Kono

On Kono, it is nice to know he received apologies from the media. But he also defended Aum Shinrikyo and criticized the media in its coverage of Aum Shinrikyo as well.

Used Matsumoto incident as test for future ones: unproven

This is speculative. Who says that? Why not attributed? This is opinion, where is the author?
