iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max ("X" pronounced "ten") (stylized and marketed as iPhone Xs) are phablet type of smartphones designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on September 12, 2018, alongside XS Max and XR, at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino by Apple CEO Tim Cook, with preorders beginning September 14, 2018 and official release on September 21, 2018.[1] The iPhone XS and XS Max succeed the iPhone X as the flagship device in the iPhone series. China and Hong Kong will be one of those countries of first session of launching.[2]

The iPhone XS has a similar design as the iPhone X but includes upgraded hardware like the A12 Bionic chip, built with a 7 nanometer process.[3] It also features a 5.8 inch OLED screen and contains dual 12-megapixel rear cameras and a 7-megapixel selfie camera. The iPhone XS is rated IP68, an improvement for water and dust resistance since the iPhone 7.[4]

iPhone XS Max was released alongside the iPhone XS in the same event, it’s only difference is the display being expanded to 6.5 inches.
