This user doesn't care whether you use {{talkback}}, {{ping}}, or {{reply to}} when you reply to him on other pages. He just wants to be notified somehow.

Welcome to my talk page. If you want to get in touch with me, please add your message at the bottom of this page. Please remember to create new sections for new discussion threads and to sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~). If you just want to chat informally, you can also find me on the Wikipedia Discord server.

Coffee

Well on Discord you said you hadn't had a coffee... anyway thanks for the draft help. You go slurp and I'll munch on my leaves. And you've beaten me to a lot of stuff at the edit filter so I've seen you around on wiki as well. :) Regards, Giraffer (munch) 10:17, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Giraffer: Thank you very much! This has motivated me to have a go at the draft now - I'd appreciate your feedback. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 10:49, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Message by Fogoros09

Hi, I am a new editor and need help creating false information on a page. Not sure if this is how to best contact you, but any help would be much appreciated! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fogoros09 (talkcontribs) 20:34, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fogoros09: Hi. I'm assuming you're referring to your contributions to The Heritage School (Newnan, Georgia) and that you meant to say you want to remove false information? If that's the case, I would highly recommend you discuss your concerns with the other editors who work on that page first. You can do so by using the article talk page. Removing (sourced) content without a very good explanation is generally frowned upon and might get you blocked for disruptive editing. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions or concerns. PS: Please remember to place new talk pages messages in new sections (I have taken the liberty to do this for you) and to sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~). Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 20:50, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, and yes I did mean remove lol. Fogoros09 (talk) 21:15, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blablubbs, I would like to request your help with maintaining the correct information on the site for The Heritage School. I have repeatedly entered the correct information, while also retaining controversial information in an important section, yet a user name Jacona continually reverts my edits. It appears she may have an interest in slandering the school, and addressing controversial topics as centerpoints to the school. I believe they should be discussed as I have left them, but in appropriate context. As I am new to WP I am not sure how to handle this situation and would be grateful for any help! (~~~~) Best, — Fogoros09

@Fogoros09: I won't help you reinstate the edits because — from my limited insight into the matter — the information you removed seems to be well sourced. I can however give you some general advice:
  1. Explain your concerns to the other editor involved. Don't keep reinstating the content before gaining consensus. Edit warring is not taken lightly on Wikipedia.
  2. Comment on content, not contributors. Accusing other, established editors of vandalism or acting in bad faith without good evidence will not help you make your case and might get you blocked.
  3. Provide a substantive argument for why you think the content you are removing shouldn't be there. The first-party account by the school itself is likely biased in favour of the school and as such does not outweigh contemporaneous accounts by people unaffiliated with the subject. If you want to challenge those sources, you will have to provide evidence that they are not factually accurate, which you have not done at this point.
  4. Do not post potentially copyrighted content to Wikipedia articles as you seem to have done here. That's considered a very serious offence.

I hope you can resolve this matter amicably. (PS: You need to type the tildes without "nowiki" tags around them, otherwise you won't be able to sign your messages). Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 15:19, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help! I have tried to retain the controversial information, but categorize it appropriately. Just want the full story to be told. User Jacona seems to think it is the only thing that matters and should be at the forefront. How do you address the order/format in which content is displayed? Fogoros09 (talk) 15:24, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fogoros09: Consider this a formal and final warning: Do not keep reinstating your preferred version of the page and discuss the matter first. You are in violation of WP:3RR, which is a blockable offence. — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 15:43, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am coming to you to request meditation as an editor between what appears to be an impasse between Jacona and I regarding how to display information. Fogoros09 (talk) 15:43, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Forogos09 At this point, the best advice I can give you is to disengage, familiarise yourself with Wikipedia policies (some of which I have linked above) and come back with a cool head. With your last few actions on that page, you have violated some of those policies (first and foremost WP:3RR) and might well get blocked because of it. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 15:55, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted

Why you keep reverting my edits. Once I thanked you for reverting my edit which I mistakenly did. But now I edit a valid point that you reverted. Any reason???😦😦😦 Mariam Athar (talk) 12:47, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mariam Athar: Hello, thank you for your message. I reverted your edit here because you added information that does not seem appropriate for the infobox. MOS:INFOBOX states that "[...] wherever possible, present information in short form, and exclude any unnecessary content." The information you added seemed extraneous to me (as I indicated in the edit summary), so I reverted your edit. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 12:55, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean that my edit was inappropriate??😐 Mariam Athar (talk) 13:02, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mariam Athar: Inappropriate for the infobox, yes – since we use infoboxes to briefly summarise the key points of an article. If an infobox field isn't applicable (in Iqbal's case that would be because he seemingly didn't receive any notable awards), it can simply be left blank. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 13:14, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But there was an option for editing the field of awards. 🤔🤔🤔 Mariam Athar (talk) 13:50, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Clap script

Hi! So, you might not remember this, but you remarked on the Discord the other day that you sometimes wish you could add a clap emoji to edit summaries. Well, in a weird bid to impress you, I made a script that does just that! Find it at User:WikiMacaroons/clap.js, write

importScript('User:WikiMacaroons/clap.js')

in your common.js page. When you're making an edit, simply press Alt and 6 (Ask me if you want a different shortcut) and it will append 👏 to your edit summary. Hope you like it! Thanks, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 18:53, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiMacaroons You actually did it! This is amazing (and I am indeed deeply impressed). I thought you were joking when you wrote that. Thank you very very much! I shall use it sparingly (to avoid getting blocked for uncivil edit summaries) but when I do, I shall do so with a heart full of joy. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 19:06, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warned IP

On this page there is edit warring : https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Greatest_Croatian&action=history, can you please revert it to original, I dont want to revert all the time what user 93.136.83.115 is deleting, he is obviously on a rampage today because he is deleting multiple pages . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/93.136.83.115 . Thank you.

Hi, I'm afraid I can't help you with that – I don't like getting involved in other people's content disputes. Those should be dealt with by seeking consensus, not by getting more people involved in the back and forth. You may want to note that the pages in question have been semi-protected, meaning that new and unregistered users will no longer be able to edit them. I also want to point out that both the IP you linked and yourself have commited numerous violations of the three-revert rule; please refrain from edit warring – it's highly disruptive and unlikely to achieve anything. Thanks! — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 11:59, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I admit it ,I broke the rule but as you can notice I was trying to restore content not to erase it. As you can see there is multiple pages change from the user 93.136.83.115. on this page too https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Danijel_Subašić&action=history. I dont want to reverte this anymore and risk blocking but someone needs to deal with the issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.9.202.230 (talk) 12:03, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Fillerbunny, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. Instead, I have started a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fillerbunny, which you may comment on. I have explained my reasons for doing so there. Thanks! Techie3 (talk) 14:45, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Techie3, I had completely missed the previous prod - thanks for noticing and fixing my mistake. I'll chip in at the AfD soon. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 14:48, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Central Office for Private Transfer Rights, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit removing for August 27

Hi, you removed my edits in article Kincsem. Every change I made were facts from newspapers from that era and replaced legends and conjectures from 20. century. All information was linked to newspapers online archives and could be verified. You threw away the facts and put back speculations... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.52.32.58 (talk) 13:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I reverted your edits because you had removed references without explanation and inserted content that didn't cite a reliable source. You are welcome to make such changes, but please back your additions up with inline references and provide adequate edit summaries that explain your reasoning whenever you remove references. Thanks, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 13:21, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I always thought that the Wikipedia was a serious source of information but I see it's not, if some internet articles from 21st century are more reliable then scans of ORIGINAL newspapers from National Libraries of Austria and Hungary... I put my hands away and finish the story about Kincsem only on my site turf.sk. Good bye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.52.32.58 (talk) 13:48, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that you didn't cite those sources. You may also want to note that your most recent edits weren't reverted by me, but by someone else. Thanks. — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 13:51, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I translate nearly word by word from Hungarian and German and after all my edits I add links to the specific pages in online archives. Waste time... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.52.32.58 (talk) 14:01, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, I had previously worked on Kincsem's article and very much appreciate the primary sources. If you like, I can try to reorganize and reword everything to the standards we are working towards with FA/GAs like Secretariat, Man o' War, California Chrome etc. Organizationally, we prefer to do a fairly cursory introduction on the horse's breeding in the Background section, with more detail as warranted in the Pedigree section. This allows us to keep the focus on the featured horse and get to their racing career more quickly. Jlvsclrk (talk) 18:32, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Blablubbs

I removed some parts of the article, because there are not reliable sources. In fact Azerbaijanis replaced every single armenian villages names into turkish ones. This misinformation is at a state level as the current azerbaijani president removes absolutely everything that is linked to Armenia and tries to erase everything that belongs to armenian. The azerbaijani wikipedia is full of misinformations and spread this disinformation to others foreign wikipedia pages. There are reliable sources about what I am saying. Thank you for your understanding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supétudiant (talkcontribs) 12:05, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Supétudiant, thank you for your message and your efforts to help improve Wikipedia. The problem with the edits I reverted was that you didn't just remove unsourced content, but you also removed references to sources without providing a (very!) good explanation, which is required in such cases. Please stop doing so immediately'. Which village names are or aren't appropriate or real isn't for me to judge, but not removing references without good reason is a plain and simple policy violation. And just as a general reminder, I want to say that Wikipedia isn't a suitable place for litigating disputes about nationhood. It may also be prudent to reply to Macrakis' recent message on your talk page; seeking consensus and communicating with other editors – especially when your edits are challenged – is a central pillar of what makes this Encyclopaedia work. Thank you for understanding. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 12:23, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for quickly answering me. Sorry if I remove the sources. It was not my intention. Every single villages names of Armenia are changed into turkish-azerbaijani which is misinformation. Some articles are referred to azeri sources, which are not correct. As there is an ongoing war between the two nations, there is also unfortunately a war of misinformation by Azerbaijan and azerbaijani president. Thank you for your understanding. I will reply to Macrakis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supétudiant (talkcontribs) 12:40, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry If I removed sources. You can put back. Sincerly, Supétudiant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supétudiant (talkcontribs) 13:07, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Blablubbs, I removed this phrase on the article of Alaverdi because there is no source which supports this sentence. In fact, when I want to read the source it becomes "404 error" so I cannot check this information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supétudiant (talkcontribs) 13:57, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Supétudiant: My revert was because of WP:LR, which I also in my edit summary; the policy states that "In general, do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer.". Please don't remove links just because they 404. Thank you. — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 14:06, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Message by SK

Hi, I've never edited before but I was hoping to add all of the new developments with Pinker's social media account that got a lot of attention yesterday. I'm just not sure how to source that. I'm a fellow cognitive linguist and can provide links to the tweets I still have access to (none from today as he blocked almost the entire field from his Twitter). I also have the links to the websites he's been posting about that I'd mentioned. Please let me know if you're able to assist me on this, as my colleagues have been curious why no one outside the fields of linguistics, neuroscience, or philosophy seem to be aware of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 23:25, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I'm afraid twitter won't cut it as a source here, considering Wikipedia's strict rules for writing biographies of living people. We generally only write what has already been reported in reliable sources (cf. WP:OR) so any additions to the article will have to wait until this receives outside coverage – if the matter has already been covered in reliable sources, you are welcome to re-add it with a citation to one. Thank you for understanding and best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 23:34, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, forgive my ignorance on this site but the quote I cited from twitter was also cited in full just the paragraph before. Is that not acceptable? Also, how would I go about citing his public, known actions (still available on his twitter page) without citing where they are? Lastly, how would one go about citing his massive change in behavior on social media? I understand that Twitter isn't a reliable source for, say, a news story, but I'm citing Twitter specifically because that is where his quotes and references are located. Obviously people's social media behavior is mentioned on their pages when relevant or significant. Can you direct me as to how to go about doing that?
Oh I found a Vice article referencing it but obviously they, in turn, are citing directly from Twitter. Will that work? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 23:41, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A Vice article might work, depending on the specific article and the claim it's backing up. And to reply to your earlier message: The thing with citing twitter in this context is that it's a primary source that the editor citing it will draw personal conclusions from. While those might very well be true, they are hard to verify and easy to dispute – which conflicts with Wikipedia's role as a tertiary resource that relies on news coverage and scholarship for its information (see WP:V, WP:NOTTRUTH). If you're unsure, you may also want to propose the change on the article's talk page first and wait for other editors more familiar with the subject than me to provide their input. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 23:50, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All right, I used Washington Post, Harvard, and Vice; the only citation from a non-news source is the link to the photographs referenced in those articles but hosted on imgur. Does that look okay? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 00:08, 29 August 2020 (UTC) Just noticed a typo but can't edit it again; the photo he acknowledges is from 2014, not 2004 (the next one is 2004) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 00:18, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dude what the hell, that was perfectly cited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 00:26, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

71.117.175.206 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), please see Talk:Steven Pinker. You are welcome to add your comments to the ongoing discussion on mentioning the twitter blocks in the article. Schazjmd (talk) 00:28, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to point out that it wasn't me who undid that revision. Note that your contributions have been preserved in the page history and can be re-added, entirely or selectively, pending the outcome of the discussion on the article's talk page. I understand our processes can be frustrating, but please understand that we're all trying to improve Wikipedia and are trying to follow established policy. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 00:34, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay thanks so do I just copy and paste it again? There's nothing wrong with it? I'm not putting it on the discussion page when it's factual, sourced information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.175.206 (talk) 00:36, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DrJCarignan (talkcontribs) 00:44, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been protected by an administrator, so it won't be possible for new and unregistered users to modify it right now. Please seek consensus about the noteworthiness of the material with the other involved editors on the talk page first; I'm certain Schazjmd and others will be happy to discuss potentially reinstating your edit – or parts of it – there. You may also want to note that my original revert of your addition was part of my volunteer work as a recent changes patroller here; my knowledge of this matter is fairly limited, so discussing this with editors who have more insight into the matter will almost certainly be a better option. Thank you for understanding. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 00:49, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RevDel - IEC 60204

Hi there,

Thanks for pointing out the copyright breach - you were right, of course, so I've done it.

Not sure if you added it manually or if it was the revdel request add-on being a little buggy as I've seen before, but the revision ID given wasn't right - it was actually the one after you'd fixed it, as opposed to one of the problematic ones.

Just thought I'd point it out in case a reviewing admin thinks you're raising an incorrect request in the future.

Feeling of political bias

While I am not disputing the content of what was deleted, as it was about the criticism of Meenakshi Jain by Martha Nussbaum which is fine as it is the opinion of the latter. Since the criticsm aspect of the person covered half of the page, I felt that the page looked biased in a certain political inclination. Considering the same is not true of the page of Martha Nussbaum where there is hardly any criticism of her work mentioned. And it is not just applicable to Martha but other historians or sociologist of her political inclination. And add to that Meenakshi is a respected political scientist in India and should have a more dignified profile in wikipedia. The implicit bias that wikipedia has, has been a subject of interest in india recently. Wikipedia's co-founder Mr Larry Sagner has been saying this of wikipedia for a while that there seems to be some implicit bias in the editing of pages. Not that the information is wrong but what information is put on the page seems to be subjective rather than objective. I just deleted it because momentarily I got disgusted by the bias, which for a layman or a casual reader would be hard to spot. Which would give that person a certain view of this person which isn't objective at all. But the disgust was only temporary so I don't really care if you want to restore the page to what it is. I just hope one day Wikipedia would become true to its aim of providing objective information. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathabar Singh (talkcontribs) 13:32, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for your message Mathabar Singh. In a way, you are of course correct that the information you deleted is subjective; but it's the subjective, scholarly opinion of a notable scientist and it is properly attributed as such. The page also includes differing views by other scholars who view the matter differently than Nussbaum. If this is a concern about due and undue weight, you may want to address it on the article's talk page or try to add differing views by other reputable scholars – but blanking out an entire section with a single-word edit summary ("biased") is not a good way to go about this because it subverts the deliberative process that the Wikipedia community tries to follow when working on articles. Finally, I want to note that this is not the right venue to address the grievances that you and/or Larry Sanger have with Wikipedia as a whole; feel free to take them to an appropriate discussion board, though. Thank you for understanding. — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 14:09, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New York Lightfoot

Recently you reverted changes I made to the Wiki on the New York Light Foot Militia, where I had updated it with more current information, such as the fact that George Curbelo is no longer the leader of the NYLFM. I also changed the activities of the group to be more generally stated than historically stated. IE: updating readers with relevant information on the groups training activities and removing the historical activities mostly covered already in media stories and articles.

These updates are not vandalism!!! I want to put out accurate information about the group, as evidenced by sources linked such as the light foot Militia Standards and principles, a document that details the light foots mission, ethics and purpose as well as types of training. Hello, and thank you for your message. In their present form, the edits you are trying to make conflict with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Our content generally sticks to what reliable sources (such as newspapers or scholarly publications) report about a subject; use of self-published sources (such as your organisation's website) is strongly discouraged -- as is removing sourced content without a good explanation. If reliable sources mainly cover the historical activities of your organisation, that is what the article's focus should be. Furthermore, you have a conflict of interest as a member of the group, which can lead to problems with retaining the neutral point of view that Wikipedia strives to achieve in its articles. If you have concerns about the factual accuracy of the article, you should provide reliable sources in support of your argument on the article's talk page and request changes there. Thank you for understanding. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 22:48, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any way you can help us out then? The About section is factually inaccurate and has been for a couple of years now. The leadership of the group can change year to year. Take that from me, I'm a primary source for that information. That is why I changed it in the manner that I did.
As for the activities section. I am the one who originally put that information up. I understand your point of view in not removing it. I'd still like to update the activities section with my edits, but I am in no way adverse to leaving the historically activities with sourced news articles alone. Could we move this conversation to the wikidiscord? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:6000:1103:C79C:C858:1758:9302:E4E6 (talk) 22:57, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We can move this conversation to discord if you like. If you can provide a source for the leadership change or present leadership, it's likely that this can get changed as well. However, I'm afraid personal experience – no matter how accurate – won't cut it here (see WP:OR). Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 23:03, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blablubbs, thanks for catching the copyvios. I had tagged Draft:Miss Iman M Al-Qubtan for G11 but have now amended it as they copied the Amazon profile. I did not even think to look for that. S0091 (talk) 22:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

S0091, always happy to help. I've found that a fair share of COI drafts are also copyvios – if you don't know about it already, you may be interested in this tool, which I find extremely helpful for spotting them. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 22:59, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Boxing-Wrong Professional Record put for the Wrong Boxer

Hello Blablubbs. You might have noticed that I deleted a section in your edited page of Ivan Calderon. The reason why I did that is that I believe you made a mistake and placed Canelo Alvarez's professional record in Ivan Calderon's Wikepedia page. As a result, I deleted the section about Canelo Alvarez in that page as that information is referring to the wrong boxer. Next time, I will notify you first if you made a mistake.

Hi, thanks for explaining. There's no need to notify me before removing content; I only came across your edit while patrolling the recent changes feed. What would be great is if you could explain your reasoning in the edit summary field whenever you modify an article. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia, and happy editing! Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 10:31, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Umbrella Academy

Hi, you reverted a change I made to The Umbrella Academy. I deleted this quote and reference since it was misattributed, with the correct quote and reference directly above. I have deleted it again, this time stating my reason in the summary including a link to the article that was deleted, if you feel the need to put in a quote that was actually from that article. 87.214.242.116 (talk) 17:27, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for providing an explanation – I might have been a little too quick to undo there. It's usually good practice to always leave an edit summary, especially when removing content that appears to be sourced. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 17:49, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I understand that with deletions without reasoning, which is why I was annoyed when someone else came along and called my second edit vandalism. Luckily another user saw it and reverted the revert. I am the person above, only logged in. FoggyMcFogFace (talk) 17:57, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
FoggyMcFogFace, thanks for taking this so well. Welcome to Wikipedia – I hope you decide to stick around! Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 18:03, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removing others edits

How about making sure there is no source cited prior to removing edits made by other contributors. The edits I made to the Sam Hyde article already had a source cited. I only elaborated on what was actually written in the article linked as citation for the article and therefore did not need to add any source citation. The way the article was written was intentionally misleading and needed to be clarified. Please do your due diligence in making changes to edits. JWBallz (talk) 17:46, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JWBallz, (talk page stalker) sorry where does the source say "satirically" exactly? Glen (talk) 17:55, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The source doesn't say satirically directly. Its contextual. The fact that he is making a joke about how he makes more money that Matt Pearce should be sufficient to show that his intentions were to display satire. Seems that you are the talk page stalker. I have only responded to others. JWBallz (talk) 18:06, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
JWBallz, another (talk page watcher) – the details you're adding are already in the body of the article, they're out of place in the lead and Blablubbs was correct to revert because you also removed other information (and refs) from the lead with your edit. Schazjmd (talk) 18:08, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the way it is currently written is very misleading. Sam Hyde is known for his pranks and hoaxes. Pointing that out in the article is relevant to the article. The information I removed from the article is due to the lack of citation to support what is said in the article. There is nothing in the cited article to support that Sam Hyde is associated with Alt-right or white supremacists. Therefore it was removed. JWBallz (talk) 18:18, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But Million Dollar Extreme, which premiered in August, is also from the mind of Sam Hyde, an unapologetic member of the alt-right. Hyde crafts his comedy with the goal of shocking his young, liberal, Millennial audience while simultaneously appealing to like-minded members of a white-nationalist movement that generally supports Donald Trump.. That's in the first paragraph of the source you removed in your recent edit. And on a different note: Yes, Glen is the stalker, that's what the template means. You can find more about that by reading the page it links to – while you're at it, you may also want to read this essay. Thanks, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 18:24, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Thankyou for getting back. I have a couple of problems. I created a new page for the latest Hwyl Nofio album called Isolate. First I added Isolate to the main Hwyl Nofio Discography secton - then I created the Isolate (album) page. Problem - the Isolate (album) link is indirect and I would like help to create a direct link. There is also an additional problem with the link from the Isolate (album) - section box, previous album From Elevated Gangways Rivers of Molen Metal Flow (album). The link again is indirect and needs correcting. I would welcome your help with this matter. Thank you (Fangfest (talk) 09:40, 22 September 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Fangfest, you should not be creating new pages by modifying existing redirects. Please create new pages instead. At this point, the page you created is not sufficiently sourced to remain published, so I have moved it to Draft:Isolate (Hwyl Nofio album). I suggest you keep working on it there and then submit it for review through the Articles for creation process. Thanks.
Thank you for your time and help. I will continue to work on the Draft:Isolate article. When you say not sufficiently sourced - I have provided links to Discogs and I include a review of the album. What extra information would be useful for the article to remain published? Thank you (Fangfest (talk) 14:40, 22 September 2020 (UTC))[reply]
Sure thing, Fangfest. You can find the notability criteria for albums at WP:NALBUM. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 14:45, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A message from C CWy52

List of materials properties page.

Bear with me this is the first time I have got into wikipedia as opposed to just using it. I am a teaching professor (lecturer in the UK) and Ive just picked up a first year module in this subject. I want to introduce the idea of mechanical material properties to my students but imho the list really has too much content. eg you only need ductility not brittleness. A ductile material is not brittle. Some of the properties seem a bit odd as well - what is specific weight - surely density is more important.

Anyway - I dont want to edit it only for my work to be undone so is it possible to discuss this with anyone in the wiki world?

Best wishes

Chris--C CWy52 (talk) 11:37, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

C CWy52, Hi Chris, sorry for the late reply. My reversion of your edits was part of my recent changes patrol work and happened mainly because you blanked out large chunks of content without explaining why, which made it very hard to tell what your intentions are, since many people who are acting in bad faith engage in unexplained content removal as well. I highly recommend you start using edit summaries. Regarding the topic at hand: As it stands, it seems that the list in question tries to detail all materials properties (or at least those we have articles on); as someone fairly unfamiliar with the topic area, I don't feel qualified to make a judgement call on whether it is overly expansive or not, but I would suggest voicing your concern on the articles talk page to gather input from people who are more qualified than I am. I hope this helps; sorry for the inconvenience and best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 12:13, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removing My John N Mitchell edits

Why must I explain my actions in removing obviously biased information from John N. Mitchell's wikipedia page. Who the hell are you to reinstate my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamdud22 (talkcontribs) 19:44, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jamdud22, I'm someone who uses edit summaries for their changes, especially when removing material. I'm also someone who doesn't leave aggressive talk page messages when my edits get reverted and who isn't here to delete sourced material without an explanation or attempt to improve it just because it doesn't conform to my political opinions. Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 20:04, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Blablubbs,You're obviously someone, like most of the editors on Wikipedia, that has a strong liberal bias. That article is in no way legit and I will contact Wikipedia to dispute it. Not best, Jamdud22

Afd should be speedy?

Hi Blablubbs. I see you reinstated a removed Afd template from Wilbur Soot. Thank you!

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wilbur_Soot&type=revision&diff=980335773&oldid=980335572

The page previously had a Speedy delete tag, that was removed by the original author, and that removal hasn't been reverted.

From what I can see, the page should have a speedy delete tag. What do you think?

peterl (talk) 07:25, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Peterl, happy to help. The previous speedy tag was for copyright violations, but the source material seems to be from Fandom and is compatibly licensed (though attribution is needed); so I think that probably won't be enough for a G12 speedy. Or did you have a different speedy deletion criterion in mind? Best, — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 09:40, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I hadn't seen that compatible licence. Looks like it's moot, though, as the deletion discussion seems quite clear. Thanks again. peterl (talk) 21:58, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. That user has removed the AfD tag (again). [3] I have restored it, and put a notice on their talk page. Is there something else that should be done (I'm not sure of the process). Thanks. peterl (talk) 02:37, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Peterl, you did everything correctly, although I might have escalated the warning to {{uw-afd4}}. Given the repeated removals, I would suggest taking this to ANI if the behaviour persists. Also, quick courtesy ping to 331dot who left a final warning on their talk page a few days ago. — Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 10:40, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have partial blocked from editing the article with the deletion discussion notice. 331dot (talk) 10:56, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Armenia/Azerbaijan discretionary sanctions

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
