Tagging pages for deletion

Hello, Wgullyn,

Any time you tag a page for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/CFD/TFD/etc.), you must post a notice on the talk page of the page creator informing them that a page they created has been tagged for deletion. You did not do this with Jeugdbondsuitgeverij. This isn't that surprising because you are a very new editor and I'm surprised you are already tagging pages for deletion. Please be very careful with this. It is difficult to create a good article so there must be good grounds for deleting one.

I recommend you use WP:TWINKLE because once you have set up your Preferences to "Notify page creator if possible", the program will post these notices for you. If you have any questions, I encourage you to visit the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:29, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I'll do that in the future. Wgullyn (talk) 01:04, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On 9 April 2021, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Phillip Adams (American football), which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. Black Kite (talk) 11:11, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

April 2021

Hello, I'm Tommi1986. I noticed that in this edit to NEXT for AUTISM, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tommi1986 let's talk! 11:39, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:04, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi Wgullyn. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 00:53, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Wgullyn (talk) 01:29, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not sure who I’m talking to but I am assuming Wgullyn is included in the discussion. This person arbitrarily deleted edits I made out of honour and respect for a friend who had passed. I posted my own content produced as a well-known researcher and climate scientist that honoured that sadly passed Gettelman’s work. It doesn’t seem to me that Wgullyn should have that latitude. Clean up

Just cleaning up some of these pages, sincerly apologize. Incredible93 (talk) 19:02, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thank you for letting me know. I'll remove the warnings from your page; please remember in the future to explain content removal - it looks very much like vandalism if it isn't explained. Wgullyn (talk) 19:04, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is it okay if i revert some of these better edits back with an explanation Incredible93 (talk) 19:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's fine. Wgullyn (talk) 19:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AIV report removed

Can you please explain why you remove my report for Alexyourstepbro? I noticed your edit summary, but this user didn't provide explanation. He was vandalizing a page. Can we communicate about this? Thanks. Severestorm28 19:36, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry about that! I meant to just delete the one I had added but I must have selected both lines. Wgullyn (talk) 19:38, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm XRENEGADEx. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to List of insurance companies in India have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Hello! I noticed when you reverted User:2402:8100:206A:2CE3:8DF9:43FF:5688:F622, you removed some of their constructive edits as well. Please be careful when using Huggle, as it can remove good edits unintentionally. xRENEGADEx (talk | contribs) 17:22, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know! I didn't realize they had made the constructive edits. Wgullyn (talk) 17:24, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it was my mistake >.< it was constructive, but as Kuru pointed out, it was a copyvio so he removed + deleted it. You can remove the notice if you feel like it! Again, apologies for the mistaken notice. xRENEGADEx (talk | contribs) 18:11, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wgullyn, you've only edited 3 articles, so do you have enough experience to say my edits are unconstructive?

Wgullyn, you've only edited 3 articles on your talk, so do you have enough experience to say my edits are unconstructive? Parilla1954 (talk) 15:19, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited a lot more than 3 articles. If you would like to explain why you think your edits were constructive, please do so. Wgullyn (talk) 15:23, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Parilla1954: You have only edited 2 articles, so I'm not sure how you can say that to another user -- unless you've edited before?Czello 15:26, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Basildon, to update David Amess was murdered in Southend 2021. Are you editing, or critical? Are you in bed with Czello? Maybe a sock puppy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parilla1954 (talkcontribs) 15:40, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit summary for the edit I reverted made it seem like vandalism. Please don't get aggressive or make accusations. Wgullyn (talk) 15:48, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think these two are the same person, FYI. 747pilot (talk) 20:16, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I figured that. I think they've both been blocked now. Wgullyn (talk) 20:17, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

About a recent warning you gave me

You claimed my edit was unconstructive, yet you seem to know little about the topic of Quebec politics. The 2022 referendum on electoral reform has been canceled. It will not happen. It is not relevant to the 2022 Quebec general election. As such, it needs to be removed from the page. Would you please remove my warning and reinstate my edits. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.176.154.79 (talk) 21:33, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of deleting the section outright, you should create a new section on the talk page and create a consensus before removing the section. Wgullyn (talk) 21:48, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gary B.

I’m not familiar with the system so I’m not sure what’s happening. Why would you remove the link to the video we produced in cooperation with Gary? It’s a very beautiful tribute to him, and after his passing, is a great tribute to his wonderful life’s work. 2604:3D09:2083:1300:6906:47B:D393:855D (talk) 00:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you're talking about User:Byrnejames's edit? I reverted that because Vimeo is not a reliable source for Wikipedia (content on that site is often copyright infringement). Wgullyn (talk) 00:16, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please point to the ruling within Wikipedia guidelines or any other information that says Vimeo videos cannot be included. Byrnejames (talk) 00:21, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, the content on my Vimeo is mine so I am free to share it and you shouldn’t be censoring my sharing’s of my IP. Byrnejames (talk) 00:23, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vimeo is well known for hosting copyrighted content. See Wikipedia's link guidelines for more information. Plus, if the content is your own, you should not be promoting it on Wikipedia. Wgullyn (talk) 00:27, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove my edit

I made and edit on video game streaming services that was 100% constructive criticism and it mentioned nothing but truth Plsubnanprog (talk) 02:48, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You shouldn't be putting your personal opinion of companies on Wikipedia. If you continue to vandalize, you will be blocked from editing. Wgullyn (talk) 02:49, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It was not a personal opinion it was the truth Plsubnanprog (talk) 02:52, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
