Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
![]() | If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Khorgas (currently a redirect to Khorgos) → Korgas (currently a redirect instead to Khorgos) (move · discuss) – Per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:OFFICIAL. See Google Ngrams or perform Google searches for similar results. Yue🌙 04:13, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Standseilbahn Linth–Limmern (currently a redirect to Standseilbahn Linth-Limmern) → Standseilbahn Linth-Limmern (move · discuss) – undiscussed move, unclear if en-dash applies, article was just reviewed for DYK, advised mover Enhancing999 (talk) 12:57, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Luke Turner (footballer) → Luke Turner (move · discuss) – Current non-disambiguated page for "Luke Turner" is a redirect to an artistic trio called "LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner" headlined by Shia LaBeouf but including an artist named "Luke Turner". As far as I can see, LaBeouf was and is the main draw to the page, generating most of the view count. Now, a person named "Luke Turner" has a page and should have the non-disambiguated name page for 'Luke Turner'. A hat note can be added on that page directing to the trio. - WP:PT doesn't work like that. Newspaper hits seem to point to the other Turner. A TWODABS might be worthwhile In ictu oculi (talk) 19:52, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

- Allahabad Chheoki Junction railway station (currently a redirect to Prayagraj Chheoki Junction railway station) → Prayagraj Chheoki railway station (currently a redirect instead to Prayagraj Chheoki Junction railway station) (move · discuss) – The address name is now unified as Prayagraj and should be moved to common name like other related station names Eupakistani (talk) 10:10, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- This appears to have already been handled at a separate move request. I cannot ascertain whether consensus has changed regarding the matter, and so would encourage you to bring a full requested move to establish consensus. EggRoll97 (talk) 19:25, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- List of governors of Florida → Governor of Florida (currently a redirect back to List of governors of Florida) (move · discuss) – Other states have this title for their governors. Interstellarity (talk) 23:17, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Other states appear to have a separate page for the list of governors from the actual political office. It's most likely that an actual article for the political office of governor would be created at Governor of Florida, rather than moved from the list of previous governors. EggRoll97 (talk) 01:52, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Draft:Dance with the Devil (Immortal Technique song) (currently a redirect to Dance with the Devil (Immortal Technique song)) → Dance with the Devil (Immortal Technique song) (move · discuss) – Draft is ready to be an article and has now been provided with enough reliable sources to establish notability MC-123 (talk) 01:00, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- @MC-123: This has been removed twice via AFD. You can not use RM/TR to undo a decision made at AFD. You will have to go to WP:DELREV to make a case that the redirect should be removed. - UtherSRG (talk) 10:55, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Another option might be to go through the WP:AFC process. -Kj cheetham (talk) 11:59, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that's a viable route since it was already deleted. AFC is generally for new articles to ensure they can survive if challenged at AFD. Since AFD has now twice said this topic is not notable, it should fail an AFC review. DELREV is where new proof of notability can be used to reverse the AFD decision. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:08, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

- Arc Health is invalid. Must create Arc Health before requesting that it be moved to Medicspot.– incorrect title and target title article already in use but redirected to the incorrectly named article Robfarrowuk (talk) 06:26, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- See also the financial disclosure at the nominator's user page. He works for someone called MedicSpotLimited, so perhaps that is the correct current name of the company. If so, the text of the article needs to be substantially rewritten because previously, "Medicspot" was a product sold by the company called Arc Health. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 19:52, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- I agree this needs to be rewritten, but I've been advised I shouldn't do this as I work for the organisation concerned? Arc Health was a piece of remote consultation kit (software and hardware) developed by Medicspot to enable GP's to provide remote care in care homes during the pandemic. So Arc Health was a product/service offered by Medicspot. To me it makes most sense that this page is somehow merged or redirected to the Medicspot page (currently the opposite is true - the Medicspot page redirects to this Arc Health page). This would also help disambiguate with Arc Health in California. Robfarrowuk (talk) 13:42, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Comment. This article was created by a single, and now blocked, user. Dr. Vogel (talk) 20:27, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Robfarrowuk, please could you clarify why this is incorrect? Also bare in mind WP:COMMONNAME is more important than an official name. -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:47, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

- Dance of the Vampires (musical) → Tanz der Vampire (currently a redirect back to Dance of the Vampires (musical)) (move · discuss) – Swap the two pages (WP:SWAP): Tanz der Vampire is the WP:COMMONNAME for the successful worldwide musical, the english "Dance of the Vampires" production failed and is not renown Raladic (talk) 17:38, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'd like to see some more evidence of common usage here, than just the assertion that the German title is the more common. Given that the musical was released in English under an English name, and this article covers both the international run and that, I'd expect that to be the default title, even if it is the opinion that "production failed and is not renown"... — Amakuru (talk) 11:02, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
