Surbhi Jyoti (pronounced [suːrbʱiː ˈdʒjɔːt̪iː]) is an Indian television actress. She is known for her five roles in the TV series Qubool Hai.[1]

Early and personal life

Jyoti was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India.[2] She has one brother.[3] Jyoti received her early education from Shiv Jyoti Public School and then graduated from Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.[4] As a student of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, she participated in debates and received honours.[5][6] She received a Master of Arts degree in English from Apeejay College of Fine Arts.[7] Jyoti currently lives in Malad, a suburb in Western Mumbai.[8]

Career

Jyoti started her career with the regional theatre and films.[2] She worked in Punjabi language films Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Raula Pai Gaya and Munde Patiala De[9] as well as the Punjabi television series' Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na and Kach Diyan Wanga.[10]

In the end of 2012, Jyoti got the television show Qubool Hai which was produced by 4 Lions Films and was telecasted on Zee TV.[11] She played the role of Zoya Farooqui.[12] For the portrayal of the character, she won the award for GR8!
