vandalism

Hi,

I've noticed a few days ago you blocked user 205.175.121.101. Today he vandalized another article, as you can see here:

Hi

Could you please take a look at the Martial Race article particularly, the Modern Usage section as there is contradictions in the article, Iduleguy says something and when you got to verity his sources the claims state otherwise. Please see discussion of the article. This is my diff here and is consistent with the sources, his diffs contradict the sources in which he is taking some comments out of context and adding his own commentary to the article. He is also removing the {{disputed}} tag on the section and removing my information. He is only doing this as when you actually read the links (citation) its nothing like what he trying to state in the article on wiki. He is clearly deliberately embellishing the truth and adding his own commentary. --StreetScholar 18:43, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you do read it, please take time to read complete articles on the 4 India Pakistan Wars (the sources provided within those articles) and then the citations given in the martial race article to arrive at a complete picture. I fear Street Scholar is doing injustice to historical writing by not even reading the sources provided and misreading (if he does read i.e.) one line for another. He claims that i said 65 and 47 wars were drubbings to Pakistan, when clearly, I have said it is only 71 war. Street Scholar expects to have even the sources read out, line by line and wants only online sources, which is incredulous. btw, he is also racially and religously biased IMO, with statements like "idolaters" being used, not mentioned in the original cite. Idleguy 19:08, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I'm completely out of my element when it comes to this subject. All I can do right now is ask you both to assume good faith and remain civil. Consider taking your case to mediation if needs be. Sorry I can't be of more help. --Fang Aili talk 19:11, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And also 3RR. You are both in violation of that or very nearly, already. --Fang Aili talk 19:15, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bagnall Elementary School

So somebody deleted all the information I put into the page and as I trying to find the category for "Magnet Schools in Massachusetts", you added the deletion notice. It's a "magnet" school, meaning it has nationwide recognition for something of which I'm no expert, but I truly expected it to remain for more than a few hours. LymanSchool 22:00, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. Hopefully somebody will improve the aiticle, it's referenced in Groveland, Massachusetts and I have promises that some high school students will make entries for the referenced (red-lined) high schools. I just put in the grade school for balance. LymanSchool 23:02, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't much of anything. Hopefully something will get added. Since I live in Groveland, Massachusetts, I decided to fix up the entry that had been hacked and 'gestimated' by anonymous for about a year. This involved adding the school that was supposed to be --well famous??? That's what the townsfolk say anyway. With your new tag, maybe somebody will tell us why it's famous...later. --LymanSchool 01:33, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fang Aili, I put up a new article about "Patrick Lenehan." You may think that this was not a big deal, but he scored 5 goals in one game for the two-time defending national champions Messiah College. Please reconsider your deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.42.165.133 (talkcontribs)

Why did you delete the food ninja article? It is fact as my neighbor and I have experienced this many many times. We eventually heard about who was doing it, and were shocked. But now, it has become a legend in these parts and there is now an increasingly growing number of incidents. Please do not delete it as it is informative. Note, it is not vandalism, nothing is ever damaged. As it was stated the food is always whole, and in still eatable form... ie, not splattered or anything. I experienced whole, warm still wrapped taco bell burritos on my deck! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Foodninja (talkcontribs)

Hi there!

I started my very first article yesterday, "Craftster." I was curious as to why it's been removed? I read lots of tutorials and such and tried to do my best.  :)

It's an online community such as LiveJournal, but it's only for entries about crafting, recycling, etc. No personal blogs are allowed on the site and everything is organized into categories based on the project being discussed (housewares, knitting, etc.).

Any help or guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much, Jean Sweets4ever (talk · contribs)

Hello again! Thanks for your super fast reply.  :) Would it be possible for you to send me the text of the original article so I could edit it to be more of an encyclopedic tone? I tried, but I think I'm just naturally too chipper! I'll try again.  :) Could you help me in determining which would be some great examples of notability? I was thinking these, but I'm not sure and could use some guidance:
Associated Content Article
WorldStart
Wisconsin State Journal
TIME.com
USA Today Hot Site
Sfist
Thanks again for all of your help,
Jean
Thanks AGAIN! You're the best! I'll try to work on it tonight! Sorry I forgot to sign before, but I've got the hang of it now! ;)

Hi there

I have just been getting a bit of advice from the administrator who put the delete tag on my article Graphic Display Systems and he said that i should recreate the article and apologised for marking my work with an advertising tag. I'm a very new contributor to wikipedia and have made a few mistakes which i really do intend to iron out. There was a blatant advertising tag on my article which really disillusioned me as i'm not advertising any products in particular– just really keen on putting my first full article onto wikipedia (my friend has published quite a few articles on fairtrade) as i think it's a cool hobby. I have made a previous article Roller Banners which is intended to be a part of my main article in which i hope to provide as much information as possible including; how to use tools for display systems, forums to visit where these things are discussed, the many different types of systems used and where they are used. I also searched wikipedia extensively and found some articles on point of sale but nothing really in depth regarding my subject area so i believe it's a great chance to share some of the knowledge i have accumulated (and am still collecting!) aswell as being constructive in my spare time. Please can you help me to get my article back, perhaps give me some helpful pointers and let me carry on. I know you're probably busy and have a whole bunch of things to do but i'm no advertiser and i'd like to get on as i've got loads more to do. Your help will be much appreciated. Admin Coaching

Hey Fang Aili!

Something strange is going on over at the Admin coaching page. User:The Transhumanist recently created an "Admin School" which was supposed to do...well, basically the same thing as Admin Coaching: prep editors for Adminship, though it was run by non-Admins. It appears this was quickly rejected by the community. Now, a few users, including Transhumanist, have posted to the Admin Coaching talk page. They want to change the name of the program. They also want to change how the program is run, with proposals for multiple levels of "trust", etc. Since these folks aren't admins, and since The Transhumanist has only been with us for a few months, these proposals are a little strange: their new "Virtual classroom" talks about what browser to use, but doesn't address anything that an Admin trainee would need to become an admin. It's alarming, because these nice folks have had no experience being admins, and in Carcharoth's latest post he proposes revamping the entire program, with a system of levels through which users would have to "graduate" (which is, I assume, where the Virtual School comes in. Since you are an admin coach, and these many proposed changes will affect you, please weigh in on the discussion here. Thanks, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:49, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am coaching Exir Kamalabadi, trying to give all the advice given to me by my admin coach. I think the admin coaching program is great, and needs no changes, but I'm certainly willing to support adjustments. But these proposals come from people who haven't ever been admins, and The Transhumanist has only been editing for four months. The changes proposed are drastic, and appear to place an emphasis on things an admin candidate should already know. Thanks for looking. Firsfron of Ronchester 20:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, my last trainee, Ginkgo100, was great long before I even met her. She didn't require a lot of training, just some helpful advice. Exir is also coming along very well. Regarding the "schools": Transhumanist first started "Admin school. When that was deleted, he started a "virtual classroom". Now these efforts to rework Admin Coaching, with multiple levels... you're absolutely right. It's total instruction creep. Firsfron of Ronchester 20:18, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would request that there be some prior discussion before deleting all external links.

It may be justified -- certainly that list is unusual; including all those links may be inappropriate -- but so is wholesale deletion without explanation.

Deletion of Slang Ozzanese

I noticed from your edit summary that you deleted this article because it was ‘not English’. Certainly that was true; however, I wonder whether you were perfectly aware of what the Template:Notenglish (which I believe had been placed at the head of the article) is intended to convey? In brief it is not saying: ‘Please, if you happen upon this article and are an administrator, could you delete this?’

Rather it is saying: ‘Yes, this article is in a foreign language, but please do not delete it at this moment. I have listed it on the page Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English and it will be looked at and considered for translation.’

This article was in fact listed only today on Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English. The idea is that Wikipedians sufficiently fluent in foreign languages can read and review such articles, checking for notability and copyright infringements and, if appropriate, turn them into English articles: sometimes by translating them in full, sometimes by adapting them, sometimes, if the article is problematic, but the subject is significant, by reducing them to stubs. Sometimes they may be transwikied.

The aim, of course, is not to salvage everything which appears on the English Wikipedia in a foreign language. If after two weeks the article has not been turned into English it is listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Very often it is Speedied much earlier than that by an editor who knows the language and can see that it is inherently nonsense, vanity, copy-vio or whatever.

Please forgive what may seem an overlong plea for the reinstatement of this article. (In fact, though I would like you to undelete it, I thought when I glanced at it that it was rubbish. Although it must said that on at least one occasion I have identified a foreign language article as blatant self-promoting nonsense which was nothing of the sort.) But what really concerns me is that you may have been misled by the wording of the Notenglish template. Perhaps it needs to say something more clearly to admins who come across it. Might you have any suggestions there?

Cheers, —Ian Spackman 23:21, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for administrator attention

I'd like to place links to the Admin coaching program at the following locations, but they keep getting systematically removed or reverted:

I've also placed a see also reference in the lead paragraph of Administrators' reading list, but I don't know how long it will last.

Various reasons have been cited, including "it's a controversial program of a controversial group". Whatever the reasons, the end result is that Admin coaching is being choked off and isolated from the Wikipedia community of which it is supposedly a part.

I believe you have deleted my hempology 101 page. I am not sure why, and would appreciate an explanation and any assistance you can provide in making the page acceptable to wikipedia standards. The Hempology 101 club is a long standing organization in Victoria with several hundred members. It functions to further the cause of medical marijuana and holistic health. I have permission to reproduce all content copied onto the site. I appreciate your attention in resolving these issues.

Hi, i was wondering why you deleted the page on the band aconite. It was my first addition, and i tried my best, if it is a lack of information then that is a problem, because there isn't anything more to know, since as someone I know knew them personally, and that is everything they know. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

Can you please help? Apocolocynthosis is adding unsourced, unverifed claims to the article Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He claims he has a source but he doesn't cite it. He persisits despite multiple warnings. I (and a few other people) try to reason with him, but he then acts like a 10-year old and accuses us of censorship. It's really getting out of hand. Hi!

I noticed you deleted my article for jewelkilcherforum.com. Could you please explain why??

I never meant to break any rules or policies. I merely wanted to start a wiki page that describes my website. I have seen many other wikipedia pages doing the same. So I apologise if I did anything wrong but I would just like to understand what happened.

deletion of article
