Name of the airport

The airport's name seems to be Lydd Airport, whereas London Ashford Airport is the name of the operator:

On the official website, it is called Lydd Airport several times: [1] and [2] talk about "Expansion at Lydd Airport"; [3] says: "Lydd Airport today is operated by London Ashford Airport Ltd." Where London Ashford Airport is used, it is ambiguous whether that refers to the airport or the operator.
The licence says "Name of aerodrome: LYDD".
Google has 31,300 web pages for "Lydd Airport" and only 13,200 for "London Ashford Airport".

At some time in the 70s the term "Ashford Airport" was used to refer to Lympne Airport - since closed.
