Help Required for improving/publishing a wiki page.

Hello, Kylie Tastic, I have created a wikipedia draft and submitted it. Would you please read it and suggest me how can I improve it and increase its chance to get published. Also, Can you give me a rough idea how many days it would take to get a decision from the review (I know that there is no specific order but just a general idea about the timespan if you could enlighten me with)? Thanks --Kabid1026 (talk) 06:50, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the draft link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Malik_Khurram_Shahzad Kabid1026 (talk) 07:07, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

UPD1: Hello, Kylie. Can you help me in this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kabid1026 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Kabid1026 I'm at work so don't have much time, and also to be fair to all submitters I don't review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Plus I'm not doing as much reviewing at the moment, and I tend to avoid WP:BLPs so not the best to ask. However I can make a couple of quick comments: as they help a political position that probably makes them notable per WP:NPOL, however some of the claims do need sources which is even more important for a WP:BIO - for instance there are 3 sections with no sources, and no source for what they are doing now. Also the "See also" section should not list very general links to the subject such as Pakistan, keep it to more direct items such as Government of Pakistan. Hope that helps KylieTastic (talk) 15:58, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ralf Ziervogel page

Hey

you have declined an artist page for German artist Ralf Ziervogel for lack of independent references - as I have provided quite a few sources of relevant curators/ publications, I wonder what else you would need. This artist has had multiple museum exhibitions in both Germany and USA, so would think topic is both notable and well covered. Any pointers on what to improve would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi, I assume your talking about Draft:Ralf Ziervogel - when I declined the article looked like this. Almost all the content and sources where added afterwards. However the article was not resubmitted for review - the blue "Resubmit" button on the decline note, and then the blue "Public changes" button at the bottom. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:04, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kyle,

thank you for your advice and help, I just followed your guideline and did what you wrote, can you please check it again? Thank you.

Polycarpe Joaillier - rejected?

Hi Kylie The article was rejected mentioning "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources.". What are the reliable sources? There are almost no info on the web about this person and they are wrong. He is my grand grand father and I have the right infos. I would be pleased to understand the real/exact reason. Thanks and regards Fabrizio — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fabetto (talkcontribs) 15:47, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Fabetto you can look at Wikipedia:Reliable sources for a definition, and note that sources do not need to be online, they can also be books, newspapers, etc. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) in this case see Wikipedia:Notability (people), which in most cases requires significant coverage in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) that are verifiable (see WP:V). As they are your grandfather there is also the issue of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest as most people with one can not write with a total Wikipedia:Neutral point of view (another key principle here). Reinquiring verifiable reliable sources does mean that some worthy subjects cannot get articles, but without those standards it would just be like blog, websites and social media with lots of claims of truth with no evidence. I hope you can find more sources to back up your article. All the best KylieTastic (talk) 17:51, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kylie Thank you for the explanations. There is no significant info about this person so I have doubt about wiki's "reliable sources". In any case, my website www.sebahjoaillier.com contains information only basis documents from consulates, churches, cemeteries, family, etc. and I don't write anything without any prove. This website and my future book may one day be few of wiki's "reliable sources", we will see. Until then, I shall consider any wiki info with question marks because of the verification way. Kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fabetto (talkcontribs) 19:14, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help please

Dear Kylie I hope this not find you well. I wonder f yo can help. I saw that you were one of the people contributed to my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kameel_Ahmady. I would like some one to post my photo on my bio ( http://kameelahmady.com/new/en/kameel-ahmady-15/ ) which i know understand it can not be done by myself. Can you kindly post it for me? Best Kameel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kameel14 (talkcontribs) 09:05, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Kameel14 if Kameel Ahmady is yourself then you must review the guideline Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. As for an image those cannot be used as they have been published without a relevant suitable 'free' licence in fact the opposite "All photos and text Copyright © Kameel Ahmady. All rights reserved Reproduction or use by any means". However you can upload a new image to our sister site Wikimedia Commons that can be used here, or you can use an already published photograph (as I see you have already done) if the copyright owner provide the relevant open permission see c:COM:OTRS/CONSENT for the consent generator. You may think those images are your to donate but they have been flagged as copyright violations as the meta data attached indicates that "Milad Beheshti" owns the copyright. I'm not an expert on copyright or very active on commons so if you have questions try c:Commons:Village pump/Copyright. Hope that helps, Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:22, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot Kylie I am new to all this :-). I will post a selfie which I think it will be OK. There are some issues been reported and a notice been put up on top my page which I believe someone other than me resolve it. Can you kindly help to fix the problems and remove the notice please? Thanks a lot — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.199.121.34 (talk) 07:16, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Clearification

Well done sir. The biography of Charles Egbu can never be a Nigerian academic because of he has never thought in Nigeria, he did his fist degree in UK, Master's degree in UK, phD. In UK and obtained the tittle of professor in UK. Therefore, he can either be a UK academic or an academic but not Nigerian academic. Sadeeqzaria (talk) 21:49, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quick note on Meru County

Oops, I should have checked that, I was using an automated typo fixer. Thanks for fixing Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 12:17, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Railway

Roughton Road station is correctly shown on the template on the left hand line as an open station with the open station icon, but on the right hand line, there appears to show a closed Roughton Road station with a closed station icon. I ask if that is correct, as I cannot seem to trace a previous station there prior to British Rail opening their station. If my assumption on that matter is correct, the closed station icon on the right hand line against Roughton Road needs removing from the line template.

Request for Review

Hello, Kylie Tastic, I had created a wikipedia draft and submitted it. Its has not been reviewed for almost 3 months. Please could you help and review the draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Adeeb_Ahamed. Thank you very much. (Kuruvillac (talk) 14:47, 17 August 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Draft:Plevo

Dear Kyle,

Thank you for your advice and help to write my first article. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Plevo) I followed what you wrote and added additional references as you suggested. Can you please check it again? Thank you. --Nieto Ivan Gabriel (talk) 14:40, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Nieto Ivan Gabriel thanks for adding the extra information and sources. However to be fair to all submitters I don't re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. You can either submit or use one of the two options in the decline notice for "If you need extra help..." or just resubmit and one of the active reviewers will get to it. One note it that it could seem rather non-neutral as it's written as all positive but I note that all the fundraisers appear to have a lot of complaints (but it's not easy to tell if this is a significant number of backers or not). Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:22, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

From what I saw there are just a few fundraisers that complained. Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will read the articles you sent me.--Nieto Ivan Gabriel (talk) 21:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 15:31:58, 22 August 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Sherlock2020

Hi, I dont understand what needs to be added in, it is all factual and correct to my knowledge ? Can you advise what else needs to be included or changed with this article? Thanks :)

Sherlock2020 (talk) 15:31, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Sherlock2020 is not about being "factual and correct" Wikipedia works based on a concept of notability. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So social media accounts, and the subjects own content have no bearing on notability as not independent. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:42, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I will add more notable references, would that suffice then? Sherlock2020 (talk) 16:03, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Sherlock2020 yes the key to getting an article accepted is to show notability with content backed by multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). After that it's just having additional content backed by sources. So look for things like articles written about them (rather than by them). Then once you've done that just resubmit. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:13, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, KylieTastic I have submitted some more links from newspapers, charity websites and from the Book Publishing house the individual is working with. Also there was a blog piece which I added in at its an external notable source. I duno if you are the person who can review it again? but thanks again for your help. If I find others links down the line I will edit them in Sherlock2020 (talk) 16:58, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

KylieTastic OK fair enough, I have it all updated and took out a few things, one part did seem like an advertisement which was not the case. if you happen to stumble across it again. I thank you in advance  :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sherlock2020 (talkcontribs) 12:12, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why you not reviewing my draft?

Draft: Lockdown Ki Love Story is reviewed by you in previous times. Now why you are not reviewing? I add reliable sources to it,you can check also. Please review it and transfer to main space ASAP. Unknownnreasonn (talk) 10:09, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Unknownnreasonn there are currently 1,420 pending submissions submissions waiting for a review, some have been waiting up to 2 months (see Category:AfC pending submissions by age). Reviews are done by volunteers and unfortunately there are always more submitters than volunteers. Some of the key reviewers who used to review 100+ a day are not currently active. I have not been reviewing much myself due to real life issues. It is a regrettable problem that I wish there was a solution for, but unless more experienced editors take part, the unacceptably long waits will continue. To be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:36, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@KylieTastic: I know it is rejected a twice but can you help me in transferring the draft to main space ASAP?? Unknownnreasonn (talk) 11:30, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you need any assistance, you can ask for help

Sorry to bother you, but the truth is that I was hoping you could help me to get the page that I've been working on published. I genuinely believe that it should be, but Wikipedia is not my forte...can you do anything to help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makeajesting (talkcontribs) 11:20, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Makeajesting I see this is about Draft:Mim Shaikh. Note that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Currently all the sources appear to be interviews so not independent, although some interview sources are OK as references most are not. What you need to do is find other sources that talk about the subject and there work. Hope that helps explain things a bit. Also for general help as a hew editor the Wikipedia:Teahouse is a good place to ask lots of experienced editors and admins for advice. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:26, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for replying. Like I say, Wikipedia isn't something that comes naturally to me. Absolutely there are articles, but he's also available on DVD, Bluray, streaming and actually the radio. I just don't know how else to prove that he should be here, because I don't have the skills to. I'm probably not even the first person to ask you this today, but is there anything that you can and especially might be willing to do to help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makeajesting (talkcontribs) 11:30, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Makeajesting notability is not about having done things (such as "DVD, Bluray, streaming and actually the radio") but having been "noted" for it by others independent. What you have done so far shows you have the basic editing skills to just add basic references (i.e. <ref>http://....source...</ref> so you just need to add any if they exist. If independent reliable sources don't exist then they will no qualify for a Wikipedia article. It is not a subject I know or am interested in and there are 3500+ articles waiting for review, plus a dozen I am working on myself. Search around for any articles, reviews about them and add them as references, and as I said ask at Wikipedia:Teahouse to ask multiple editors who are looking to help. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:41, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
