help/advice (posted on my userpage talkpage). I have now very substantially re-written the article about Doye Agama. I have cut out a huge amount of material. I have tried to be purely factual/neutral. I'll be very interested to hear whether you think I have succeeded. I can cut out more material if you think I should. As you can see, I have also added some new material, which has been reported in the Press or (in one case) in a magazine that is wholly independent of Doye Agama and any organization he is part of. I do want to mould this wikipage into a format that is acceptable and unlikely to be successfully challenged. The revised article can be found in my sandbox. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks. Seasonal greetings. From Diakonias 9.25pm 17th Dec 2014 Diakonias (talk) 21:13, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arc Light Controversy

If someone would have read what they were deleting, they would have seen that that picture and text are from a newspaper in a public domain. I own the blog BTW. You guys should be more careful before deleting something that can't be restored.Keizers (talk) 14:24, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
