Stay in my heart Bapu. Rama's arrow - this Fire burns always 04:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is the goal of my life to discover God, but I'll be only too happy to have even half the unbelievable courage and wisdom of my forefathers, the Indian freedom fighters. I cannot ever fully express my gratitude for the sacrifices they made for my freedom and right to life. Rama's arrow - this Fire burns always 04:59, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Condensation

It seems that to-do for Ray has boiled down to condensation of the prose. I am a bit worried if too much compressing would make the prose a bit choppy. --ppm 02:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

College library

I will check out in my college library, but I am not sure if I will find much. Being a techie college, my library only keeps tech books. But still that is a good idea. I must check that out. Nirma is a good college for Gujarat standards, but I still feel that I should have tried to aim for some good IIT or NIT. But that does not matter. Placements are great in Nirma too. I was born on 15 February, 1987. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 11:46, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my RfA

Thanks for your support in my RfA! Unfortunately, the request did not pass, with a vote of (43/16/7). But your support was appreciated and I'll just keep right on doing what I do. Maybe I'll see ya around -- I'll be here!
Cheers! - CheNuevara 17:27, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

you cant have two mother tongues

hi. i read your reply to my talk page. it was a great one. i think you should stop saying that you dont have profound knowledge on the subject.

first of all, thanks for your I am a Hindu box.

neways on this page, you have listed you have two mother tongues, hindi and gujrati. you cannot have two mother tongues.

well since you are a member of counter vandalism unit, i thought i shall ask you that how do u revert a vandalistic change. i know one method where u go to the older version, and start to edit it and save as it is, but there must be a simpler way.

anyways thanks again for your POV and such a great reply. i really liked it and i m short of words.

Yo what's going on Nirav. I did briefly look at WP:POTUS — off the top, I think it looks really good, but I'll look into it in some more detail over the weekend. You wouldn't mind if I changed the color of the titlebars on the portal would you...I was thinking of a more "American" blue...lemme know what you think. I'll look into the Himalayan portal over the weekend too...Later! AreJay 01:38, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Savarkarphoto.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Savarkarphoto.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:07, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi and request

Hi! I have again become sort of busy and often cannot find time for WP. I have a request. Please ho through Darjeeling once. Almost ready. Just find out if something has to be wikilinked...just link it. If something turns out to be red, I shall make it blue later. Also, if possible, do a copyedit. Will find some good historical photo for the "History" section, add it, and go for FAC firast thing next week.

By the way,you are going in a tremendous pace, so far as PRs are concerned! Amyway. we should get the bounty for Azad soon. Thanks.--Dwaipayan (talk) 12:51, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yes I shall set up the FAC myself on Monday or Tuesday (when I get online). Only 2 red links are there now that I'll make blue soon. See if you think anything more needs to be wikilinked.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:15, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I shall try. Problem is I may not manage to get online tomorrie. In that vase, Sunday I'll.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my RfA

Thanks for your support opinion on my RfA. With a final vote of (62/0/1), my RfA passed, and I am now an Administrator. I will work hard to ensure that the tools entrusted to me will not be abused, and will wield my mop proudly.

Request for help

Hi Nirav, just wondering if you could help me out. Can you please look at [1] and tell me what you think of it? Specifically, I'm trying to find the quotes from the Rig Veda and I *cannot* at all find them. I'm a bit skeptical to say the least, but your insight would be useful. Thanks! Something just struck me

Something just struck me about this line:

ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਗਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਵੈ॥
In Kali Yuga, Gobind is in the form of Nanak and ‘G’ of Vahiguru gets Govind recited.

How can 'Gobind' here refer to Guru Gobind Singh, if Bhai Gurdas died before Guru Gobind Singh was even born!? Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 00:25, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA and your vote

Hello Nirav,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. By the way, I'm curious—why such strong support? I'd like to know, maybe I could focus on those aspects. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)

Thank you. I intend on making the oppose votes into goals somewhat, I won't try out again till I have much more article and AFD participation in order to satisfy everyone else :). The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me) 01:18, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thnaks from Yanksox

Hello, Rama, and thank you for supporting my RfA, which registered a tally of 104/4/7. Which means...

I am now an admin!!!

I was and still am very flattered by all the kind comments that I recieved, I will also take into account the comments about how I could improve. I guarantee I will try my best to further assist Wikipedia with the mop. Feel free to drop in and say hi or if you need anything. Again, thank you so much! Yanksox 04:07, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

State templates

Hi Nirav, your suggestion is good. My only problem is I am not good with templates. I had directly copied Arunachal and replaced town names etc. I find myself technologically challenged to add more lines. Will try but not very hopeful:) -- Lost 05:53, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The state templates are extremely complex, with a lot of optional fields. I translated them to Bangla wikipedia, and took me quite some time to cleanly translate it and not mess up something. :) --Ragib 06:02, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That brings my hopes even further down:( -- Lost 06:32, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Adminship
Thank you for contributing to my my request for adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a withdrawn vote count of 14/27/14, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was pleasantly suprised at the support, and was touched by it. I will also work harder on preventing disputes and keeping cool under stress. Hopefully I will re-apply soon and try again for the mop. Thanks again, Highway Return to Oz... 13:33, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

God spoke a Book

It was not the book of war, violence, greed, MASS Murder, discrimination, and oil.

to revere
1. to regard someone or something with great awe or devotion
2. to venerate someone or something as an idol

"(3) You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. (4) You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me" -- Ten Commandments

I would be very grateful if you do (if you know another language apart from English and the ones on my userpage please feel free to post it on) P.S. all th translations are in alpahbetical order so when you add one please put it in alpahbetical order according to the language. Hi Rama's Arrow! I was just wondering, I have expanded lots and lots of articles and made many artivles regarding Somali or Somalilandian culture, food, cuisine, landmarks and geography. But unforunately I feel that no-one is appreciating it. For example, you expanded articles and even made some based on India and Hindu culture e.t.c and people appreciated it and gave you many awards but I did the same but on a different country but no-one is appreciating it or giving a barnstar. what shall i do! DYK

Updated DYK query On 29 July, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Tape ball, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Why it's the way we play street cricket in Canada even! We even use tape balls occasionally for hockey (doesn't bounce but the tape comes off). Great article -- Samir धर्म 23:27, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahmedabad FAC

I was just thinking about that yesterday. I went through the entire peer review yesterday and found that almost all of the issues have been addressed since that and you have also turned around the article. Veer Savarkar

Nirav, I seem to have picked up from somewhere that you're planning to make a drive for the Savarkar article to attain featured status. Excellent plan, and I know you'll carry it out well.

Slight problem, though. I wanted to tell you upfront so that there's no trouble later - I have more than enough on my plate right now, and recent edits [2] from a certain editor indicate that I might have even more thankless, patient discussion in store in my future - that it would be great if, in this difficult subject, you could carefully avoid even the suggestion of POV. I am always unduly influenced by first paragraphs, and in the first para as it stand now, "he is widely regarded as the inspiring icon of modern Hindu nationalist political parties." is a little difficult for me to handle. While Hindutva continues to be central to the Sangh Parivar, and people -strangely, perhaps- remember Savarkar rather than Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, I would prefer if phrases like 'inspiring icon' were examined carefully. Also, a first paragraph that nowhere says 'controversial' is unacceptable.

Also, and I know I really dont need to tell you this, when the Gandhi story is told, we mustnt stop with "he was acquitted due to lack of evidence'. The subsequent information that emerged and was reported on in the 1960s should be included, though it tends not to be.

Thanks, and good luck. If you have time, keep on looking in on the Wikindians, Netajis - and now Bakasuprmans - of the world. My name is mud with them now, so I dont think that I can influence them much. Even this [3] made very little difference. Hornplease 06:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So it looks like User:Hornplease:Hornplease is spying on me. I never even made any major edits to Mr. Savarkar article. Infact, I don't think I made any edits to the article. Hornplease is a master of the game, he sneaks POV subtlely into the Brinda Karat and Arjun Singh article. Just like his name is mud with me and Netaji, their names are mud with Hindus. He seems to excite controversy in remote articles and remove it from controversial people. The word controversy is also in the beginning of the article Veer Savarkar, third paragraph. Now you have both POV's.Bakaman%% 03:05, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Ahmedabad is here. Ambuj reviewed the article and made some great comments. I have addressed all of them and he gave me the go ahead. I know that I don't need to say this but here goes - couldn't have done it without all the motivation that you gave me. There are no barnstars out there to express my gratitude. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 15:12, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I think I have fixed up the references. Thankfully Ambuj was there to guide me. I will ask him to look at them now. It seems that all 3 of us were working on the references at the same time. :) - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 17:20, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Please take a look at the FAC. Nichalp seems to be busy these days. Can you suggest someone who would thorughly copyedit the article. I went through the article and would be doing some minor copyediting. I have also added more references today, but don't understand the inline comments suggestion. Can you please explain to me what inline comments are and why they are required for this article. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 15:34, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have informed Tony. I had already contacted Sandy yesterday after his comment on FAC. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 15:57, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I am doing some last minute changes , wikifying and references. I do not need help mow. But will need once FAC is on ....Please take care of minor grammatical, minor copyediting problems then. I can solve major problems....like reference, disputes etc. Thanks a lot.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right now. In 1 hour, won't have time tomorrow -I am having busy rotations in hospital now :( .--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wish the busy-ness were for a number of nurses! (sigh) Anyway, the FAC may generate some requests for image realignment (to right side) or toggling. Please do so if needed. I fear I may not have a look in the FAC before Tuesday evening (IST), even maybe Wednesday! Hope there is no major issue. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my talk page and Sandy's comments there. I am off to work right now. can you try to make necessary changes (rather minor changes). The major one is history before British.--Dwaipayan (talk) 02:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Long overdue

My dear Nirav, I have been meaning to give you a star for a long time now, and to say without sounding cheesy just how much I admire your solid contributions to Wikipedia. I also feel privilaged to have entered, in some sense, into your life; to know from week to week what you have been up to and what you are reading! You give so very much to Wikipedia that it makes for a definite bond; the star is also for always being so wholesomely yourself. This has been a long time coming, and is the more heartfelt for it. Keep up the good work. Regards, ImpuMozhi 02:05, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
