I feel like having separate maps of protections for sexual orientation and gender identity would make the map more readable.

Maps too much?

Are all the maps a bit too much? --Varnent (talk)(COI) 03:52, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The nation-wide maps are absolutely enough in this article. The state maps should be (and they are) included in appropriate articles such as LGBT rights in Pennsylvania. Including these files here is big exaggeration. Ron 1987 (talk) 04:58, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Factual error(s?)

There is a factual error in the "State law" section. The section states that "Twenty states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico have statutes that protect against both sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in employment in the public and private sector." The section goes on to include New York in the list. However, the reference that is offered to support this point indicates that gender identity discrimination is banned in New York by agency regulation--not by statute. The map displayed in this section contains the same error. This makes me wonder whether there are other, similar factual errors in this section.

I have not done anything to correct the error regarding New York because I do not know how to correct the accompanying map. SunCrow (talk) 05:58, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

According to the ACLU, 18 states ban discrimination against transgender people.[1] This number may or may not be different than the number of states that have "statutes that protect against both sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in employment in the public and private sector."
