Yvie Oddly is the stage name of Jovan Bridges,[1] an American drag queen, performer and singer, best known for competing on the eleventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Early life

Bridges was born on August 22, 1993 in Denver, Colorado.[2] He started doing professional drag in 2012 on Valentine's Day.[3] The name Yvie Oddly is a play on words of "even odder".[4] He is the second queen from Denver to compete on Drag Race, after Nina Flowers.[5]

Career

Oddly was the winner of the Ultimate Queen of Denver pageant in 2015.[6][7] In 2014 she was an extra in the video for Sharon Needles's "Dressed To Kill".[8] She was also in the music video for Adore Delano's "Negative Nancy" n 2017.[9]

Drag Race

Oddly was announced to be on season eleven of RuPaul's Drag Race on January 24, 2019.[10] She was the winner of the episode two main challenge with Scarlet Envy.[11][12] She was in a "double-shantay" lip sync with Brooke Lynn Hytes to Demi Lovato's "Sorry Not Sorry".[13][14][15] During the show, she was in a constant rivalry with fellow competitor Silky Nutmeg Ganache.[16][17] Judge Todrick Hall apologized for calling her "spastic" in an episode.[18] She is currently in the top four.[19][20]

Music

Oddly released her first single with Cazwell, "Weirdo" on May 22, 2019.[21] A music video was released the day before.[22]

Personal life

Oddly is diagnosed with type 3 Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.[23][24][25]
