Rangers Picture?
Anybody else think its odd that the picture is of Lafontaine in a Rangers jersey? He was on the Rangers for a year, and spent the prime of his career on the Islanders and to a lesser degree, the Sabres. Suggest changing the pic to him on the Isles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.241.225.42 (talk) 02:55, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
- I was just about to say this. I will look at WikiCommons to see if they have others. --JAMillerKC (talk) 17:17, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
Captains List (the succession box)
I've edited the box, to show that LaFonatine tenure as captain was 1992–97, and noted that Mogilny served as captain, for most of the 1993–94 season (due to LaFontaine injury). I wasn't sure, how to put Mogilny into the succession box, without splintering LaFontaine's tenure. Can anyone else improve on this (succession box)? GoodDay 18:33, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
Verifiable and proper
The passages regarding Pat LaFontaine and his heart and charitable work are completely verifiable through many, many different sources. This entry exactly represents Pat LaFontaine and his career, and I have absolutely no problems with the way it is presented. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Monsieurdl (talk • contribs) 17:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC).
I disagree with the December 2007 assessment that this Wiki Article is inappropriate in Tone. It is highly appropriate for Hockey. If "someone" does not feel its tone is appropriate, that $2 looser should focus on sports that are more appropriate for the worthless and week like themselves. Perhaps, they should try Badminton.
Demand to be traded from Buffalo after concussion?
"He was determined to return, even though the doctors advised against such an attempt. Sabres management, in conjunction with team doctors and specialists, refused to clear LaFontaine to return, and recommended he retire. LaFontaine, still believing he could play, demanded a trade, which the Sabres obliged"
Does anyone have a source for where Lafontaine "demanded" to be traded after his concussion? The Sabres Alumni association even says it was a "cost cutting" measure at http://www.sabresalumni.com/playerprofile.php?playerid=10219. Surely, if he demanded to be traded, wouldn't this have been noted somewhere, a la Dominik Hasek asking to be traded at the conclusion of the 2001 season? Thanks! Fiset35 (talk) 13:54, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
edit: I removed the line about "demanding to be traded" and replaced and cited it with "cost cutting measure" as noted by the Sabres Alumni Association. Thanks! Fiset35 (talk) 03:49, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
