Fancruft
This article can't last, it is the very definition of fancruft. Lots42 (talk) 12:13, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Even with blogs only noteable enough to have their own article, this page will become too bloated to be of any real use. Maybe sub-pages, like all blogs about science fiction...Lots42 (talk) 12:19, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Sub-sections
As a writer of a blog on the list, I am worried that my blog will be removed because it is as recognized as the others on the list. Sub-sections would allow the list to expand and include all blogs not matter the credibility as precived by the public. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtsports92 (talk • contribs) 00:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Even if it was broken down into sections, we could not allow EVERY blog on the list. It would just be to large, as there are thousands and thousands of blogs. If your blog is notable enough to have its own Wikipedia article, with sources to meet notability criteria, it can and will certainly be included on the list with all haste. Scapler (talk) 01:14, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have made a counter argument to your case numerous times regarding notability. You are entitled to check the Talk Page for ((Joey's sports blog)) for it. All of you censorers on Wikipedia have no identity. By coping and pasting entire guidelines by Wikipedia does not justify your purpose. On a side note, you do not think it would be beneficial to unite all the blogs of the internet onto one reputable source? Wouldn't it be great to have a site the advocates free press with the epitome of free speech?Jtsports92 (talk) 21:40, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- We've been through this before, and this blog is a good example of why I pushed to delete the article. Since it stands, the only way that this article is managable at all is if it is limited to blogs that have their own articles on wikipedia. Since your blog has been deleted numerous times from the wiki, it doesn't seem notable enough for this list either. Dayewalker (talk) 01:59, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- WP:Lists (stand-alone lists) states: "Each entry on a list should have its own non-redirect article in English Wikipedia" (unless it is created for the explicit purpose of such things, like List of Naruto characters. Scapler (talk) 02:12, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
"No articles = no inclusion here"
I had my edits reverted due to "No articles = no inclusion here" which struck me as rather foolish. Isn't the purpose of a wiki to have a community assist in editing a subject? Due to this everything on a wiki is a work in progress. I was aware that there was likely no articles connected to the links and I had hoped and assumed that someone else would create articles for the links if I did not get to it in a reasonable amount of time, as is supposed to happen with a wiki. 72.227.230.250 (talk) 16:46, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Please note the large warning at the top of the page when you edit:
- <!-- IF YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THIS MESSAGE, YOUR EDIT WILL BE ROLLED BACK WITHOUT WARNING.
- ONLY place entries here that are links to actual Wikipedia articles about notable blogs. External links, redlinks, substubs, non-notable sites or sites that are not blogs will be removed. If you have questions, use the talk page. Please try to keep entries in alphabetical order. Adding unnecessary links or text anywhere else will also be removed. Thanks.

- We are merely enforcing Wikipedia policy. As I mentioned above: WP:Lists (stand-alone lists) states: "Each entry on a list should have its own non-redirect article in English Wikipedia" (unless it is created for the explicit purpose of such things, like List of Naruto characters). - No such policy exists! The "policy" was created by chopping off the rest of the sentence in question:
- "Each entry on a list should have its own non-redirect article in English Wikipedia, but this is not required if the entry is verifiably a member of the listed group, and it is reasonable to expect an article could be forthcoming in the future." 2604:2000:1580:415A:1920:48F:A553:49A1 (talk) 14:37, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Merger proposal
It's been suggested that Home and family blog be merged into this article. Please discuss. ↜Just me, here, now … 06:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether that would make a whole lot of sense, to have a list, and then suddenly an explanation of one very specific type of blog. Cheers! Scapler (talk) 11:00, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- The new article should never have been split from this article in the first place. merge the content back (if it is not already here) 16x9 (talk) 15:15, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- It was never split. The blogs themselves should be in the list, but I would object to merging any of the prose into the article. Cheers! Scapler (talk) 18:20, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Okay then merge the prose to Blog. And it was split. If this list with the same-ish material already exist and a new one with a subset of that material was created then it was split. 16x9 (talk) 22:27, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
See that discussion has ended I will start merging content soon. 16x9 (talk) 20:54, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- IMO we should continue to keep the List of family-and-homemaking blogs article separate until or unless the articles/article sections Art blog, Audio blog, Blog fiction, Bloggernacle, Classical music blog, Corporate blog, Cyberchurch, Dream journal, Edublog, Fake blog, Fashion blog, Journalist blog, J-Blogosphere, Litblog, News blog, Niche blog, Online journal, Police blog, Political blog, Prayer Blog, Project blog, Travel blog, and/or Warblog are likewise merged to the omnibus Blog article and the List of blogs article. ↜Just M E here , now 08:42, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
PLEASE NOOOOOO!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.222.185.142 (talk) 23:27, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
✗ Not done: It appears this proposal became inactive, so I'm removing the {{merge}} tags. No prejudice against re-tagging. If someone wants to put the tags back and restart discussion, feel free. I have no opinion on the matter, I'm just cleaning house. FYI, the other page apparently got moved to List of family-and-homemaking blogs in the meantime. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 19:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Incomplete list?
The tag at the top says that this is an incomplete list. But if our standard is that the blogs here need a Wikipedia article, then it is not true that the list "never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness". At least, not with respect to the particular standards that we are using. So, I suggest the tag be removed, or replaced with "Expand list". StAnselm (talk) 05:29, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
Subject column redundancies
Almost every entry in the Subject column says something like, "blog about X." The word "blog" seems redundant here, given that we have already been told that we are discussing blogs. As I read it, no information would be lost if that word were deleted. The entries would be more concise and flow more smoothly. Obviously, someone thought it was important, but it sounds a bit choppy to my ear. 1canuckbuck (talk) 11:54, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
Blog Suggestions?
I know of 2 blogs which i think would be worth listing. blog.monitis.com (GFI / Monitis blog) where GFI has already a page. But the page is not about the blog. And blog.serverdensity.com where server density does not have a page at the moment. Both are very technical and very active.
MSDN
MSDN is a redlink. Is there a part about it in the Microsoft Article? Should it be deleted? Origamite\(·_·\)(/·_·)/ 12:25, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
Blogs covered within articles
I recently added a link to Darren Naish's Tetrapod Zoology and was surprised to see it removed. The blog is covered in a section of the author's wiki page but does not have its own article. I guess the thinking is that the blog does not possess "independent notability" since it does not have its own article. But since there is relevant content to link to, it seems reasonable to do so in this list. Thoughts? 67.188.230.128 (talk) 03:50, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- @73.223.96.73: Hi. Most stand-alone lists on Wikipedia follow the "common selection criteria". For non-exhaustive lists (exhaustive as in the discography of Metallica, list of countries in Asia, list of Academy Award winners, or list of lakes in Michigan), that typically means each entry should have its own Wikipedia article. I get your point, however, about there being a section and a redirect here. For such a scenario I don't have very strong opinions when the section is well-sourced to the point that it could be considered notable (sometimes notable subjects are better covered as a sub-section rather than a stand-alone article), but the section about the blog at Darren Naish#Tetrapod Zoology unfortunately doesn't even have one reliable secondary source supporting it. It does seems significant enough to mention at Naish's article, and there are almost certainly sources that talk about it, but I don't think it's appropriate to include here at this point.
- Of course, my opinion about including redirects to notable subjects covered in sections doesn't necessarily extend to everyone who edits this page. In fact there's a warning in an html comment in the article which states that an article is required. This makes me think there are unlikely to be exceptions. Have you looked for sources about the blog to see if it could sustain a stand-alone article? — Rhododendrites talk \\ 19:07, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Congratulation & my appreciation for Authors who did efforts to create the list of Notable Blogs
This is a great effort by the Author of the " List of Blogs " who create the list of notable blogs.
However the guideline of notability is still - not as per wikipedia policy - I severally suffered from this and the great thing is that you can not contest the deletion n if you try to do that there are several other come in a minutes. Now notability is the subject of some admins self created mind made policy, which they apply any where to delete put notices, reverting or do any thing which they want.
The list of creating notable blogs are really a good efforts and I request all admins & wiki users to let this page be on wikipedia & co-operate with this author with positive mind by providing your contribution in a positive way so this wikipage can be developed in a way that people can take good references and create knowledgeable , fair articles with the help of such sources.

template. The blog doesn't have a Wikipedia article and according to the message at the beginning of the article the consensus is to include blogs with Wikipedia articles. If you feel this article should be included then you can create the article or find a third party reliable source to propose Traveling King's inclusion without an article as per WP:LISTCOMPANY as consensus can change over time. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 06:34, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
