Redirect request: Juan Doe , Juanita Doe , Tyrone Doe , Oprah Doe

This request has been accepted. Please do not modify it.
  • Target of redirect: John Doe
  • Reason: alternate versions of John Doe placeholder name for unknown/anonymous people
  • Source (if applicable): [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

65.94.40.137 (talk) 16:35, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Declined. Juan Doe → John Doe: neologisms attributed to largely unreliable sources. Juanita Doe → John Doe: neologisms attributed to largely unreliable sources. Tyrone Doe → John Doe: neologisms attributed to largely unreliable sources. Oprah Doe → John Doe: neologisms attributed to largely unreliable sources. Bellerophon talk to me 00:10, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: you are mistaken what the sourcing requirements are for redirects. "Juan Doe" and "Juanita Doe" are viable search terms BECAUSE they are used in Fiction to represent "John Doe" in different unrelated works by multiple authors. Therefore it is a good search term, and thus a redirect should exist. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 08:59, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I've already addressed the mistakes in the rejection. It is clearly not a neologism, and is clearly used in scholarly sources and even in court cases. Why is this not getting a new reply, and instead is just being enclosed without further comments? -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 08:31, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why whoever requested this requested it. Sorry for enclosing it. Do you have a problem with me doing that? You know, why should these redirects be created? Are they really neologisms? 174.29.75.144 (talk) 22:48, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Stop enclosing the replies. IF you can't read the replies and process the information, then you're not processing the request. Ofcourse there's a problem. The replies address the concerns presented in the original rejection. If you can't even read the replies then don't touch them. Your deletion of the additional information [18] is highly inappropriate, instead of actually conversing. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 06:56, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry. I promise I will stop enclosing the replies. Can you please stop this from being an edit war? If you stop doing that edit war thing, I'll stop enclosing the replies, OK? 174.29.75.144 (talk) 22:48, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What edit war are you referring to? I did not delete the replies, nor was I the one to restore the deleted material. Replying to people isn't an edit war. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 07:37, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@65.94.40.137: Your replies were not ignored, they simply weren't seen because they had been enclosed in the collapsed template by another editor. In light of the additional sources you have provided, I have created the first two of your requests. Please clam down. Bellerophon talk to me 17:55, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I do know they weren't ignored, because otherwise they would not have been enclosed. I am upset with the behaviour of 174.29.75.144 who enclosed the replies without doing anything except to enclose the replies for seemingly no proper reason, especially with the deletion of the material. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 07:37, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Bellerophon. I'm sorry for enclosing the requests (I was doing that to get the request ready for manual archiving), and I'll stop enclosing the comments. Thank you for providing the additional sources. 174.29.75.144 (talk) 22:48, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In future, you should perhaps read the replies and process them, instead of ignoring the content and enclosing replies without further consideration. If you're not going to process a request, enclosing replies that address the concerns outlined in a rejection seems highly inappropriate. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 07:39, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Userwriters (talk) 14:47, 24 January 2015 (UTC) WOLF OF WALL STREET REVIEW: COMMENTARY In fact, there is a certain case that I would persuade the audience to go and have a look at. However, this case is not a representation of my views regarding this particular movie. The analysis I chose was the one for the Telegraph’s Review on the film ‘American Hustle’ as it was similar to my formulation of writing this review. I used many language features in this text, which I will now explain.[reply]

I was able to utilize idiomatic expressions in my review such as ‘strattonites’, which only the people who have watched the movies would only understand. My purpose for the use was to ensure that every time people watch this film are eager to know the meaning of the word. I made the introduction to this review quite humorous as I wanted people to be drawn in straight away before I throw facts on them so that they have read too far to stop. I referred to the reader directly in the hope that there would be an attachment to the article itself. ‘You…. The average middle-aged man tied down to three kids still paying off your mortgage and paying back your university even though you graduated 15 years ago.’ This is a perfect example of my utilization of the language style. This allows the reader to wonder what the article has to offer him. Later on in the same paragraph, I used a triadic structure to emphasize the role the main character in the show, Jordan Belfort, by referring to him as ‘the materialistic Messiah, the cock of the walk, the wolf of wall street.’ By doing this, it showed the readers the importance and dominance that the character possesses in the movie. In addition, is to highlight to the reader the use of a triadic structure.

The natural theme of a review Just as the one I used as my style model is pinpointing both good and bad points then highlighting them for the reader to depict them. For example, I told the readers how exhilarating this film is and emphasized this point by saying the film had some exaggerated instances that were at a very high point’. By using alliteration, it shows the reader really how exciting this movie is. When I weighed out the bad points, I compared the movie to other works from Martin Scorsese such as ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘Goodfellas’. I undertook comparisons with the film, Wolf of Wall Street, which was very different from other movies especially where Scorsese a risk in having a completely different approach to this movie.

THE RECKONING: THRILLER SHORT STORY COMMENTARY I have written a Thriller short story about a young boy and his brother running away from a terrorist army camp that has taken over their territory. After reading the Stone Cold novel by Robert Swindell, I decided to write a Thriller short story, whilst also utilizing this particular model as the main style model for my short story. The main purpose, of using this style model, is to entertain readers and draw them into the context of my story. I used many language features in this text, which I will now explain.

There is utilization of the advanced lexis terms in my story such as ‘exasperating’, ‘bewilderment’, and ‘notorious’ as this is a typical feature of any short story, not just a thriller story. This adds great interest to the story since it not only advances the reader's vocabulary but also gives the story a more exciting twist to it. Through a confusing twist, I shifted the introduction into the middle of the story and the middle context at the inception of the narration since through build up suspense and allowing the reader to anticipate anxiously what is going to take place next. Immediately, the advent of activities in the story draws the reader deeply into the context thus creating an exciting feel other than reading continuously and nothing of relevance happening. A recurring theme in this story, like many thrillers, is the utilization of short sentences. For example, ‘Still nothing’, ‘truly amazing’, and ‘Poor Danny’ are part of the examples utilizing short sentences context. My objective, of having short sentences in the story, is to create tension, suspense, and leaving the reader with questions, which will only receive answers by advancing towards the end of the narrative. Moreover, is creating a fast pace in the story thus making it as much of a thriller as possible.

Secondly, is the use of simile in my story in order to create an image in the readers head making him, or her imagine that instance is taking place in real life and being descriptive? For example, “My voice traveled through the forest like a cheetah hunting its prey”. This clearly depicts how quiet and spooky the forest was, and it says a lot about the character. He is so worried about the loss of his little brother such that he pays attention to detail and how his voice sounds in general where he starts to lose faith and is also a feature showing the recurring faith in the story. Through the story, the main character goes from the state of hope to panic, to despair, and to finding the slightest bit of hope possible. Specifically at the end of the film, there is no hope of surviving at the sight of his dead brother. The story comes to a sudden halt after finding his dead brother tore to pieces on the floor and utilizes ellipses to create suspense in order to leave the reader on a cliffhanger. This is a recurring theme in Thriller short stories. I am pleased with how I wrote this story, but wish I wrote more and tried to create more tension and suspense that a typical thriller story has, with more scenes that will shock the reader. I believe that I spent too much time talking about the main character himself rather than writing about more exhilarating scenes.

Comparison between the Reckoning and Wolf of Wall Street Both stories have an exciting feel twist into it. They both represent the realities of life of, not knowing what the next minute holds for you. Leonardo as the lead character in the Wolf of Wall Street is at a point in his life he is just an average earning individual then these changes at some point where he is a millionaire. Another shift occurs again when federal agents start to investigate him and almost loses most his property. This is the same with the thriller story, The Reckoning, concerning a young boy and his brother. The two brothers are roaming around the forest having great hope when they successfully escaped a terrorist army camp. They reach at some point and make a few exchanges before resting to sleep in the hope of achieving their desires as days pass by, only that this hope is squashed when the older wakes up to find his younger brother missing. This turns out into a state of confusion as he tries to call on him, 'Danny! Danny!’ he is disappointed in himself and despairs. However, he still holds to the hope that he will find him but this takes place towards a tragic end since he finds his brother’s body mutilated. The story moves from a hopeful point to a hopeless point then to a point of no return as there is absolutely no hope at all. The language style in both stories has suspense as the audiences are always anticipating the next move. They both have a tragic end. Both stories have similes as they create a certain image into the mind of the reader. In The Reckoning, there is the instance of “My voice travelled…” and Wolf of Wall Street, “Di Caprio throwing dollar bills at a federal officer after trying to bribe him on his yacht.” Both stories convey a message that there is no constancy in the realities of life as events can either change to favor or make worse the way things are than the already are.
