Hi Jimfbleak
Many thanks for your understanding. The sandbox page info does not make it clear that anything written is not pre publication as I understood it to mean. I have not yet gotten to the stage of putting links and references etc as I was making changes to the already written piece and quite frankly at this stage I do not know how to do such. When the basic text was down I was going to address this. As you appreciate I have not been able to.
I can only work on the text when I have time to do so. Do you think it will be deleted again quickly? How can I mitigate against this? As a frequent user of Wikipedia i am glad that there are people such as yourself who police its content. That is why I trust using it. I am a first time contributor who has certainly gotten into a web of misunderstanding here I feel. I saw an article online which was basically about ..why not be a contributor to the Wkipaedia database. It sounded easy and so I thought I'd give it a go. This is a band that was prominent on the 80's funk/soul scene in London and the wider UK and I could not see them on Wikipedia. With my increased knowledge of how to contribute to Wikipedia maybe they will have. i have started and so i may as well finish. Whether it is accepted or not is for yourselves to quite rightly judge. Being a band from before the internet there is not as much as would be the case with a present day band but I feel there is sufficient to meet Wikipedias requirements. Thanks again.

Birol Güven

Hi Jimfbleak, You have deleted the page Birol Güven created by User:Ertanguvenn. (2 June ) In the deletion log it reads advertising. Well, this person happens to be a notable man. Howr can a new (and of course non advertising) page may be created ? Thanks. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 11:32, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Bhakti Gauravani Goswami

Hi, I am Bhakti Gauravani Goswami, member of the EuroRGB and sannyasi in ISKCON. I noticed that you deleted a page I created yesterday featuring my bio. I uploaded my bio of which I am the author. The same text has been given by me to the EuroRGB.com webpage for publication. You can contact the administrator of eurorgb.com for verification of my identity. My email contact with said administrator is: Bhakti.Gauravani.Goswami@pamho.net Regards, Bhakti Gauravani Goswami (Bgg108 (talk) 11:34, 17 December 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Please note that I am new to contributing on Wikipedia. I hope this message gets through and that I did the right things like using the tildes.

I'm not sure what's going on with this article; I believe I declined a speedy on it recently. According to the Italian wiki article,[1] she's the president of a notable university, which is more than enought to defeat A7, and there are other substantial claims of significance. Please revisit the deletion of Sublight Records. This article was tagged by a SPA with an apparent vendetta, and while I don't remember the article well it's hard for me to believe it was mere promotion after all of this time. The article does have a long history, including a merge back in 2011. Thanks. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 13:54, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see many other articles tagged by Truthbetold123222 (talk · contribs) have been deleted. Please revisit these also. Thanks. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 13:58, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, what's the deal with the deletion frenzy yesterday with all the established electronic artists? If you think all those articles were (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion), then by the same logic you may as well delete every other musician's article and discographies as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StuOnThis (talkcontribs) 14:04, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Uncle Milty, Torchiest, JohnBlackburne, I did read the articles, not just rely on the tagging (at least one criterion confused faulty infobox formatting with nonsense). As always, I'm happy to accept comments from GF editors that I may have got it wrong, both restored now Jimfbleak - talk to me? 17:25, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thirded. The deletion of a slew of electronic artist pages, labels, albums pages, etc is unwarranted.
Alainbryden (talk) 15:58, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I saw you deleted this article as G11. I believe that may have been a mistake, as the article had been around for more than a decade, and had perhaps half a dozen reliable sources, and there are dozens of releases by the band with articles. Looking at an archived copy of the article, I see how it has some peacock language, but it doesn't seem to be solely promotional in content. Could you restore the article, so that I can do some work on it and remove the hyped-up language? Thanks for your help. —Torchiest talkedits 14:16, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded as I’m here for the same reason. The topic is a real, notable artist with a significant body of work. As with many artist articles it might have attracted fans keen to lavish the subject with praise, but that is not a reason for deletion, but for cleanup. Given the interest here in the subject it should not take long for it to be cleaned up.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 16:20, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thirded. There was no valid reason to delete this article.
Alainbryden (talk) 15:58, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm here to contest a slew of deletions regarding Alphabasic_Records and surrounding albums. (many appearing under Benn_Jordan#Discography. This whole issue has arisen due to a handful of users (or one user under multiple aliases): Musicchief007, Truthbetold123222 and 88.194.149.117, with a personal vendetta against certain members of the electronica music scene.

After several failed attempt at vandalizing Benn_Jordan (seen in their contributions page), they began a campaign of spamming moderators of this community to delete articles surrounding them. While they succeeded in inciting a nomination to delete the article. There's been a tremendous backlash from the community and a ton of supporting evidence to demonstrate their notability which will likely result in the nomination being dropped and hopefully in the article being protected against further vandalism.

They have, however, apparently succeeded in inciting mods to delete some of the surrounding articles which have not been as fleshed out yet. Hopefully the evidence that these users (reported here) are vandals is sufficient to end this campaign against these articles and allow them to be properly fleshed out, since notability takes more effort to establish in a genre of music that is not as dominated by major labels as many of the others.
Alainbryden (talk) 16:15, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Followup - note that the user who incited you to delete all those articles is being investigated here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Musicchief007. Hopefully this is helpful in resolving the issue.

I've gone to some effort to attempt to track down some of the pages that were too-hastily deleted. These are the ones I've found, but you'd know better than me what the set of pages was, and hopefully you can help us restore them (and their talk pages) again:

Replied on user talk page. declining restoration for now due to issues with notability and spamming (links to sales sites instead of refs) Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:08, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see where you're coming from. As someone unfamiliar with the genre and with the world of self-published music and small-time labels, it's very difficult to distinguish between apparent promotional material, and simply linking to the original proof that these albums exist (which are necessarily the very sites that sell the albums).

Could you instead restore the articles with a {{{{AfDM}}}} template and open up a Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion page for each like what's been done for Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sublight_Records and a couple other pages now contested due to this recent activity? They may not look like much, but these are actually incredibly popular records in the electronica music scene, many of which have hit the #1 charts on music torrenting sites like What.CD - which are understandably hard to use as evidence as they compete with the for-profit music distribution organizations that are used to establish notability among so many other genres. (For what it's worth, if you don't have an account, here's a screen shot showing that one of the above deleted albums is the 22nd most downloaded album of all time on popular site What.CD, which is an astonishing achievement for an artist who is unpromoted and on a self-publishing label.)

One anonymous poster on The Flashbulb's discussion page has put it quite well: "...the added complexity of an artist that prefers not to do many mainstream interviews. Both his | Chicago Tribune and aforementioned Sun Times pieces took the cover of the weekend editions of 2 very mainstream media sources. It cannot be linked directly, but even his Spotify plays/rankings for his top songs double and triple similar artists who are friendlier with the media like Squarepusher or Venetian Snares. If we're erasing a decade of users' work creating this page, then we should be removing a lot of other well-known electronic artists from Wikipedia under this precedent. If the content of the page is weak, then update it. But removing a page of an artist with millions of music streams and Youtube views, let alone 20-something physical albums is just going to continue this troll's cat and mouse game."

I believe that there's not enough justification right now to unilaterally delete all of these pages without further discussion at this point. I'm sure if the pages aren't sufficiently fleshed out there will be renewed efforts in the community to add the required reference material with the threat of deletion looming, but this is impossible to do without being able to edit the old articles or their talk pages, or even view their history. Need your guidance on creating a page for Komal Jha - Actress

Hello There !

I am Chinth - a hobby content contributor for both computer technical and entertainment related contents.

I would like to contribute to an article on Komal Jha - Actress, who has acted in some regional movies in India. I went through your speedy deletion comments and I understand that some writers in the past have contributed biased contents on the article. I wasn't getting the point of speedy deletion and hence I had commented too. I would want to create a neutral information page on the same personality with the due references to the fact files based on popular news papers or legitimately popular articles, which are published since a few years. I believe it makes a candidate for encyclopedic content. Still, since I am fairly new contributor to the Wikipedia, I want a little of expert guidance. Could you please help out in this regard?

Why did you delete something that is in my 'sandbox'?? As far as I know it is not published yet. I am still writing it. Could you please restore it so that I can finish it. The history of this - The page was uploaded and deemed a G11 violation by Seraphimblade. He explained things to me. He restored it to my sandbox for revision. It was IMMEDIATELY deleted by RHaworth for G11 violation before I had even realised it had been restored let alone made the necessary changes. He restored it so that I may make the changes. And now before I have finished making the changes you have deleted it for G11 violation. As far as I know it is in my sandbox ! for revision --not published. Why are you deleting it? How am I supposed to make any changes if it keeps getting deleted before I have a chance to? ? Clearly there is something going wrong here and that I I am doing something wrong? Please explain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thisiswhatwefind (talkcontribs) 13:49, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimfbleak Thank you for the extensive background to Wikipedia policy. I am not being compensated for writing this article. As I explained to Seraphimblade the addition of a link to sales was not made by me although obviously on my user page. I shared the page at that time with somebody in order for them to add some details that I did not have. And just before I posted the page they had added a link or something to a site where things could be bought. I 'uploaded' it without knowing of this addition. Anyhow I know that this is not allowed and it is very clearly my fault. As far as I know this content was removed by Seraphimblade when the article was returned to me to make further changes of a descriptive nature. Necessary changes were explained and I was intending to make those changes and add corroboratory links etc. However since then the article has been repeatedly deleted without me having time to do so. is there a time limit to how long I have to make these changes? As far as I was aware nothing was seen by regular users of Wikipedia before I posted it again for publication which I have not done. And would not do until the issues very well explained by Seraphimblabe were addressed properly. he even offered to review the changes before it was published again and I was intending to take up his offer but I have been unable to complete any changes as the article is repeatedly removed for a continuing violation that I was unaware of. I was of the understanding that the sandbox was somewhere that .. to quote.. the sandbox " serves as a testing spot and page development space for the user and is not an encyclopaedia article." Is this not the case as you suggest? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thisiswhatwefind (talkcontribs) 14:41, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
