Happy editing! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:44, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Littlexiaogui,

at Talk:Pastilla, I saw a ping. Looking at the situation, I see a new account sending a huge wall of text to accuse an experienced editor of "POV-pushing" on the talk page of an article semi-protected because of sockpuppetry.

You may be looking for the dispute resolution policy which is full of advice.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:45, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ToBeFree Alright, I'll read the dispute resolution policy.
Best regards. Littlexiaogui (talk) 18:39, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm M.Bitton. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Merguez have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. M.Bitton (talk) 18:55, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • What you did to the Merguez article is unacceptable. I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I'm talking about, so I won't elaborate, though I will insist that you refrain from doing it again (be it to that article or a similar one). M.Bitton (talk) 19:02, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    @M.Bitton
    You cannot undo my modifications because the sources that I added clearly specify that Moroccan and Tunisian migrants have also opened restaurants in France and they introduced Merguez to the French, so if you continue to delete my edits, I will report your Pov-pushing.
    And this isn't the first time you've done Pov-pushing, I have a lot to tell the admins about your behavior.
    Best regards. Littlexiaogui (talk) 19:18, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    You go ahead and report me to the admins. In the meantime, I will revert your unacceptable changes that disregard the properly sourced content and clearly push a nationalist POV. M.Bitton (talk) 19:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Merguez. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 19:24, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone

When the victim is treated as guilty...

First

The user @M.Bitton tried to trick me into making a mistake by constantly removing my contributions and deleting my sources and evidence that I included in the Merguez article, he tried to push me into making a mistake by trying to push me into an editing war : but he did not succeed in pushing me to participate in an editing war because I ignored him, in fact, having understood that this was what he was looking for to get me to make a mistake, I stopped and I didn't engage in an edit war !

Indeed, "An edit war occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly override each other's contributions" ; This didn't happen in this case because I didn't "repeatedly override" his annulation of my contribution ; It only happened once ! So I didn't get into an editing war !

So he accused me of waging an edit war in the Merguez article and that's not true (you can check here).

Indeed, having understood that he would not stop; I stopped and turned off my computer at 7:20 p.m. (19h20) because I live in France; It was time to eat and go to sleep.

Second

He accused me of Pov-pushing on the same article (The Merguez article) and it's not true !

My contribution was limited to including sources and evidence that Moroccans and Tunisians (along with the pied-noirs and Algerians) also contributed to introducing and spreading Merguez in France.

I added to the Merguez article these two sources which perfectly describe this phenomenon ;

English translation : "Furthermore, the North Africans are working, in France, through their diplomats, to disseminate their artistic activities (dance, music, painting, drawing and calligraphy, crafts of all categories, even sewing, etc.). The return of the pieds-noirs, travel across the Mediterranean and the presence of North Africans in France also aroused a certain taste for Maghreb cuisine, with couscous which best symbolizes it and merguez. Thanks to cuisine, French culture is transforming and opening up to foreigners: we can no longer count the number of restaurants in Paris and the provinces that specialize in this cuisine..." : source.

This source clearly specifies that the presence of North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians and not only Algerians), in addition to the pieds-noirs, contributed to the spread of Merguez in France and in French cuisine because the North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians) have opened restaurants in France.

2-Concerning the second source, I did not need to add it because it is already present in the article (source) :

English translation ; "On Boulevard de Belleville and especially in the small neighboring streets, food stores and restaurants sell Tunisian specialties. In Moorish cafes, Jews and Arabs play cards. When the weather permits, residents stroll along the boulevard, chat lively or sit on the café terraces. They thus transplanted a district of Tunis into this old Parisian faubourg. It is the same in the traditional Jewish district of Paris, St-Paul, where Eastern European Jews have disappeared : many food stores have changed ownership : merguez and couscous tend to replace Buckling (hareng saur). Here again, there are numerous Tunisians and Moroccans..."

There are other sources that exist but which I did not consider legitimate to include because I thought the first two sources were sufficient ;

3- eng : "Merguez is found all over North Africa (and in France, owing to immigration from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia)." ; source.

4- eng : "I remember when Jean-francis first introduced me to North Africain merguez sausage in Marseille. With a large Moroccan and Algerian population in the South of France, the French have incorporated some of their culinary specialities into their own cuisine." : source.

5- eng : "Merguez sausages, brought to France by Arab immigrants (North Africans), are now popular all over the country. They are made with lamb, or sometimes beef, from a halal (Islamic) butcher and flavored with harissa..." ; source.

All these sources prove that the spread of Merguez in France was thanks to the North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians) and not only thanks to the Algerians as the user @M.Bitton claims.

So pretending I'm dishonest is intolerable !

And claiming that i do pov-pushing it's such a shame...and being blocked for something i didn't do its truly hurting.

I really wish I could have an open heart and think that user @M.Bitton is honest, but that's not the case ; this isn't the first time he's accused users of pov-pushing when he's the one doing the pov-pushing !

And this is not the first time that he behaves badly and behaves dishonestly and imposes his points of view even when the sources contradict him ; He committed pov-pushing on the discussion of the Pastilla article where he refused to consider all my sources and evidence...this is pov-pushing !

Do you remember @ToBeFree ; a few days ago, I contacted you so that you asked the user @M.Bitton to stop his Pov-pushing in the discussion of the article "Pastilla" because I had provided a huge list of sources and evidence which @M.Bitton decided to ignore. You remember ? You advised me to read the article "dispute resolution policy" to find a solution.

The discussion is still present on the Pastilla article discussion and on my user page.

User @M.Bitton blocks users from contributing and pollutes discussions.

He seems to be obsessed with "Algeria" and categorically refuses all sources that are contrary to his point of view.

My blocking makes no sense and is completely unfair.

So I would like to be unblocked as quickly as possible because blocking me for nothing goes against Wikipedia policy; we don't block a user for nothing...

Also, I am a beginner, I do my best to contribute calmly and with kindness.

I take this opportunity to ask that the user @M.Bitton be punished for spreading hatred towards me, and for lying, as well as for accusing me of pov-pushing when it is not true.

I am requesting that he be blocked for his bad behavior because his behavior has negatively affected me. Also, his bad behavior affected other users on Wikipedia; You just have to read the discussions of the various Maghreb articles to realize that he imposes his point of view by constantly denigrating the sources of other users.

So his punishment must be exemplary.
