Elimination Chamber (also known as No Escape (2015) in Germany) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view event exclusively on WWE Network produced by WWE. It will take place on May 31, 2015, at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.[1] It will be the sixth annual Elimination Chamber event, and the first to take place in May. This is the first Elimination Chamber event not to be broadcast on traditional pay-per-view outlets.[2]
Background
Elimination Chamber will feature professional wrestling matches that involve wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WWE's primary television programs, Raw and SmackDown. Wrestlers will portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.[3][4]
On May 17, it was announced that an Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship would be held at the event.[5]
At Payback, The New Day defeated Tyson Kidd and Cesaro to retain the Tag Team Championshipin a 2-out-of-3 falls Tag team match. Later in the event, it was announced that The New Day would defend the titles in the first-ever Tag team Elimination Chamber match at the event.[5]
