Well, hello there!

Glad you could pop by. I'm Redvers, one of a growing band of people helping make the internet that little bit better by building a free, collaborative encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

I'm interested mainly in British television and radio, but also know something about the Great War, World War Two and contemporary history in the post-war period. My Wikipedia time is mostly spent reading the content (there are hundreds of thousands of pages here, all fascinating) but also contributing and doing the odd bit of tiding up and anti-vandalism... both becoming something of a sad hobby in and of themselves.

I'm a Welshman who is to be found dividing my time between North Yorkshire, Merseyside and the beautiful Ieper in Belgium.

I'm also a practicing homosexual - after all, practice makes perfect! I'm hoping one day to win an award for my contributions and dedicated practical research in this particular area.

Want to drop me a line? Talk to me here. Want to see what I've being doing here recently? Or maybe you'd like to send me an email? Failing that, you could just play in my Sandbox.

Do you use Firefox? Then you might like my cheap Wikibar idea.

An award

I award this Barnstar of Diligence to Redvers for the amazingly detailed and organised Lew List.

Some images of mine from Commons

The 1984-style architecture of the KBC Bank in Antwerp - terrifying but beautiful.
The fountain in the centre of Ieper - I can sit here for hours.
ABC, your weekend TV in the north.

Clean-ups and major expansions

The good, the bad and the ugly can benefit from a clean-up. These are a small selection of the articles I've cleaned-up, expanded or generally turned around: most of them originally found by clicking the Random article option. Anything I can't clean up goes off to AfD - if an article is so bad it can't be cleaned and the references are so poor it can't be re-researched, then why is it here in the first place?

Charlie Parrot. Pictured not eating, sleeping or biting my fingers, thus making this picture unique.
I like making maps.
Sad, but endlessly fascinating - some of the boys in one of the hundreds of Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetaries in Flanders.
The VRT/RTBF communications tower in Brussels. Sixties architecture - brutal functionalism.

Maastricht is a lovely Dutch town to go shopping in... but very cold in the winter!

You were one, you knew you were one

And you slid right through my fingers

No, not literally, but metaphorically

And now you’re all I see, as the light fades...
