Happy editing! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:44, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Littlexiaogui,

at Talk:Pastilla, I saw a ping. Looking at the situation, I see a new account sending a huge wall of text to accuse an experienced editor of "POV-pushing" on the talk page of an article semi-protected because of sockpuppetry.

You may be looking for the dispute resolution policy which is full of advice.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:45, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ToBeFree Alright, I'll read the dispute resolution policy.
Best regards. Littlexiaogui (talk) 18:39, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm M.Bitton. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Merguez have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. M.Bitton (talk) 18:55, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • What you did to the Merguez article is unacceptable. I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I'm talking about, so I won't elaborate, though I will insist that you refrain from doing it again (be it to that article or a similar one). M.Bitton (talk) 19:02, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    @M.Bitton
    You cannot undo my modifications because the sources that I added clearly specify that Moroccan and Tunisian migrants have also opened restaurants in France and they introduced Merguez to the French, so if you continue to delete my edits, I will report your Pov-pushing.
    And this isn't the first time you've done Pov-pushing, I have a lot to tell the admins about your behavior.
    Best regards. Littlexiaogui (talk) 19:18, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    You go ahead and report me to the admins. In the meantime, I will revert your unacceptable changes that disregard the properly sourced content and clearly push a nationalist POV. M.Bitton (talk) 19:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Merguez. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 19:24, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your block request should only discuss your actions, and not those of others, see WP:NOTTHEM. I would also suggest that you make your next request much shorter- a paragraph or two placed within the unblock template at most. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:26, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone

First

I have been accused of participating in an editing war (Merguez article), which is not true ; indeed, as Wikipedia mentions ; "An edit war occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly override each other's contributions" ; This didn't happen in this case because I didn't "repeatedly override" his annulation of my contribution ; It only happened once ! So I didn't get into an editing war !"

Indeed, understanding that if I didn't stop, it would become an editing war, knowing this, I stopped immediately and I did not engage in an editing war because even as a beginner, I read the Wikipedia regulations and I want to respect the Wikipedia regulations ; this is why I stopped immediately and refused to participate in an editing war (check here).

Second

Also, I was accused of Pov-pushing on the same article (Merguez article) and it's not true !

My contribution was limited to including sources and evidence that Moroccans and Tunisians (along with the pied-noirs and Algerians) also contributed to introducing and spreading Merguez in France.

All these sources prove that the spread of Merguez in France was thanks to the North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians) and not only thanks to the Algerians ;

Check the sources here :

- eng : "Merguez is found all over North Africa (and in France, owing to immigration from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia)." ; source.

- eng : "I remember when Jean-francis first introduced me to North Africain merguez sausage in Marseille. With a large Moroccan and Algerian population in the South of France, the French have incorporated some of their culinary specialities into their own cuisine." : source.

- eng : "Merguez sausages, brought to France by Arab immigrants (North Africans), are now popular all over the country. They are made with lamb, or sometimes beef, from a halal (Islamic) butcher and flavored with harissa..." ; source.

I added to the Merguez article these two sources which perfectly describe this phenomenon ;

English translation : "Furthermore, the North Africans are working, in France, through their diplomats, to disseminate their artistic activities (dance, music, painting, drawing and calligraphy, crafts of all categories, even sewing, etc.). The return of the pieds-noirs, travel across the Mediterranean and the presence of North Africans in France also aroused a certain taste for Maghreb cuisine, with couscous which best symbolizes it and merguez. Thanks to cuisine, French culture is transforming and opening up to foreigners: we can no longer count the number of restaurants in Paris and the provinces that specialize in this cuisine..." :

This source clearly specifies that the presence of North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians and not only Algerians), in addition to the pieds-noirs, contributed to the spread of Merguez in France and in French cuisine because the North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians) have opened restaurants in France.

2- Concerning the second source, I did not need to add it because it is already present in the merguez article (source) ;

English translation ; "On Boulevard de Belleville and especially in the small neighboring streets, food stores and restaurants sell Tunisian specialties. In Moorish cafes, Jews and Arabs play cards. When the weather permits, residents stroll along the boulevard, chat lively or sit on the café terraces. They thus transplanted a district of Tunis into this old Parisian faubourg. It is the same in the traditional Jewish district of Paris, St-Paul, where Eastern European Jews have disappeared : many food stores have changed ownership : merguez and couscous tend to replace Buckling (hareng saur). Here again, there are numerous Tunisians and Moroccans..."

So claiming that i do Pov-pushing it's such a shame...and being blocked a crime I didn't commit is against Wikipedia's rules.

How to do ?[edit]

Hello @Deepfriedokra

I am contacting you because during my unblocking request you asked me to explain why my modifications deserved to be blocked; but there is an error; my modifications did not deserve to be blocked and that is precisely the mistake made by one of the contributors ; This blocking is an error and is contrary to Wikipedia's regulations because I was wrongly accused for acts that I did not commit and I explained this in my unblocking request. What more can I do ? and how can I explain or justify something I didn't do?

I've been accused of pov-pushing and it's not true; I prove it in my unblocking request: my sources were legitimate (check the sources in my unblocking request).

I've been accused of waging an editing war and that's not true; you can check it here.

My request must be taken into account and seriously studied by the administrators because you are making a mistake by ignoring my complaints.

What should I do in this case because I have already explained that I did nothing that deserved to be blocked, it was a mistake made by the user who blocked me. So you're asking me to justify something I didn't do? How it is possible ?

It is the user who blocked me who must apologize for not having first checked the facts before blocking me because it was a big mistake !

I invite you to check my unblocking request again, you will find all the necessary information.

I also notify @ToBeFree.

Best regards . Littlexiaogui (talk) 15:02, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the ping. As I have not performed the block, I hope it's okay if I skip this wall of text. You may like to request an unblock using the template you had used before. See also the guide to appealing blocks. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:48, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My college speed reading was 40ya, but I see this as more justification of the behavior that led to the block than assuring us the behavior won't recur.. Justification is not what is needed. Telling what you did and what you will do instead is. As I declined a request, I won't consider another. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:59, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Deepfriedokra and @ToBeFree
I think you have not understood my position, nor my request ; I was blocked for something I didn't do and I explained it in my unblocking request. So what should I do now ?
My unblocking request is not a justification for the behavior that led to the blocking because I explained that my contributions on Wikipedia have never been pov-pushing ; that never happened !
Because you're asking me to assure you that something I never did and never happened won't happen again which is unfair because it's something that never happened.
I ask you to carefully reread my unblocking request where I provide the necessary sources to contradict this pov-pushing for which I am falsely accused ; you will find all the necessary sources in my unblocking request and you will finally see that I was blocked on the basis of a false accusation or a misunderstanding.
You are administrators ; you are responsible for verifying that all blocks are justified and are not the product of a false accusation or misunderstanding.
I also notify @Ponyo
Best regards. Littlexiaogui (talk) 16:59, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are blocked from edit warring. Please concisely and clear describe what you should do instead of edit warring. Declaring the rightness of your edits is not suitable. I've declined already. If you can address the reason for your block, please make another unblock request. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:03, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Littlexiaogui, I'm a volunteer. I'm currently not "responsible for verifying" anything on this page here as I haven't made the block nor declined previous unblock requests. You may like to create an unblock request using the {{unblock}} template and someone will very likely review the block. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:23, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Ponyo, @Deepfriedokra, @331dot

I need a witness ; can you testify on my behalf ? I was blocked by a dishonest user (M.Bitton / an algerian) because he couldn't stand that I provided sources proving that the Moroccans and Tunisians had also introduced Merguez into France.

However, he has no right to block me because all the sources have been provided. He accused me of pov-pushing, and that's not the case because the sources prove me right and here the sources ; (1,2,3). Also, he accused me of participating in an edit war over the Merguez article, which is not true, you can check the story here.

What to do in a case like this because it is injustice and because his behavior goes against Wikipedia's rules ; he makes me look like someone doing pov-pushing when it was him who did it.

My request must urgently be sent to the administrators to be unblocked and this dishonest user must be punished.

And how can I contact an administrator so that my voice is heard and this injustice is revealed ?
Because I've literally been stuck for 3 months for something I didn't do.

I made two unblocking requests which were refused because the administrators cannot understand the situation, they cannot understand that there is a story of injustice behind this case.

Because the administrators asked me (without having checked whether the blocking was deserved or not) to say that I would not do it again, except, if I say that, it will mean that I am guilty even though I am innocent.

Because how can I say I wouldn't do something I've never done before? Administrators need to review this matter because it is necessary.

Also, I've been blocked for 3 months for something I didn't do and what's more, I've been blocked indefinitely, so I don't have a return or unblocking date.

Best regards . Littlexiaogui (talk) 16:03, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Witness, eh. Please read what the WP:GAB has to say about treating unblock requests as court proceedings. Nevertheless, I have reviewed your edits. And I endorse your block. I see no way forward for you to be unblocked, as I cannot see you changing. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:44, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and nationalist (and any other) personal attacks may cost you access to your talk page. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:45, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Leave your nationalism at the door, please. It seems to me you are too close to the topic to see what you are doing wrong. I agree that there is no pathway forward here. 331dot (talk) 17:01, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
