The Free (Livres, LIVRES) is a liberal party in Brazil. It was founded on October 30, 1994, and registered on the Superior Electoral Court on June 2, 1998.[2]

At the legislative elections, 6 October 2002, the party won 1 out of 513 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and no seats in the Senate. In 2006 did not win seats in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Senate. In 2010, the party won 1 seat in the Chamber of Deputies and no seats in the Senate.

The party was against the Impeachment of Dilma Rousseff.[citation needed]

As of 2015, PSL has been undergoing a reform led by internal social-liberal wing "Livres", with names as Fábio Ostermann, of Instituto Liberal [pt] and Free Brazil Movement and journalist Leandro Narloch, reinforcing the party affiliation with social liberal policies.[3][4]
